CFL PC CASE GROW, first and second attempts :-P

Thanks Scrub, I've been doing the LST thing as shown but still getting a nice fat cola at the top. Can't complain too much cos I love fat colas but I thought all the buds were supposed to be fat colas.

Still have about 2 weeks to go before chop chop on Padme. I weakened and sampled a small, immature little bud, hardly a bud more a flower. It had some resin glistening under the flouros but way under the canopy so smoked it in a bong, barely filled half the cone (bowl) but WOW!!!! I could still feel the stone hours later, very Indica body stone it is. I'm so hanging out for the end of the drying period. If I can stop sampling the little ones that is.

Her leaves have perked up nicely, turns out I had been overwatering for quite some time. Backed off the water for a few days and she looks so much better now.

I popped 4 C99 seeds into some soil, 3 made it above the surface and one never even said hello. Then one got caught in the seed case and I tried to help it off and ended up taking half the cotyledns (spelling?) It's still growing but very small right now. Yet to start taking pics of them but once the start with some bigger growth I'll snap away.

Right now I have a drying case to build. Oh yeah, it's another PC case, might do a photo journal of it once it finishes if anyone's interested.

How many watts do you have for the flowering cab? (you were juggling around a bit if I remember right)

And bugasman, do a thread, we want to see you pc. I got 5 of those Thai super skunks, gifted from attitude. (first and last time I'll order through them!) I still have no idea if I'll grow them in the pc, sativas generally being super tall and all that. The three months of flowering time is daunting to say the least, but hopefully good smoke.

Sorry brother to wait almost two months for my reply. The motive I didn't created a thread here is because I still need to do some modifications in my PC case. My Thai Super Skunk is two months old (1 month flowering). After six weeks flowering I will make a thread, maybe soon. The reason I'm growing it is because I lost all my 5 seeds I bought due my lack of knowledge about marijuana grow. I got luck, and my last freebie was a girl and she liked very well her limited space. Yeah, is hard to grow a super sativa in a tiny space, I'm doing LST like you. Another problem, this is my first grow ever, so I will not yield the max of a PC-grow.

Congratulations to your micro-farm. The plants are beautiful.

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies.

Hey Scrub, currently running 70W, but still in heat range, ususally up to 34*C. I may have to redesign the lights, the way I have it now is too much heat, even with the 120mm fan. I'm adding some vents in the floor in the next couple of days, kind of like the ones you used in the elevation station. and make the exhaust a little larger. More cutting!



Definately a time for an update.

Finally the in-laws have left and have more time to spend in the cases. Padme is close to "finishing", the plan is to re-veg her and keep her as a mother and I thought a staggered harvest will ease her into the veg state.

So far, small pre-flowers have started to grow on the lowest branches.

Tasty top cola

With the staggered harvest, I'll hopefully avoid getting her close to death and then reviving her. It's not a case of an over-eager stoner plucking off buds to smoke, but I had to sample to see how each different phase of thrich color feels like.

It's damn good smoke, it takes a while to hit but when it does it keeps this over-eager stoner going up. I'm thinking of crossing the Gigabud with C99, create a strain called Amadala, just for fun.

Leia keeps packing on the cola too. The next LST I do I thinki i'll tie the top over, under the pot rim to get the auxins going to the lower buds, then let it up after the 12/12 flip.

I've seen some seed pods forming so I'll have more seeds in four weeks.

The main cola;

3 out of the 4 C99 seeds I planted popped. Then the third one got caught in seed and I tried to help it off after a couple of days but ended up breaking those cotylen and is the smallest.

Then the adapter knocked out of the plaug and I had no exhaust, so the first one, the largest couldn't take it and did a nice face plant in the soil. She/he revived after some water and airflow.

So the second one is the strongest and will be cloned and go into flower first to determin sex. And if there's a male, I'll cross with a 12/12 from seed Gigabud.

The 12/12 GB grew upside down and I very, very carefully turned it the right way, I didn't even touch with one, just the soil around it. No pics yet.



The drying case.

Just an ordinary pc case, lots of duct tape to make it airtight, an early scrubber design that I didn't use and a rack I think came off a pet carrier that is almost the perfect size. Ten minutes with a hammer an it fitted perfectly.

Looking forward to filling it in the near future, and posting the pics here.

Mk, the case is easy to make, just an exhaust fan, a scrubber and somewhere to hang the buds. And most of it was free, there was a hard rubbish night where people leave their junk by the street and gets removed by the local council.

Amazing how some people think an old computer is useless. I picked up 7 of them, thinking of having a room look like the NASA control room. LOL

I'm hoping so cheese. I'm thinking if I cut the bud from just above the second set of preflowers I should have about 10 cloneable cuttings in a few weeks.

I'm feeding with treacle (molassess) and rain water untill the end of harvest, then I'll give it a good N tea. After a few days i'll trim the root ball and repot her into a smaller container in the vegbox.

hey basscadet can u give me some input on ur scrubber, or where u got that design from. the lack of vertical, or horizontal in this case, is something that im really interested. all the crubbers i have seen are alot longer and bulkier and it will touch my lights, or just prevent me from adding a light by my exhaust

I've noticed in my grow with cfl's the ballast of the bulb is what puts off the real heat. You got some pretty ladies there, I hope the re-veg works out for you. I'll have my toes and eyes crossed too. I am gonna try to reveg my "first lady" that was from seed if it doesn't work I have a cutting thats in my vegputer.

It's been a long time since I've had paper, but I think there's still some floating around my THC stream.

Matero, the scrubber is a very simple mod of bongasaurus' scrubber. I found plastic screw-top jars and cut the end off with a hacksaw and then glued some wire mesh on the inside. I left a gap between the cut end and the mesh and filled that with activated carbon and covered it with another layer of mesh and secured that with lots of duct tape.

I'll post pics when I get a chance. This past week has been reveging Padme.
The top cola looks descent sized here without a scale.

So I keep the lighter away now.

All up, without scales, it looks like I got about 12-13 grams. Not bad for a first try.

Now to the second try.
