Correct, reservoir chiller kept it dialed. However, the dude at CCH2O runs tomatoes outdoor up to 90*F without ill effect on the tea. That's more assuring IMO, not to mention healthier plants.

You don't want to avoid using bacteria and fungi, it's part of the plant's natural environment.

i dont get how people are confused by what they see....

this is for anyone who is considering spending dough on making a system, with all the headaches and random odds & ends to be purchased, you could easily be in the same $ballpark money wise to build a comparable system. IMO any grower with the sense to see the benefits in hydro growing (for yeild and ease) should see the benifits in prefab ease and reliability/ support....
you dont get all that with DIY and you only save what 2-3 hundred bucks or so. IMO it is worth waiting to save.
put the beer money in a jar, buy storebrand food for a month and you could have a sweet ass UC system. i already saved 200 dollars grocery shopping yesterday. kroger brand food instead of name brand. thats 1/6 my 8xl i believe. lol and when i fire it up and my 2.5 lbs turns into 4+ i will stop buying DR. Thunder and go back to DR. Pepper lol.
my point is... anyone thinking it is to expensive i want to diy it, you are not really saving much money, but are gaining way more headaches, trust me i've built diy. and if the UC only gave you lets say 2 extra ounces it would have been worth it right... and MASH is saying 1GPW with ease, shit im sold cause thats way more than 2 zips extra for me....
what is grown off of 1 modular pays for entire 8xl setup i am sure.
this is key for those who only want to run crops in winter and shut down for most of hot months. plenty of meds stocked up to do so IMO
plus we have a pioneer here MASH helping all who dare and the man dont skip a beat with getting to your ?s and links.... embrace change and benifit... help others... its what its all about....
i love coco i dont even have to try, but hate disposing of medium each harvest(no REAL yard) and soil knats blow, always come in medium from anywhere i go. plus i would love to save on nutes, only adding every 1 - 2 weeks. i see more $ is spent up front but more $ is saved during, including time- time is precious to me. and no more 30 a bag of coco- free water.....
i can go on and on
sorry for the cluter, just want to give my 2 cents for those indifferant folks
thanks again MASH
Sir

For what it's worth I just left with a DIY set up to veg in 3 gal buckets rigged to run with the 8" net pots used in the UC. I bought enough for 20 sights so three huge 80W air pumps with diffusers etc, but the DIY I know what the hell I'm doing is still well north of $1,000. l want huge trees when they get dropped into my 2 8XLs and 1 12reg UC.

Peace, :joint:

Carboy - That was worded weirdly on my part, haven't directly addressed bacteria/fungi yet. That will definitely be in the social group, lots of research to be done.

Anyhow, have done experiments with a wide variety of bacteria and fungi products. The most active sample came from a batch of Flora Nova that received CCH2O's tea brew kit. The Earth Worm casting base is key I'd guess, creates a diversity of life in a 24-48h brew.

This page would give you a quick overview of ewc brew that has helped some cure slime problems and good bene help. http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=55259&page=32

A sample from that thread:

And like him i even on purpose pushed the temps up to 84 f. Did that twice in a row without even cleaning the cloner like you said Rich, just changed half of the water.

I think i can call the aero cloner case closed.

Worm shit is the shit!

Now testing in my aero setup, same recipe, will post results.

yeah... i'm all about ewc tea; got a batch brewing up right now
3 gal ro water
2 cups ewc
15ml carboload
65L/MIN airpump with 4 6" diffusers off the manifold
brew for 18-24 hours; if you live in a warmer climate
remove airstones while still one to prevent anything from getting inside em; clean em off while letting the tea sit for 30mins to settle before using and just scoop a couple cups of water off the top... lots of benes and no large particles to clog stuff... best of both worlds

u can't over fertilize using just ewc and nothing else; that's why it works so great with cloners; keeps those roots pearly white

just spent the day adding a new ro unit to my garage and removing the ro reservoir from my room and running the ro unit in my room straight to the float on the undercurrent; way easier to walk around in there now; night and day difference... also cleaned out my ez-cloner 30 with physan20, rinsed, dried, etc... scrubbed a 2x4 e&f tray while i was at it; gonna get the moms back on dtw drip in the hydrohut rocking a 20gal res on the bottom next to the ez-cloner 30... got the ez-cloner 120 in there now just to see if i got slimed with benes and no chillers; 100% success and no slime later... now i gotta transplant what is left in the cloner into coco and drain and remove the 120 from the room; probably plumb up the drip for the moms and get the 30 site rocking tomorrow

full time job yo
