Male Chauvinist Pigs Should Not Exist in the 21st Century

Girls, it seems that discrimination against women is still alive and well in the USA.

I don't think men and women are equal. I like my door opened, and help with a jar of pickles that I can't get the lid off of. If there is something heavy to be lifted, I bow to the gentlemen.

Men are wonderful inventions, and I love em. Life would be dull without ya'll!

Here's a few examples of discrimination that I've experienced in the last couple of weeks alone.

1) 2 cars of dudes pull up in my driveway to sit and talk and drink beer. I don't know these dudes and walk out to tell them to get off my property and they smart mouth me. All of the other houses around have guys who live at the properties, so they picked mine to sit on?

2) Went to buy a shotgun at a store and Dude behind the sales counter waited on 3 guys who got in line behind me first. They were buying shells. I wanted a shotgun. I left without buying it.

3) Married guy I know just whips it out in front of me! I got out some scissors and asked if he needed any help with getting that back in there where it belongs.

4) Another guy who is married to one of my friends asked me to have an affair... yuck.

Being an independent woman in the 21st century is such a battle. " These rings that I got... I bought em.. Shoes on my feet... I bought em... All you women independent... Throw your hands up! "

Sorry, i know this is a womens forum and all....but i don't really think 1, 3, or 4 really constitute male chauvinism....more just plain ole disrespect.

If chauvanism shouldn't exist...neither should feminism since woman now have all the same rights as men legally.

In the same breath even though you contradicted yourself, chivalry shouldn't exist either.

You're a strong independent woman yet you like your door to be opened? The issue here is women of today want to have their cake and eat it too. they want to be treated equally yet still receive all of the same courtesies that were extended to women before you had equal rights.

Chivalry was a way to treat women nicely for doing all that they did and all that they put up with back in the day. Nowadays, saying you have it easy is an understatement of gigantic proportions.

Mrs B is a strong independent woman ... but she knows i still like to open the doors for her and feel like a gentleman. As strong as she is she is smart enough to know what makes me feel good and let me feel like Im her guy and take care of her. Its not like she couldnt do without me ... but shes smart enough to know when to be strong or let me take the reins and feel like Im her man and take care of her.

It's not just in the States. I've lived everywhere including parts of Asia, and I assure you it's alive and well globally. Along with racism and all other demographics. Even though the century has turned, it's still the same old shit basically.

Most of my friends are guys, I realy only hang out with a couple of chicks. Chivalry is not dead. Thoes guys were just being ass holes. It goes both ways, chicks can be vendictive, selfish, ****s just the same. It's all just a reflection of the type of person they are, reguardless of sex, race, religion... Just my opinion.

LolaGal, there is a difference between chauvinism and lack of manners, though both are learned behavior. Chauvinism has existed since the beginning of time and exists in every culture , with the possible exception of those cultures with matrilineal descent(inheritance goes through the mothers side).

It is unfortunate that many young men(those under 40) have not had the training in manners and common courtesy that some of us old farts had. We are simply from a different era. However, even some of us old farts are confused by you modern gals, who demand equality, but also want special treatment. Equality means that you pay for 1/2 the date, open the door yourself and put the seat down on the toilet and quit bitching about it. Some of us old guys still have manners, but are losing them due to the extreme rudeness of the "modern" female.

Simple common courtesy means that we open the door for all people(not just women), help other folks with packages and go out of our way to be kind and respectful to everyone, regardless of age, sex or race. That seems to be an aspect in our modern culture that is dying fast.

You must be a real fox if all these guys are hitting on you and whipping out their junk. Since you are a female grower, come down to Socal(just above the border) and I will treat you like the Goddess you want to be. The shotgun won't be necessary, just gardening tools!(and Viagra!)

LolaGal - Would you have felt better if those guys that hit on you in such a crude way would have instead said "I wouldn't f#@* you with his dick."?
