It's always about the Money.. Must be a surplus of cannabis or they are expecting to raise the price or trying to..
In the USA during the Great depression Milk producers poured milk out on the ground even while people were going without food because of prices.
There probably isn't any subsidizing to these farmers so burning the crops is probably good for the soil and the profits.
I think I would skip their hash next year for all the petro that was used.. I assume it was petro ( gasoline or such )

I have a hard time even buying that there was even 2 million plants. 2 billion outdoor plants would supply enough weed for the whole globe for like a month. It would supply every U.S. citizen with like 8 plants worth of weed.

As an aside, woudn't it make more sense to just till all the plants under and let it fert the land instead of burning all of it? that's a ton of pollution and a complete stripping of the land of nutes, seems like a really stupid ass way to do it.
