NovA's Urban Guerrilla Grow 09

To start off Im going 100% organic no chemicals...Ive helped with a few indoor grows that were liquid chemical based, and i want to see the difference.

To start things off I found 3 remote sites that have dense amounts of low shrubs/thorn bushes everywhere, and enough large trees to keep them hidden. There is only 1 true way into the spots with a very steep hillside/cliff on 2 sides, and such dense vegitation that I couldn't see my red markers from more then 100ft away...and thats without leaves! The spots I have I picked because they get great morning/afternoon direct sun with indirect sun late into the evening (southish facing slope).

Genetics: Sour Diesel x HP-13
Indica/Sativa: 50/50
THC: 20-25%

Dutch Passion Durban Poison Feminized seeds

Genetics: Durban Poison
Variety: 100% Sativa
Type: Traditional Landrace, true-breeding strain.
Harvest Date: September
Flowering Period: 8-9 weeks
THC Content: 8-15%
Characteristics: Early flowering & dense buds

Imported from South Africa, produced in Holland. Exclusively inbred, never hybridized, 100% Sativa. Large long budleaves, buds are also large and long with lots of resin. A sweet licorice or anise flavour. “Up” high similar to Thai. High yields. Well suited for outcrossing with late bloomers to produce earlier flowering. Also does very well under artificial light. A very popular variety.

Nirvana Pure Power Plant (PPP)

Plant type: Best suitable for outdoor growing.
Plant height: Medium, Indica/Sativa mix.
Stoned or high: Stoney yet high, allround buzz.
THC level: Strong 15-20%.
Flowering Weeks: 8/9.
Yield: 500 grams (Sea of Green on one m2).
Harvest Month: 8/9.
Grow difficulty:Moderate.

Pure Power Plant is a strong, mostly sativa, variety developed in the late 90’s from South African strains. The tremendous growth potential of this plant is a prime example of hybrid vigor. PPP is the latest trend among Dutch commercial growers because of its high yields of the highest priced buds. Pure Power Plant has a pleasant, almost pine, after taste and a powerful social buzz.

G13 Labs Pure Gold Feminized

Genetics:Indica / Sativa
Flowering: 50 - 65 days
Yield: High
Height: 110 - 150 cm

Pure Gold is a mostly-Indica hybrid, producing a sweet, thick syrupy resin with an excellent yield. Pure Gold's projects a dense flower formation which is enhanced by a unique fruity aroma and backed up by the famous Indica power. These cannabis seeds have Sativa in there history which adds a pleasant smooth high. Like many Indica-dominant strains, the flowers have been known to turn purple in lower temperatures.

G13 Labs Skunk #1 Femenized

Variety: Mostly sativa
Type: Stabilized Hybrid
Harvest Date: Late October
Flowering Period: 8 weeks
Location: Indoors/Greenhouse

Skunk No. 1 was the first true stabilized hybrid to enter the Dutch Cannabis greenhouses. Sacred Seeds created it in the late 1970s from Afghani Indica, "Acapulco Gold" Mexican Sativa and Columbian Gold Sativa.

For the first time this strain provided growers with the good taste and high of a sativa coupled with the quick heavy flowering of an indica. Having been successfully stabilized, Skunk No. 1 has been widely used as a breeding parent for most of today’s leading "skunk" and many other strains. It is very easy to grow and has always been seen as a standard against which others can be measured.
It produces dense buds varying in colour from light green to golden with a very high yield. It is easy to manicure due to its high bud-to-leaf ratio. It has a sweet smell and taste with a cerebral high.

G13 Labs Super Skunk Feminized

G13 Labs Super Skunk was one of the first serious projects to create a next-level cannabis hybrid by crossing the groundbreaking Skunk #1 with an ancient, pure-bred, highly resinous Afghani hash plant. In 1990, Super Skunk was released to great acclaim.
Flowering: 45 - 50 days
Yield: Med
Height: 120 - 150 cm
Indica / Sativa

The Plan:
I plan on germinating (5) Sour P's, (5) Durban's, Skunk #1, Super Skunk, PPP and Pure Gold. Im not germinating all the seeds because if something goes wrong (

