5 Strain Grow Diary-5gal bubble buckets

well u can always take clones from ur flowering plants 2 weeks after harvesting.... so u still have the strains, just get the infected ones outta the same room... hopefuly they get better.

nightcrawler, i've heard from my origional grow guru that the genetics suffer if you clone them post flowering. that they'd (eventually) lose potency. Is this true?

eventually if u are raping them for clones twice a week for over a year probably the stress will induce mutations; i don't think the genetics suffer as much as the plant; for example i had a hella stunted over avid'd cut from a club that was just wack... but it was lavender so i took a cut and put it in my cloner... the plant from my cloner looks like a normal plant.. i think it's all the hormones that get confused that mess up clones taken post flower but u gotta do what u gotta do... messed up genetics r better than no genetics

I clone 3 days into flower, and have been running the same genetics for over 5 years without a mother plant. My most recent harvest had more crystal production than ever.

I call BS on genetic degradation!

sorry... i was saying, take clones after you reveg your flowering plant.

Flower it, get ur buds
Reveg for about 3 weeks and u will have some small clones to work with

If you are going to use the walkin closet for a Veg room. You may end up limiting your access to the veg room to 12 hours a day when the flower lights are on. If you want to get into the walkin closet with 24hr of light any time of the day, you'll need to build a wall in the room or have the ability to turn off the Veg light (from outside the room), then enter the dark flower room with your green LED light, enter the veg closet close the door and relight the veg light (which you turned off from outside the room). But I really think building a wall (with sliding entry door) is your best bet.

PS again check out my pix. The first bedroom I used I put up a wall as mentioned so 1/3rd of the room is 24/7 and the other 2/3rds are 12/12

Yo use the monterey insect spray it kills em dead on the spot and it is very cheap spray it right on top of your dirt and every thing they will be dead gone right away. Yo hydrosun what up

Yeah Hydrosun, I am going to be putting up a tarp wall with a zippered entry in my room. I wouldnt be so daft to let my girls have light when they dont want it :)

One thing that I made and I'm almost proud of is my exhaust to my room. The intake comes from a dryer vent in my flower room (also the room has central air intake with AC that runs like 50 of the day) but the exhaust I had to rig up. The local Home Depot had 8" inline fans for duct on sale for clearance at i think 20 bucks each so I bought one of those, an 8" to 6" reducer, a 6" to 4" reducer, and a pvc elbow that fit the last reducer. I duct taped it all together and attached it to the main drain of the house. The T piece was already installed when I got here and there was a turn-lock plug on the spot where my contraption is, but I swear this this is like 3" long lol. I dont ever get any backup from the sewage so this is really my best innovation IMO. The only thing i couldve done better was just to buy a more powerful fan and connected it straight to the elbow.... oh well. heres the pic:

I went out today and purchased myself 10X2gal buckets. Actually they are wastebaskets I got at the dollar store. I am going to reign in the sizes of my plants for a few reasons
1)I want a more manageable garden/canopy. When I had 5x5gal buckets in there I could hardly move around and I was constantly worried about lower branches
2)No more huge trees. My strain provider told me that he thinks its possible that my nugs are suffering in the area of potency because I'm growing them too big. If I dont use a pre-fabricated bucket lid with netpot built in it always gets too heavy and falls into the bucket.
3)New Room, new method. I'm getting the large room and I want to have lots of smaller plants. I want to change my room to have lots of totes on DWC to keep the plants short. This will be happening in the next couple months. I COULD possibly move to a LP aeroponic setup but doubtful; too much oversight needed IMO.

i always thought thc potentcy didnt matter how big the plant is. I thought as long as light gets through to everything it will/should be the same as a small one stock plant of the same clone... Thats what i was told.. Correct me if im wrong though, id like to know.

im sure the bulbs i have now are burnt out, but i have had them for 2 ears now.... I can have the top of my plant about 3 inches from the light bulb it self, with no burning.

This time around im going to use HPS bulbs for flowering... When i used 1 400w CMH bulb i didnt like the buds that came off the plant, and alot of leaf.

If i were u, i would buy 1 400w CMH and 1 400 HPS and use the CMH all the way through from seed to bud, and when u start flowering put in the HPS for 12/12

Nightcrawler,

Done right your ladies shouldn't burn unless they are touching the light in a hot zone. I have buds smash into the side of the hood every grow and they don't burn. I've also had burn appear when closer than 3" from the glass in a hot zone. If you can keep the air moving through the lights super chill the plants can grow all the way into the glass ceiling!

Peace, :joint:

Again, i'll try to get pics soon, i have to borrow my mom's camera. I shouldnt have said that... I should just delete it...

Today i flipped my sour bubble plant, my jack and jill (im gonna find out the real name of it. Ive deduced that it's probably from TGA) and a tasty plant, which i have been told is NLxHaze so its prolly NL#5xHaze as thats the only strain mentioned that resembles it. I have an awesome spreadsheet that I made on some graph paper (left over from DnD days). It helps me track my multiple strains. I keep my mothers off it and the clones off it, i only start tracking a plant when I put it in a bucket for vegging and I also keep track of if im using GH nutes or BioBizz nutes cause after dropping my sour diesel in some it took off and is really doing better that i wouldve thought.

QUESTION: CAN I ADD PH UP/DOWN DIRECTLY TO MY PLANTS WATER OR DO I NEED TO PRE-DILUTE IT IN SOME WATER?

I ask cause ive been doing that (the organic biobizz doesnt buffer the ph as much as GH i assume)(i like to assume)

My canopy in the flower room is starting to get crowded. I still have about 3 and a half weeks left on my oldest plant, then 5 and a half weeks on my old mothers., then i'll start a nice SOG intake. I just have to stay on top of the clones. I'll be tansplanting another jack and jill to a bucket tomorrow and maybe another too. We'll see. I'll try to get that camera.

I add it straight into my little or big res, then lift and flood my buckets. No worries on the ph addition. I wouldn't do it straight into a feeding plant though.
