Horticulturalist/Sustainable Bio-Ag Professional

Hey everyone, just wanted to pop in and say the following. Been in Horticulture and many fields of Bio-Agri. for 18+years, and I enjoy chatting up especially with any breeders, patients, and novices. Medical patient myslef of 3 years, battling severe chronic pain due to a back injury that has caused intense musco-skeletal and neuropathic CP, along with DDD, fractured vertabrae, and so on. Fun times, but I keep it under control. I specialize in specific medicinal varieties, and continue to chart and list what working on the underground. Feel free to ask me anything-my specialties other than Cannabis are the following- landscape architecture, sustainable organics and agriculture, bio-organic soils, soft tissue perennials, hardwood shrub and trees, drought tolerancy/xeriscaping, gteenhouse management, micro propagation/tissue culture, cloning, beneficial insect management, and so on. Again, hi to all, and hopefully I can help in anyway I can.

Hey HPO welcome to ICM, your knowledge would be fantastic.

May I ask you, when you make your plants a compost tea what do you use? For vegative cycle & flower.

Nice bmwcali, thanks for dry humor...... and its not only THC, its the other Cannabinoids that help round out the medicine for me.

Thanks for the warm welcome to everyone.

Hundred Gram Oz- compost teas, when I make them, usually involves the following ingredients- llama manure( I really need to explain this one in another post if anyone is interested), dried kelp, bloodworm castings, dried beets, FG Molasses, barley, and various already composted kitchen scraps( vegetation only )....

I am very interested in learning about tissue culture.A friend recently got a kit.Have you successfully taken cannabis tissue samples, kept for some time then grown out full plants from those kept samples?I personally haven't heard of anyone doing it yet.Its fascinating though. Please DO tell us ALL about LLama shit!!!Welcome, nuggler

Dank, no tissue culture on Cannabis, as my lab is not setup for that right now. I have done many different plants via tissue culture( beets, potato tuber, alfalfa, orchids, etc etc), but i am really into experimenting with Cannabis on a cellular level. On a different note, llama manure- a weird mixture of this going on here. Llama manure is low enough in Nitrogen, so you can actually use it as a top dress or mixing amendment while fresh or composted. I use it very often as a soil amendment, as the pellets tend to become a great way to break up clay soils, aiding in drainage and tilth, and creating a bonus area for aerobic bacteria, endo and ecto myco, and other flora and fauna of the microscopic world. It works great in compost teas, as it won't lower the ph too much. I am working on a analysis on the manure at different seasons of the grow year, to determine the numbers of fungi that are related to temps. More info to come, but for all, a great way to add macro and micro nutrients at a safe level, even when the manure just came out of the llama!!!! And the tissue culture thing, I may work on that this winter, but no promises. I have my hands full on breeding Blue's, which is my main focus right now.

Hey hortpro!!!!

We gotta talk about guinea pig manure sometime soon.....i've read some studies from Peruvian agricultural journals and it seems quite promising.....

:ying: kind regards from guineapig :ying:

Mosca, thanks for the interest. I have been compiling personal and other patient information regarding Cannabis selections that are utilized for specific ailments. I do not just center on Chronic Pain and Neuropathic problems, so my data is vast. There isn't really a 'just' factor for one certain high for me, and my research cannot be that narrow and I do not prefer to center growing just on how "couch-locked" one can be. Within my data, I look for things like anti-inflammatory properties, mood stability, mobility, anti-spasmatic( musko-skeltal ), flexibility, length of effect, pain management, etc. etc. So in other words, some of my own hybrids may not give the seasoned toker a 6 hour "out of this world high" (although, some can be surprisingly "WTF just happened in the last 5 hours"), but the effects on pain management, mood, anxiety, etc etc can be flexible enough to say, you can free yourself from those symptoms for 6-9 hours. That is what I am trying to achieve overall, from the effectiveness of the medicine, to prolonging the effects so your medicine goes farther for you. I have been really working the "Blues and Purples" lately, because I do see some improvement needed with those, even on a patients perspective. So all in all, the high can be very complex in nature, not just because a strain is really potent, but what can it provide long term to a patients needs, or even the recreational smoker.

Guinea, thanks for the welcome as well. I am definitely interested in learning about Guinea pig manure, and its breakdown. I am going to check it out, and maybe down the road, provide some trials to share with you, and anyone else that is interested. Manure as a whole is a great ingredient in one's soil, so I would think a Guinea pig being a mainly a herbivore, would provide a great addition to compost tea with the broken down phytosterols and plant fibers.

and lastly, hello Shaun. Thanks for the welcome as well.

Hello Hort! It is wonderful to see what you bring to the forums here at IC Mag-- a different perspective! You are welcome to post in my forum any of your in-depth info on the utilization of Marijuana for specific ailments--especially of the Blues and Purples varietals kind.

What can you tell me of your hybrids and their effects on pm? And I don't mean powdery mildew... lol

Cheers!

Hello, welcome to the site.
When you say "tissue culture", is that kinda like making test tube babies ?
Is it more along the lines of cloning from a few cells or are you intermingling cells from different plants to grow a new hybrid ?
