Serious seeds rock! On the other hand it should be a normal rate with fresh beans, but we all know how many people here have probs with their beans sprouting.
Not long ago I have sprouted my last seven AK47 and got 5 girls, they were lying in fridge for over four years, all sprouted. I highly recommend Simon. Next strain I will try is his coming overworked chronic...but maybe it is a rumor?

Simons seeds usually sprout in 24 hours or so for me. I think they sell fast enough that they don't sit on a shelf getting old. Gypsy refridgerates his stock, which helps immensly. With AK47 I always get a majority of females...that's why I've been using them every year since I got them. Do yourself a favor and make a good quantity of F2's. I made about 700 F2's in 2003. they've been stored in airtight glass containers, in the fridge, and in still pop in 24 hours today. I haven't noticed any difference in performance either. I AM tired of the 3 phenos, though. I only like to grow the Indica pheno.

wrong. its been known for some time that he changed the recipe [you can take multiple paths to the same end result]
the change he made that gave us 10x the chance of finding the cherry pheno also added autoflowering-when-rootbound to serious seeds' ak47. my ak47 mother autoflowers when pot-bound and produces the most wonderful plants but is a complete pain in the butt to keep.
If your AK47 goes autoflower on ya, pot up, trim off the funky bud sites, and blast the thing with N and >20hrs/day of light. She'll come around. Even if you flower one thats doing the weird autoflowering thing, she'll bud out normal. Its not DJ Short genes, so its not a mutant freak.

there have been no changes to the AK for a few years now. The higher change
for the Cherry-type is new to me. Autoflowering we've heard about.
Looking at your email, I don't know what "....from root bound." means.
So, there are 2 things I wonder about;
1) is it really autoflowering, or are they mistaken abundant pre-flowers (4
on each knot) for actual flowering? People thinking they have a problem
because they don't know the difference between pre- and actual flowering.
This has happened several times in the past, also from before autoflower
came into fashion. But now they just call it as such.
2) is (are) some shop(s) tampering wiht the original seeds and packaging and
replacing with 'their own seeds', which may be even offspring of
autoflowering plants??
We 've had a few reports also about supposedly auto-flowering, it seems that
those (just 2 may be 3 cases) were bought from the same outlet.
I'm curious to hear where you got your info from? You write about 'some
people', is it from forums?

Here are the Freep's PPP freebies I got from Gypsy Nirvana's Seed Boutique. I acquired these freebies after buying packs of santa bubble, ak-47, and kiwi seeds hindu kush off of seed boutique. i started them around the same time as the ak's.

In two packs - never saw a hermi - last pask was sickly plants and 3 autoflower girls , there was no getting them back into veg state either, 6 months wasted.
Contacted Simon - exchanged a couple emails and that was that, it seems.
Simon points fingers at Gypsy - Gypsy says it's not his problem.
They both got paid - I came out a lil short though. sigh,,,,,
Interesting reading about the root-bound ---- while I can't say no,,, I don't think so.
During up=potting I never saw overly dense root formations,,,,,, but I gotta say hmmmmmmmmmmm,
Same techneique as the first time -
When I emailed Simon he was very concerned and he always has been with any problems I had. Now I know Gypsy is not swapping out seeds that's just ridiculous. I grew out 2 packs as well and did not have any issues with Hermie's or auto flowering. I have not got any of the new stock I hope that Simon will take care of those who have had problems. It seems to me he stands behind his works and has excellant service at lest to me he did.
WHY THE HELL WOULD HE RE-WORK AK-47, IT WAS FANTASTIC AS IT WAS. Dammit.

I got my ak as a cut it was from a homade f2 It is verry indica wich is wierd and it tastes like fruity pebbles. thinking of getting a joey seeds pack of ak anyone ever tried there shit.
Nice babies ill keep an eye on this grow the AK-47 has eluded me all these years but i did manage to smoke some from a friend on the weekend very very nice indeed must of been the indica leaning pheno cause it hit me in the back of the head straight after my first toke...

Here are the ak47 plants mixed in with some Santa Bubble & Hindu Kush plants. I've tried training the plants this time and it has been doing well. The plant tops almost all formed a near 90 degree angle when they came up the next day. Now each plant has more budsites exposed to the sun. I'm hoping for wide bushes instead of xmas trees this time
