So... I'm trying to not get my thinking bogged down by the ongoing black box harvest. I have to start taking proactive measures in the full season garden. things are suddenly in bloom. Every day another strain pops. The Blue Dream and ClueBerry are almost touching one another across the aisle.

Other than ventilation related issues, THRIPS were my most serious problem in there. I don't think I could stand to see my full season ladies get ravaged by them... So in addition to my stepped-up anti bug treatments as we head into flower, I am going to treat the soil itself since that is where the little fuckers pupate. I am looking at some "Double-Death" PREDATOR NEMATODES from Nature's Control. Steinernema carpocapsae & Heterorhabditis heliothedis are the specific nematodes.

Has anybody ever used these? Anything else that people have used successfully? They also market "pirate bugs" that eat thrips. I could see this kind of predator control working in an indoor or greenhouse paradigm, but wonder how long they would stick around in my outdoor garden...

Any opinions are appreciated.

Very inspirational.
Seems Ive had many of the same troubles youve had in our first runs. Glad to see you pulled some great dank out of those boxes. Cant wait to see the rest come down, your going to have some wonderful herb on your hands.

Nice work.

I've used green cure, but more as a preventative, sprayed about week 3. Serenade, on the other hand, I've sprayed in the buds much later with no ill effects.

How late into flowering have you used serenade? I have two weeks to go and Im seeing PM popping up on my cheese and OG. I hate to spray them with anything so late in the game...

I have not used serenade yet... but i have a bottle and i'm actua;;y thinking about dousing the perimeter of my garden with it because in all the shady areas, PM reigns sup[reme. I don't know how close to harvest u can use it but i will ask around. I do know you can use subculture B (worked for rust) until harvest and I have this stuff I used for botrytis... a special foliar MY... i will bring a package in after I pull tarp and give u the details.

Wow! All those harvested nugs look great! Sorry to hear about all the budrot, I hate that shit, but I guess it's just part of being an outdoor grower..
Those ladies just beginning to flower look wonderful as well. I wish I would have had some plants that size!

dankhawk- I've actually opened up thick chemdog buds and sprayed that shit (serenade) in them within a week or two of harvest. Didn't want to do it, but it wasn't ready to be pulled and botrytis was taking hold. Buds turned out super dank with no weird serenade taste and I do think it helped it from spreading.

Damn nomaad, sorry for making your grow less fun :( Hoping to be back soon. That flo bud looks chronic though. Good pic. Sure it'll get oh-so-dank with a nice cure, don't smoke it all!

You mentioned thinning out the indicas. I was going to say that I found the method of pulling fans really helped open up my indicas (burkle, og/mendo, pmb). Those huge fan leaves can really block out some shoots in position to develope good buds. Keep keepin' on...

Good to see you fisher. I have been totally denuding the insides of the dense indicas and eradicating shoots that will never have a chance. I have trimmed a few fans here and there, but I am being very conservative about it. Once buds start forming I will trim fans with impunity to allow light to reach all the flowers.

Subculture B has the same B subtilis as serenade, but doesn't seem to smell like it would have a weird taste as you mention about serenade. may be a better late flower treatment option. but as far as I have researched, b subtilis has very little effect controlling botrytis... but it does for PM. I just used this stuff called "endofine plus" which is manufactured by myplantoasis.com, but the website is under construction.... bleh. i don't know what is in the stuff, but it comes highly reccommended as the only viable solution for botrytis. obviously, this is not meant to discount any success you have had with serenade for budrot...

You can spray serenade very late in the game. If you are looking for PM treatment for your full season ladies that are just starting to bud I recommend Safer Sulfur. You can spray it until buds start forming and then switch to the serenade. Also will help with the bud rot.
Nice harvest. Congrats.

good info there on that endofine plus. If I still were down on the coast trying to grow, I'd be after that in a minute. It may be wishful thinking, but I'm hoping all types of mold will be greatly reduced this year in this (much) dryer climate. I'll check it out though.

the coast aint got nothing on my black box in terms of humidity. when it was getting very cold at night the inside of the tarp and the hoops were covered in so much condensation, it was basically raining on my plants all night. now that temps are back up, its much less humid in there. I went and spent 125$ on a blower for nothing. Black boxes are coming down completely over the next week or so.... that is, if the Sour D is the 63 day cut instead of the 70 day as we originally thought.

Light deprivation. I pull a blackout tarp over them from 8pm till 8am.

I was wondering when somebody would ask me that. The day I started the thread, I wound up having to start it twice because one of them was fucked up. I don't remember the specifics of how so...coulda just been newb retardation. the thread names were the same with the exception of the version number.
