sadly the only thing we can do to prevent things like this is by eradicating individuals who carry the genes which are responsible for these things.
Today, with things like plastic surgery and various treatments for recessive/degenerative conditions, people who would normally be selected AGAINST in the evolutionary process and die off are aided to reach reproductive age, reproduce, and further pollute the human gene pool.
It's a tough stance but it's the only rational way to secure a future for humans.
i respect your stance, really i do

...but who is to say that these people are any less perfect than you or i? ALL of us, and i mean ALL, contain mutated genes. our evolutionary history is there because of mutated genes. physical deformities might have been a disadvantage back on the plains of africa when hunting for impala, but here in this day and age, many times they make for advantages. how many times have you met someone with down syndrome that was rude? who are you to say that the dude with a bum leg should have been eradicated? he might be one of the coolest, smartest dudes around.

ass backwards fundies who cant tell sartre from favre should propagate just because they have perfect skin and beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes? but someone with one too many chromosomes should have been aborted because his eyes might be almond shaped?

theres a fella works at my local wally world thats mentally handicapped, help you fast as he can in the sporting goods! i seen him at the bowling alley and i bought us some beer and pizza hes one good human!

I bought us ?

it's true, alot of mentally handicapped are real good souls
it's so admirable

I reallly learned something from this thread, these people are to be admired for fighting the battle,

I deliver food so I meet a lot of people, and I recently saw a man without an arm,
and I saw a man recently who was in a wheelchair without legs

there was also another one, who used to drive an 18 wheeler, he was so nice, he liked to talk, but I used to feel a little bad for him, like I could feel his sadness, but still he was making good conversation, he gave nice tips too

there was this man the other day, one of his eyes didn't really work. at first I didn't know which eye was the working one
and I didn't want to make him feel bad, so I just was really respectful

I didn't hear you say anything about the fact that the guy who was having a hard time walking is actually walking to assist you with something....I'd say that's a pretty positive thing....
Instead of seeing this person's handicap...I think it would be a better thing to look past it and see how impressive it is for someone to overcome this limitation. Years ago, they'd be relegated to institutions....now they're helping you at Wal-mart....I think that deserves at least a small K+.

I agree. It's an extremely positive thing.

I admire & have immense respect for mentally & physically handicap people that are working. It doesn't matter what job there doing, they're out there doing it to the best of their ability, giving it their all, with the limitations they have been dealt in life.

For the most part, Americans are well-taken care of compared to most countries. In fact, today our governmental system has made it easier than ever before, for healthy people without any type of handicap, to be provided for without much effort on their part. And there is alot of protectionism and lack of discipline in this country to perpetuate this ethic.

It's important for everyone to have a chance to engage in lifes normal activities, and feel empowered. BIG K+ to those with handicaps contributing to their communities and society as a whole.

Humans are not cannabis, as simple as you made it sound. They are not hermies to be culled out of your grow... There's a thing called right to life, and just because someone has handicaps doesn't mean they don't deserve to live. Unlike others, I do not respect this view at all. The biggest threat to humans is human nature itself, not dominant or recessive genes. On top of that, I think it'd be nearly impossible to work mental/physical handicaps into the entire gene pool. But yeah, like others have said, reproduction usually isn't in the picture for them to begin with.

That sounds like something Hitler would have done... You sound like someone I'd like to burn with... Ha.

Would you sterilize every parent of a downs baby?

Or just eradicate them?

"Today, with things like plastic surgery"

Whats up, big noses and small tits are a recessive/degenerative condition?

Do we just eradicate them as well?

Even if your just talkin shit, your twisted!!!

sorry, euthanizing individuals/segregating which ever is the best.
Commercial - and tequila.
Truth hurts sometimes. Humans are part of nature. Nature sees selection within all species. The modernity of human civilization has made a disastrous step in that it circumvents natural selection, by - again, allowing people with genes which carry diseases and recessive genes to be come a burden on future societies. When there's no natural selection going on, the species is taking a step against nature and securing our fate.

or we are turning from being a race of individual organism to being an entity made up of individuals. The good, the bad and the ugly

just because individuals are different and don't have an apparent value in your eyes doesn't mean it does not exists

a foot would seem odd to a hand and a hand odd to a foot but a healthy body requires them both

so i don't believe we have to conscribe to survival of the fittest when we have evolved far enough to develop a feeling, a yearning and a desire called love

fairly blown away, at the apparent support for eugenic type thought!!
"Society has no business to permit degenerates to reproduce their kind.... Any group of farmers who permitted their best stock not to breed, and let all the increase come from the worst stock, would be treated as fit inmates for an asylum.... Some day we will realize that the prime duty, the inescapable duty of the good citizens of the right type is to leave his or her blood behind him in the world; and that we have no business to permit the perpetuation of citizens of the wrong type. The great problem of civilization is to secure a relative increase of the valuable as compared with the less valuable or noxious elements in the population... The problem cannot be met unless we give full consideration to the immense influence of heredity..."

Sick! It is usually a combination of recessive genes which both parents carry.

You would be eliminating 99 % of the world's population !:noway:

Ok so yeah, go ahead and eliminate yourself H20, seeing as how LESS THAN 1% of societal gene pool is "unflawed" I mean you're talking about some Nazi ass genocide shit, you douche.

Because its horrible that someone with retardation's, sounds like you may have some, lives a happy and content life right, right?

Attention Grab ... and y'all got sucked IN ... this is BullShit ... all of it ... If people paid More attention to what's WRONG with them and not what Might be wrong with someone else the world would be a Much Better place. Feeling sorry for a person with what you perceive to be a Handicap is a complete and utter waste of time and emotions. It's a distraction method used to feel better about your own worthless-in the big picture existence ... The thread starter would have you believe that they are some kind of a Living Compassion Machine walking around helping (yeah when They are actually the one needing help) in the Most Decrepit places on the Planet when in reality they are just real happy they aren't afflicted in such an obvious fashion ...

Simple biology my friend..

Hey..if we had some kind of breeding system we would not be in the shit we are in now. I don't think anyone here will become the next Hitler or smth lol :D..But eventually the herd will cull itself. And then it's going to hurt REAL BAD...

Don't be offended if some people think rationally and not...cute !? We are waaaay passed the point of no return. Way too late to talk about doing anything about it. If the shit hits the fan it's back to square one..

H20: I understand what you're saying. I agree that people have circumvented the natural process of selection.....people that have very serious genetic issues do in fact pass these things on, and the quality of life for those individuals that inherit those genetic weaknesses is sometimes in question. Survival of the fittest means simply that....I didn't make the rules either...but clearly given other circumstances it would be untenable for certain individuals to continue to live or reproduce.
That being said, it still brings a smile to my face to think that in spite of the limitations some individuals face.....they can accomplish so much. We take for granted some rather simple things, and these people blow the curve on that with every action. Makes me pause.
word man. I might actually check out the special olympics when they come around again. Some of those dudes are actually athletes, but like 3 feet tall or something. Cool stuff. No betting!
