Samathas 10 year old bag seed grow

Yeah sucks, Is their anything I can do ? I was thinking of chopping her down before the seeds develop? Is there anything wrong with that? I thought about trying to pick off all the bananas but that would be an all day exercise. and I am sure I would miss some anyways.
My next grow I am gonna do some lowryder and California hash.

Try dutchmaster reverse. Are you sure they hermied? :(

Just saw the pic, damn!

make sure when you start your next grow you should clean out your tent very well to make sure there is no pollen in there to pollinate your next crop.
if it was me i'd go ahead and germinate some seeds and when they are big enough go in the tent then kill your hermie.
peace

That SUCKS samatha, Not-Samatha, samathasativa ;)

You'll get it next time!

Did you do something to it (drop the pot or something)? or do you think it just turned on its own?

At least you get a little reward for the effort :) better luck next time!

Thanks Rook!
I am a little disappointed, But I am going to try again! Next up California Hash and Lowryders. I hope things turn out alittle better this time. But I did learn alot, And had fun doing it. Thanks Rook and Tuff Girl, For all your help with my first plant!!

Like darookie said.... you did harvest some buds and if they didn't hermie I have no doubt you would have had a perfect run. It was nothing you did and prolly couldn't of been helped. I'd call it a success. Enjoy! YOUR A GROWER NOW

Oh I am pretty sure I am the total cause of this plants demise, I had the Ph all Jacked up for a while, I had those darn spots and The plant was never getting any fresh air its whole life until about 1 day before she hermied on me. Next grow things will be different! LOL

I know, I'm disappointed too. I was really hoping to see the results of your efforts! I closed my eyes today and chopped down one of my babies because I was pretty confident she was done. I got a foldable drying thing from Target, which seems to be working well so far. :)

Now we remember the danger of bagseeds :( I hope mine doesn't end up the same way, but I'm going to pick up some reverse just in case.

It's hard to gauge what causes a plant to hermie. If everything else went perfectly, it's usually a light leak, but it didn't go perfectly. That plant went through some hard times back in the day! But I'm excited to see the next round:) You'll get it kiddo! California Hash is a great resilient plant with a big yeild, and you have the best of the best equipment now, and a huge amount of experience dealing with problems.

ps. quick note, when you dry them, try to trim the leaves a little more. Get some good small scissors (not tiny eyebrow ones, regular small ones that are sharp). The more leaves that are left on, the harsher it will be. And before you trim the next round, get a bottle of 'Goo-Gone'. Because when you trim a bunch, your hands and your scissors will be caked in resin, goo-gone takes it all right off!

One last thing, Lil' Sam looks great, I'll snap a pic for you later today! She's still dwarf'ish and weird, but really healthy:) Her sisters are 5' tall and full of buds, but she's the size of the next generation!:)

Thanks Tough girl!,
I cant wait to see Lil Sam. lol Oh god your not kidding about the scissors being caked with resin, I cant even use them anymore, Ill have to get some of that goo gone.

Yeah Staci Sativa went through hell and back! But at least I got some bud out of it. I don't know if it will actually get me high or not but at least it was not a complete fail. Thanks again for all your help! I could not have done it with out you and rook! I am gonna start my next Grow journal, next week. And ill update this journal with a Dry weight as soon as it is Dry.

Congrats on the grow SS! Bummer on the hermie, but shit happens. She was a healthy plant though! Kudo's on getting the 10 year old seed to germinate too. The smoke shouldn't be all that bad. Ive had to take down plants way early too, and to my surprise not a bad smoke.

Have fun:joint:

"It's hard to gauge what causes a plant to hermie." This is some serious wisdom that can be applied to many problems other than hermaphrodites. Cannabis is so tough that it generally takes a number of insults to produce a symptom. The present culture of cannabis cultivation generally advises way too much 'care' and as a result most of our plants are overmedicated to the point where insults come from all angles and accurate diagnosis of problems is complicated. This causes the field of knowledge to be full of speculation and alternative methods, few of which actually work for the reasons hoped. Even the success of some 'cure' can mislead people into thinking that they hit on the exact problem. In reality only part of the problem was addressed, but the cannabis plant is so tough it recovers when a few insults are removed.

Another important point to remember about hermie flowers is they need to have their pollin blown around to make seeds. For me, I only grow to support my breeding habit, so everything revolves around that activity. Sometime in the early eighties I stopped using fans in my growroom to prevent accidental pollination. The air in my growroom is very still these days and when I find a 'banana' it invariably dropped it's pollin directly down on tbe bud below and nowhere else.

Here you go Sam:) Lil' Sam with the next generation hybrids. And the second one is her compared to her twin sister! All the other girls are 5' bushes and she's still just a little thing:) But they're so cute when they're small like that! They just grow up so fast, sniff sniff (wipes tear):gaga:
