108W CFL Speaker Run!

Thanks for keepin us updated Jebus, your ladies are looking fantastic! The paint helps too. Oh and yeah I like the adjustable light, I have been trying to set somethin up like yours but just falls barely short of horizontal space. I'm really shootin to come up with a way to have the 3 bulbs adjustable (instead of mounted to the top) in hopes of keeping the plants a lot shorter and maybe even try a scrog. Right now the fan and a darkroom louver are somewhere in the mail system. Was gonna abandon my speaker but after seeing this thread I decided what the hell and motivation was sparked again. No pun intended hehe :joint:

PS do you still have light leaks? Do you have any filters or odor killer?

So, as of now its a total of 73w in .65 sq feet. Which equates to at least 100w/sq ft i imagine and according to my algebra from before..(ASSuming i did it right. any input on the right equation would be appreciated)

Thanks again!

You did it right bro. Then it's just 73 divided by .65 to get watts per square foot.

I did it in my head and got 112.30769230769230769230769230769 watts per square foot.

His problem is that temps are currently too high. Maybe you are too. :)

Just effin with ya! :)

Right, but I guess I don't understand how eliminating an active intake is going to keep temps lower when that intake is not only creating an actice air current, but also pulling in cooler air from outside the cab anyway. An out take moves way less air it would seem.

Right, but I guess I don't understand how eliminating an active intake is going to keep temps lower when that intake is not only creating an actice air current, but also pulling in cooler air from outside the cab anyway. An out take moves way less air it would seem.

Scenario #1:

The exhaust fan is pulling whatever it is capable of pulling out of the cab. As it pulls air out of the cab, it creates a vacuum IN the cab. That vacuum in the cab sucks air in through the passive exhaust exactly and only as fast as the exhaust fan can remove it.

Scenario #2:

The exhaust fan is pulling whatever it is capable of pulling out of the cab. The intake fan is blocking the passive intake, so what comes into the cab is whatever the intake fan can bring in, which can cause both fans to work harder as they fight each other. Also the intake is creating POSITIVE pressure in the cab (opposite of vacuum)... which means there is air pressure building in the cab and that certain areas of the cab may build up pockets of heat, since more air is coming in than going out.

The passive intake solves the problem in scenario #2 because it reduces back pressure on the exhaust fan, allowing it to work more efficiently. It also ensures that the air exchange in the cab is exactly what the exhaust fan can handle, which means air circulates through the cab in an "orderly" way... as air is exhausted, a vacuum is created which pulls in exactly enough fresh air from outside.

This is not my own personal theory. You can read about it on hundreds of threads in this community.

I hear ya, brother. I only had a few "real" genetics seeds (4 AK47s... 1 never made it to the surface of the soil and 2 were male.. so I only have my single AK and 12 random "good" bag seeds. Only one of them is impressing me enough at this point to be a good candidate for a SOG momma along with Ms. AK47. But they were free seeds from unknown genetics, so what the hell, right? 1 out of 3 beats 1 out of 12. :joint:

True 1/3 is better then 1/12, good that you have atleast 1 legit strain. The plant smells just like this bud i used to pick up just straight up fruity goodness.

Thanks for stoppin by. The adjustable lights i dont even adjust even though i can, its easier to prop up the plant with books. Its easy to do though, just use some string/chain and buy some hooks to screw in. Glad i motivated you!

Atm, I do have light leaks, plan on getting some weather stripping soon, not today because im damn tired off of 2 hrs of sleep. As for odor control, i have the capability but am not using it yet. I plan on trying to not use it, but i know ill end up having to. I already got some carbon and leggings to stuff with it.

Here are some pics for those interested!

I feel as if the 2 plants on the right are not coming along as fully/quickly as i'd like.

Its been about 30 days since the day of 12/12 switch. Im hoping they will start to pack it on like the left one has. Considering they have atleast 25 days if not 30-40 days left we will see only time will tell.

I have light sealed it, the edges with weather stripping and made light traps for the intake and outtake!

Misc.

They are a tad droopy because they had just been watered after needin it.

Thanks for stoppin by!

like cheesebuds said, they are looking very nice! So you are down to 3 bulbs now right? Are you running a mixed spectrum or all 2700k?

dammm they looken very very very nice.how many weeks flower r they.

Are you just gogglin at the pics :yummy: and not reading what i say haha.
The pics were taken at about 30 days from the 12/12 flip, not from first pistle sighting btw. And the ladies say thanks for the compliments!

Mixed, the 2 hanging horizontal are 23w 2700k and i have a 27w 5500k hanging in the middle. So its not 108w anymore, its 73w.

Also, got some smell control going on, instead of settin up the carbon atm, got a Renuizit raspberry scented thing.
and you couldn't really smell the plants unless lights were on or you went over to the corner by the cab, but now my whole room smells delicious! hah

I think at the wattage you have (~112psqft) you're about right for distribution of light for this grow method. looking sweet now too. nice work sah

Sorrrry For the long awaited update. Shit gets busy, i am sure you all understand.

They are coming along SOOO great! Even the 2 i thought would never befriend me started to warm up to me and show their true colors!

It seems they are clear/cloudy, and some ambers on the one that are stacking calyx's like mad , but it seems only parts of the buds have amber and others are straight clear cloudy. So i think im giving them to day 55 of 12/12 before i check the trichs again.

ATM we are on day 47 of the 12/12 switch.

I am hoping to grab about an ounce, but that won't happen unless the other 2 plants start to fatten up like the one.
Unfortunately i had to removed the hanging light to lower temps, and the plants responded well to this, and now i can hang the light damn near touching them and i don't have to worry. so it should be okay, they are packing on the trichs and starting to REEEEK something fierce

Incoming LOTS of PICS!

Awesome Jebus! They look soooo good! Was dying for updates haha. Are you using bagseeds or genetics? How many did you start with and did you ever change containers? How many males, if any, did you pull? Anyways, thanks for the updates, really inspiring. Hope you get what you are aiming for and post final weight and smoke report. Take it easy! :canabis:

Top job! You gonna flush?

yeah i am starting the flush now, i really didn't give them much ferts throughout the grow but when i did it was miracleshit ferts. So im still flushing a good few weeks!

They are bagseeds. I planted 8, pretty sure 6 sprouted, 2 males, 1 female i pulled that i thought was male until i got a closer look after she was pulled, but its okay, 3 plants are enough because they really fill up the cab so anymore would be over crowding.

I will certainly post final weights and such, but they wont be cut for a couple weeks if things go accordingly.
