What is LCs? The only thing worth reading in the stickies concerning teas is CT Guy's Tea Article
Tim

They're referring to the "LC Mix" outlined in the organic sticky at the top of the page titled 'Organics for Beginners' or a similar name.

Well it looks like the same outdated stuff still hanging around concerning compost tea. I guess if you wanna mix up some bird or bat shit and call it tea... okay but dont talk abut using an aquaruium pump to promote good (aerobic) microbes. That's plain ridiculous.

The concept of 'guano teas' date back about 30 years to a product still in production called 'Budswell' which comes in both a 'veg' as well as a 'bloom' formula.

Heh..........

If fish can breath microbes can. It is foolish to say a 60 gallon aquarium pump cannot handle the job on a 30 gallon tea setup.

So you are saying that bubbling Guano teas with an aquarium air pump dates back 30 years? show me.

I'm not disputing shit teas, just their affiliation with aerated compost teas and the promotion of aerobic microbes. Ridiculous!!!

As an aquarium hobbyist (salt-water reef systems) I can tell you that the ratings on 'aquarium pumps' are all over the board.

What you want to look for are the liters per minute converted over to gallons per minute.

According to Tim (Microbeman) and others is .8 cfm - that requires a serious pump not generally used in a typical aquarium system unless you're running protein skimmers, wave-motion equipment to maintain the health in a salt-water set-up. Especially in the salt-water reef systems.

A decent pump will run +$65.00 - MarineDepot.com is a place to start looking for these types of pumps.

No, that isn't what I said.

What I posted was a link to a 'guano tea' that has been made and sold for 30 years from the Budswell company.

They do NOT use an aerobic compost tea process to make their tea products. It's more accurately known as a leachete (sp?) tea.

You of course are entitled to your opinion but I have tested this with real equipment many times and have worked out a formula; minimum 0.05 CFM/gal. <=35PPM water; 2.38% compost; 0.75% molasses; 65 to 72 F degrees; up to 36 hour brew; with over ten styles of brewers.

Optimum is 0.08 CFM/gal

Do you really wish to argue with me on this?

could one of you expand on guano co super tea or liuid budswell. im using it, seems good, i cant make tea myself right now. is it complete bullshit? im pretty sure i see positive results from supertea, but 30$ a gallon is expensive and the most priciest liquid i use, im not into overpriced nutes, but i splurge on the guano co for some reason.

No argument from me, Tim.

I was simply trying to explain the 'history' on the urban myth surrounding guano teas. It all goes back to George Cervantes' book on growing marijuana.

George didn't come to the discussion with 'clean hands' as they say in a court of law, i.e. he owned one of the very first 'grow stores' up in Portland and from his so-called writings created any number of 'growing myths' that still persist to this day.

He was/is a complete tool by any definition.

At one time (and perhaps even today) the Budswell company used the Archipelago Bat Guano for their Budswell Bloom product.

Having said that, you might want to read what the importer of this product has to say about N-P-K numbers as it relates to bat guano - here

Best wishes on determining the truth. I couldn't but hopefully your endeavors will prove more fruitful than mine were.

Here's a link to the nutrient profile for this specific guano - here
