first time - Design input/ideas?

I'm looking for a DIY project - to design a cabinet or box that I can place in my attic to yield one harvest..

I'm thinking 600 or 1000 watt aircooled growbox. DWC, 10-12 plants, SOG or SCROG...

However, due to the entrance of my attic being very small, I'm afraid I wont be able to bring any large materials such as plywood sheeting (or something that might enclose the cabinet/box) into the attic.

The two options I've played around with is either bringing the "walls" of the growbox up up multiple small plywood "strips" to be fastened to the frame of the box, eventually enclosing it.. :)crazy:) OR fasten a thick tarp material to the frame of the grow box to enclose it.

Since its going to be in the attic, stealth is not really an issue in terms of aesthetics, though noise and smell are security concerns. What, of these ideas and your own, do you suggest?!

Thanks all for your help! respect

1st idea that come's to my mind is kick the dwc or any hydro at all...

if its for "1 harvest" soil it up....

1 less work
2 less worry

forgive my ignorance 00420, but how do you figure dwc would be more worry? thanks for the input though, I'll definately consider it.

Digitalhippy - thats pretty much what I was thinking. I have a large movie poster I'm thinking about using as the material, though. You know -the huge ones that are on the side of big movie theatres?

once I get the structure up and my 6" elicent attached, I can see what the temps are like etc.

I just need some ideas for constructing some sort of grow tent/grow box

and a flood of water or slow drip that comes through your ceiling if your reservoir starts leaking is the other.......

to fix the water problem, (i posted a problem and no solution, jackass thing of me to do), build a tub out of pond liner and 2x4's or 2x6's in a box shape around the grow room. This box would consist of 4 pieces of the 2x4's or 2x6's, each up on its side, in a square/recangle of the grow space. Pond liner would then be placed in the box agaist the floor and 2x4's or 2x6's and staped across the top.

Pico, a member here, has a degisn for it with pictures and everything. don't have a link, but you can search for threads started by 'pico' and you might find it.

another thing you can do is use those concrete mixing tubs sold at homedepot or lowes as trays.

Maybe do coco beds? That could help make your growth speed faster than soil if you did it right, reduce container height for more plant growing height, and possibly help you attain higher yields.

i'm a little stoned, so I hope that made a lil sense.

IMO, you better figure some things out before you start constructing.
First off, what is the ambient temp in the attic now...before you get things going? If it is above 85 deg F(most likely over 100) how are you going to keep your cab cool? You will need to figure on getting the air from somewhere else.

can you water daily and how much can you invest on this single turn-over?

lamp(s), fan(s) and ducting, construction material, misc. el. articles and controllers/relays, growing equipment (nutrients/medium/etc.) and genetics cost a bit, but can be done cheaply too. But these are the mere basics of what you need.

If you'r only gonna go for 1 harver, it's a big hassel to build a DWC and get all the meter's(ppm/pH)... Soil is simple
