it doesnt have to be exactly 5km people
use your surronding terrain and adapt. make it difficult for yourself and others to reach your spot. never use the same trail if possible.
my place of serenity is sort of high ground in a swamp type setting there are places where theres 3 foot of water and dry grass in others. you have to walk 2km through swamp with swarms of blackflies and mosquitoes, insane ticks i find 3 every time on me when i leave, there is no avoiding it, i accept it and suck it up every time i go out. swamp makes tracking impossible, believe that. if you dont have a swamp, use whatever you got to your advantage. if you live in desert, use terrain to deter anyone looking around make it a long walk through rocky terrain, use plant/wildlife, terrain to deter rippers. remember they have to find it, make it difficult for them, thats all you can do..
you give up alot of security when you grow outdoors especially guerilla, cant stop a hungry deer unless you are waiting with the shotty
BADMF- rippers using dogs to track growers trails?? come on broseph thats ridiculous. First the dog would need your scent to track you thats how that works. second if you go out once every 2 weeks no dog will be able to pick up a 2 week old scent after rain and such... if someone rips you off, that means you did not hide it well enough... better to be ripped than busted, and if the rippers find it then you deserve it. people who get ripped and are growing legally.. that sucks but at the same time, if your growing legally it would be so easy to protect. dogs and shotguns. sleep out in a tent like MAJLEESTONED.

Well People Talked to One of my "Grow Buddies" North of me..& he had 3 plants Dug Up....1 NL/1 Tom Jones..(Our own Strain) & 1 Carrot Top Strain...He told me he thinks It was Small Game Hunters... "trespassing" Who Saw them & came back later..... It sucked for him..But On the bright side... He has 10 more plots & that was the only one in that field...So HE'S STILL GOOD FOR THE SEASON... BUT I SILL HATE THE "RIPPERS"I will pass on the haterade I prefer beer and bud but you do not grow in my state or my environment. I live in the Midwest with very little land untouched by farmers. As a grower if I was a ripper and I am sure there are ripper/growers out there I would not have a hard time ( relatively speaking) finding grows. My point is simply that not everyone’s situation is the same and that does not account for rippers dumb luck either .
I would also like to touch on the notion that you wont make a trail if you use a different entrance each time.
1. I would never in a million years look for entrance trails why in the hell would you do that? I would look for areas that would be good grow locations and investigate with or with out trails. That’s how I find my grow locations. Why would a ripper be any less intelligent?
For my area I could name a few variables that would call out many peoples grow locations. Of course it won’t work every time but I bet I encompass the traits many growers look for and entrance trails aren’t on the list.
2. I challenge anyone who has put 10 or more plants in one location to tell me there are no trails inside (not talking entrance trails) of his/her plot. It doesn’t happen. My average is 6 visits a season and no way in hell there will not be trails in my grow area especially in the fall when native vegatation doesn’t grow back. Why do people claim that it’s impossible unless you grow on rocks?
3. I believe (not positive) BadMf was referring to LEO not rippers using dogs. Although I see no difference between LEO and Rippers. Not sure either way if dogs are used by LEO but seems logical.

Pigs and dogs go hand in hand. They use em. As to how effective they are, who knows? I do remember in 2001 or so on Big I, the eradication money was pulled. Their budget was normally $280,000 and they had to give up $250,000. The chief pig gets a write up on the front page and he said " we only get $30,000 to keep Marijuana from the kids." Then he goes on saying things like " If they take away our helicopters, that is like taking a patrol car away from a patrol pig, how is he supposed to do his job." Then the big one comes out. He says the 30 g's "leaves them with a truck and a dog" Their it is " DOG ". Then goes on to say that" their network of spies and snitch bitche's, and the truck and the dog was how they were gonna do it that year". Fuckin IDIOT.
What really happened is another story. The second part of the article was interviews with the "green harvest" pigs themselves. They did admit to " The truck and the dog". Damn thing had a name too. I forgot, who cares anyway. They go on to say that the " green harvest" guys are getting together and gonna pitch in money so they can cover the chopper costs, again so" No Marijuana gets to our kids in schools".
They flew at 200 ft and did circles on EVERY house I knew at the time. EVERYBODY I talked too, all over the island said the same thing. They were dropping off ropes for 1 plant. I watched them do it. "Biggest haul in years " the papers scream. Whole towns and villages were wiped out. People were hurtin. Trucks and Dogs, I dont remember hearing anything about that damn DOG ever again.
As a matter of fact pigs,rippers AND dogs go hand in hand. Only one who doesn't know any better is the poor dog.

- I stand corrected on the dogs. My bad BADMF, i did not think of this. Jitamon, i never thought about it but pigs too (the actual animal) would make total sense if trained to find the scent just like dogs. I cant believe i did not think of this. This is why i am still learning, i never claim to know it all.

I know this because I was hiking with my dog this winter on public land and ran into them on three occasions, training their animals. I watched once and the dog was always looking for a guy, in camo, hidden in the brush. I wanted to know what they were going to use the dogs for, and the "officer" was very circumspect about it, citing lost/injured persons mostly. I asked why Fish and Game would be involved with that, because the last time I checked human beings were neither fish nor game. At that point he locked up and could only stammer. I can't imagine there is a NEED for dogs to locate a guy that killed an extra deer or took too many rabbits Sunday morning. These fucks are going to use these to find cannabis patches/growers. Fucking fish cops.

when you start having seizures because a tick made it inside your body, i'll be the first to laugh. by the way. i've been growing in the wilderness for more than 10 years and have not once had a plot ripped. you don't need to be a fool and wade through shit water to keep rippers away. that is where you are mistaken and i feel bad for you. good luck with those ticks.
It sucks in my area, We got a lot of people round here that don't work,and they're addicted to all kinds of pills (pillbillies). They get out on Atvs, and go through the hills searching for plots. I think they suck each other too....shitheads. The bad part about it is they are your so called friends..........worthless piece of shits......... Bad thing is I would give em plants to grow if they would ask me.

J; they don't track "you" they are trained to follow MJ scents like Po-Po dogs!! If its a decent sized grow you are tending, you will have some aroma molecules on hands etc. Believe me, these folks aren't looking for a small grow, they want a biggun! There was an article in Canada on rippers walking dogs down suspected "grow house" streets to further their efforts! Outdoors hunters know how sensitive dogs are!
You are 100% correct in stating the harder it is to get to the better. If they don't know where you go in they can't get started. And I'm waaay late on reading the posts under my last one, sorry 'bout that.
