I paid $10 for a 4 finger lid, back in '70, in Cali. That was a lot to me cause I had just come back from SE Asia where I was paying $13 a key for some outstanding sativa Vietnamese weed. Those were the good ole days.

Saigon you could get a sack of pre-rolled for hell was it 650P or $5 MPC. Out in the countryside there was just "wild weed" full of seed. All the Heads had burn holes in their shirt sleeves. So you wanted to cop already rolled.

$10 an ounce for good quality Mexican in 1967......same year I paid $20 for a fat oz of Acapulco Gold (wow! the real shit!) but that price was steep. In 1970, Quang Tri province of South Vietnam I paid $40 for kilo of strong Lao sativa...more commonly we paid $1 for 20 fat prerolled joints ....with seeds. I usually broke the joints open,cleaned out the seeds and rolled with some ungummed OCB papers my girlfriend sent me. We couldn't use gummed papers due too the humidity which caused them to stick together. 1972 I was back in the States and Columbian was the new thing...$20 an oz...not cheap. I tried growing Cambodian, Lao and Vietnam sativas outdoors, but with little success.

OMG, I have not given this much thought til now. I remember paying like $30 for a lid of Columbian gold, or Jamaican and about $20 for Mexican schwag. I did get some Acapulco gold laid on me by my cuz but that was almost non-existent where I lived.

In '76 bought a lid of columbian gold from my high school buddy's older brother for $25. He pulled out a garbage bag about half full and stuffed a whole handfull in a baggie. It was so full, I could only lick the flap and fold it over.

My first high-grade weed came from Virginia Highlands area in Atlanta about '79. It was a perfectly manicured bud about 10" long and nothing but hairs. The dood called it elephant bud but I've never heard of a strain by that name. Smelled and tasted like pine with a killer buzz. $50-I think it was about a 1/2 ounce. I was at Georgia Tech at the time-only time calculus ever made sense.
