soooo, im hoping that i will yield enough off the 5 plants i have flowering(with a number of seeded branches) to last me for a few months...im tearing down the grow, bleaching and bombing my whole house, and getting rid of these damn thrips for good. im so sick of them! ive used every organic method ive been able to find, and never quite got rid of the whole infestation! ive been on perpetual grow for awhile now, havent had to worry about yield or size etc. cuz i never ran out. but now im gonna have a 2.5 - 3 month gap between harvests...spooky. dont want to use the chemical sprays on flowering plants, and while i can control it in veg room, once they are near a plant i cant treat due to flowering, they just spread right back so nothin new in flowering til i have emptied it out and started from scratch! im bummed

Oh man...guess you can thank me for those thrips. Just don't understand why they've been such a problem for you to get rid of. Didn't realize they were hitching a ride. Guess they love San Diego! Whatever I need to do here just let me know.

Sorry to hear about your on going issues Sub. I have always torn down in between flower cycles and like the ability to completely clean things before i start again. A week with the lights off will do wonders for breaking an insect life cycle but unless I've just finished an immaculate flower run...I usually nuke all the walls, floor etc with bleach water. I also take a toothbrush & cleaners to fans etc. I hope the 5 you have flowering yield fat!

Peace

well, A) im a slob, and after decades of being a slob, in the last year or so i finally let that creep into my grow area, so its not really anyones fault but my own...B) honestly, as my pain has reached record levels in the last year, it has been harder and harder for me to lose myself in the joy i used to find in the cultivation of my own meds, which has caused me to become lax in my methods...C) when i was first battling the thrips i never got the larvae completely outta the soil, so they would come back...D) i was using some homegrown remedies, completely organic, and while they take longer to fully come into effect, that = takes longer to figure out it aint gonna work completely! i need a break anyway...rekindle that love i have for doing what i do....and we seem to actually be getting quality grown meds in some(one anyway) of the dispensaries down this way. i really havent allowed myself to partake of the shit most of them pass off as medicine.
----besides, we are not talking bout a three month break from growing. im gonna let what i have going now finish,(probably got 40 days or so for last one) but im not putting anything else into flower till it is completely empty and p bombed, bleached and scrubbed. i will have something in my flower chamber within 48 hours of harvesting the grapevine bblgum x sb4(newest one i have. ooh gotta go, the dude from ajnag is here....

Subrob, In case you have not tried this I was going to suggest spinosad for the thrips. It seems to knocked them out where I have seen it used. The timing is important when attacking thrips. Suerte JK

Like i have been telling ya Sub, spinosad is the shit for taking care of thrips. Ive had used lots of different products with little success, wasnt until i used monterey garden insect killer that i was able to 100% successfully get rid of the bastards. It can be used to treat the soil as well

"Spinosad is a relatively new insect killer that was discovered from soil in an abandoned rum distillery in 1982. Produced by fermentation, Spinosad can be used on outdoor ornamentals, lawns, vegetables and fruit trees, to control caterpillars, thrips, leafminers, borers, fruit flies, and more. Spinosad must be ingested by the insect, therefore it has little effect on sucking insects and non-target predatory insects. Spinosad is relatively fast acting. The pest insect dies within 1 to 2 days after ingesting the active ingredient. Will not persist in the environment. Sunlight and soil microbes break it down into carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. Classified as an organic substance by the USDA National Organic Standards Board. OMRI Listed for use in organic production. Mix 4 Tbsp. per gallon of water."

I'd consider spinosad technically organic due to the fact it is derived from bacteria.

Sub remembers my Spinosad raves; i really wasn't being paid by them it just was so friggin effective and something that replaces dozens of other products. I still have most of my concentrate from over a year ago and have had no thrips or anything else for the matter (knock on wood) since using it a few times.

I hear what your saying though, after the novelty wears off...it becomes increasingly difficult to muster the rigor and fidelity that all master growers posses. :yeahthats

I got the other stuff from Dixieline but it is 100% . What dilution guideline are you using i.e. for soft herbs & spice recipe?

you all know you have done it too, :nanana: Funny thing is i did it the day before my cam charger got here so there is no documentation of the beautiful kush hedge with Kush Og creepers comming out of every other cola stalk. I threw them in 3 gal coco's in the back behind hedge and threaded them in through the Kush Hedge. I also killed a tubbler branch crimped a blue dream and f'd up my staked bk

Hell yeah! I can relate to the loss of vertical-tude. Do you have a moment from when you were falling burnt into your brain? Things always go slow-mo for me right before i hit the deck.

At my age, I can't fault anyone else for getting old. I was 9 years old when dirt was invented!
