Growing in Lapland

Mold can decimate stuff after harvest, even worse than before. It is so important to get the moisture down to 20% as fast as possible. Get them strung up, heat & fan on fast, Laplandish, you dont want to lose everything you worked for.

would hairdryier do the job?

nothing beats a good whole plant slow dry, but...in cases like yours it would be best to:

1. Inspect all harvested material for any signs of mold and remove immediately.

2. Break down all plants into individual buds and remove main stem and smaller branches.
(this will speed up drying in part by exposing more plant surface to the air)

3. Remove all non resinous leaf material from buds and set aside to dry separately.

4. If you can hang them up on a line then do so, again more air exposure and circulation
than if you lay them on a flat surface.

5. A hairdryer will work but that is a little radical, a fan (any kind of fan, even a small
battery operated fan or a pc cooling fan) blowing directly on the buds would do a
better job.

Congratulations on a beautiful harvest in such extreme northerly latitudes !!!! are Greenland and Nunavut far behind ??

An airing cupboard would do, hairdrier, yes but get one of my daughters, there pretty good, they spend all day with the darn things waving it around in front of a mirror.lol.

Congrats with harvest!
Have you any significant differents in genes from those plants?
What strains would you grow next season?

think that the main idea is getting seeds of 3rd generation have grown in the same climatic zone, coz of low yield for almost all LR hybrids.

Thanks for your advices bro! Did almost everything you said (little lazy to cut all the material there..) and dryed it with hairdryer for the first time to lose most of the moisture.. and after that just with a fan blowing those buds.. works out fine so far!

I'm impressed too because this succes was far beyond my best wishes!:jump:

Still have to wait for some time before I have proberly dryed and cured them before the smokeraport (..just because I want to have the best results even for the first try!):yummy:;) ..hmm.. mayby I should go check those beans if they would be ready soon..

Thanks bro!:headbange

Yes there were two totally different types of genes.. one with very small and very few leafs but with high flower consume.. and one with big leafs and some what more branching style..

I hope I could get Pekin Pehku for next season.. But I think I still go with LR #2 because it's able to finish here for sure.. I also wish to have some danish genetics like Royal Dane.. And Early Pearl would be really cool to go with because of it's incredible moldresistance, but Pekin Pehku does have those genes allready, so...:pimp3:

Time for some late ones..

Time for some late ones..

Hello there! It's about time to show you some plants I planted out there later.. These are about 2-3 weeks younger than the ones I allready harvested.. And these live in very different kind of enviroment.. Some of these are seed plants and the others just to make sure there are enough weed for the whole winter..

Some seedplants first.. I'm not quite sure about last pic being a seed one..

I think I might leave some plants there to see how long they can survive here.. It's being cold here allready.. -3 degrees during nights for a couple of days so far..

But anyway, I hope you enjoy! :smoweed:

hmmm... should I try to get some magic mushrooms out of my bud? Doesn't sound too bad..:abduct:
No you won't.
Fungi = the latin name for the mushroom/mold/yeast family.

Mycelium = the web or strings or more precisely the vegetative growth stage of mushrooms.
Multicellular mushrooms that is.

This is true mold.
Don't smoke it! You can get a lung infection.
You shall think about BHO or AMBER. Thats very interesting thing. I made some today but will smoke that in future.

Did you cut all infected buds? If not - you must cut them and take away it right now from your area.

Other buds need to dry more, you can buy silicagel (it's sorbent) and put it with buds into germetic box.

Best wishes! :joint:

I have seen dry bud that looked like that. I assumed it was mold. Maybe someone else can elaborate on that pic.

Hello there Benefit!:)

I know that you can get a lung infection from mold so I removed all of it and all buds are safe now, and they are also very dry so I'm curing them now..:)

And by removing them I mean I throw them away, because I had huge harvest from those plants after all so I don't want to take any changes of beeing in touch with mold.. I think that's the best way to do that if you don't really need to make oil or something..:pimp3:

Really important message!!

But now I know why some of my buds were infested with mold.. I really can say it was because I sometimes touched them a little when I was watering them.. that's because some of my other bushes have been in a lot worst enviroment with more rain and they don't have even a minor mold on them because I haven't touch them at all any time ever.. so let that be a lesson to me and to anyone else reading about my grow!

I think Koi had the answer to that allready.. am i right?;)

Peace! :smoweed:

I forget to ask how do you collect seeds from plants? I mean do you dry them first and then collect the seeds or do take them out from the fresh wet plants? I took them out from wet bud yesterday and it really wasn't nice because you get a bit too good grip there..