) with this experience Ill have some beans for the next grow. I am going with all organics from Fox Farms, 18-gal & 10-gal plastic totes filled with FF "Ocean Forest", and mixed with FF "Happy Frog"(5-5-5). Its a treck to my sites, but I need a good work out! So Ill be trecking water up to the sites during weeks that its not supose to rain. Ill be adding FF "Tiger Bloom" (2-8-4) and FF "Big Bloom" for flowering, and FF "Grow Big" (6-4-4) during vegatative growth. In the next 2-3 weeks I'll be going, and picking all the soils up, and hopefully by the second week of May my seeds will be arriving!! I'll be LSting 2 Sour Ps, and 2 Durban's for a comparision

Security:
Well I am clearing the openings of my sites, and loading up the area surrounding the sites with lots of thorn bushes (even though there are already loads) as to keep mainly deer from nibbling, and keep anyone from stumbling on to my garden. The steep hillside (and the fact that there is a high volume road down at the bottom about 200yards away will keep people from coming that direction). This property is adjacent to my own so I won't have a problem getting onto the land, and its within city limits so no hunting allowed...in the last 5 years Ive been here its only 1 kid that rides his ATV around those woods, and he doesn't even come close to my sites.

Next outdoor grow I'm adding wooden pallets so I can spin the containers every few days to get light evenly on all sides without breaking off roots...and it will prevent ants, and such bugs from making homes under/in my containers.

For a first time outdoor, those plants look real nice man. Looks like you kept the bugs off them. Fall should be a happy time for you.

Thanks guys. Yeah I only use organic pesticides twice when the caterpillars had nests all over the area, but since then I just remove the bugs by hand, and move most if possible to a seperate location...some get squished from the capturing portion.

Wow... over 100 views, and only 2 people said anything? This place honestly wants to make me delete this account, and not deal with the hassle. I guess this kind of stuff happens when people think they are too good to give advice... :/

what advise? they look healthy as hell. if you made your account to get pats on the back you might as well delete it.

No I did not, but there are so many talented growers that I'm sure they can spot something here that needs to be worked on, or that could be added to the next to better it. E-back pats? haha I joined here for the ability to talk about cash cropping :)

Supa Nova,
Your attrition rate is as bad as mine. I've got the same problem with ants and termites. Some suggestions if you are interested. Drop the holes in the bottom of the pots for 2 reasons.
1. ants and termites are coming in the bottom
2. you are wasting a lot of water

I've tried many things this year and the best by far is a simple hempy bucket. Drill a hole 2" from the bottom of the same buckets you are using. Fill with 3"-4" of perlite and put coir on top. The bottom of the pot acts as a reservoir conserving water and the lack of moisture going to the ground will not attract insects. The growth is explosive to boot. Despite your losses your plants look great. Good luck.

Hey I was just wondering where you ordered the seeds from? I've ordered from a place a couple times and they came in one of those smelly proof bags is why I asked. I also wanted to know if that hemp bag thing came with them?

Thanks brotha! This is what I was really looking for. No termites...just ants, but yeah i didn't think about it until it was too late....I was thinking about perhaps airpots for next season...or placing each container on a wooden pallet. I'll ahve to look into those "hempy" buckets and try what you suggested.

I got them from Attitude, and yes the Hemp bag is part of their stealth insured shipping. Its a sweet bag though!

Thanks guys! I have an even better seed stock coming in for my next grow from a private breeder friend of mine. I'll give ya'll a run down of those genetics when I get them in in the next few weekns, but most will be original old school strains from the 70s/80s :D

I have another plot I'm going to use, and I'm thinking digging holes to fill with soil, or dig 1/2 holes to place these buckets in to sun protection, stealth, and stability.

Supa Nova,
Glad I could be of some help. I've had a heart breaker of a year with ants and termites. I know you are going the organic route but based on what has happened to you i would throw some fire ant granules to kill the ants in the area as well. I have also added sm-90 to my nute mix and have had less problems. It is something close to neem oil but can go into the bucket. I am using general hydroponics per Head's formula in the sticky under the coir section and have been amazed at the health and growth rate. If you are sticking to organic you may want to look at pure blend pro for the hempy bucket.
If your year has been like mine you probably thought what the hell when the first plant went and were able to spot when another was about to go down. My last plant I lost 3 weeks ago started to wilt slightly and I took 18 clones to get something out of it. These will go in hempy buckets as well. If you see another getting ready to bite the dust you may want to try it. Good luck.
