DP Power Plant cab grow 250w from seed

Hello everyone

I recently started 6 Dutch Passion Power Plant seeds in cups with a decent commercial soil mix (Ballino?) - nice texture and seems to have quality ingredients, just needed plenty of perlite - supplemented with a few additives (earth worm castings, kelp meal, fishbone meal). I planted the seeds 2 weeks ago today. Only 4 actually sprouted. I checked the other 2 and they germinated but somehow didn't actually sprout. The plants are sitting under an 80w 4 foot fluoro fixture for now.

My plan for these plants is to clone them and flower them out, pick a mother and use the clones in hydro. This soil grow is only temporary as I had the supplies on hand versus spending some money to get the hydro set up again.

I haven't fed the plants anything yet of course. I dont have proper liquid veg nutrients (only FoxFarm GrowBig Hydro), but I'm hoping the soil additives will compensate for that until flower.

I will flower under a 250w CMH (if I can gather the money for a bulb) or HPS (already the bulb, but it's 2 grows old).

Heres the plants, 2 weeks from planting:

They are fairly uniform so far as they sprouted roughly all at the same time. I'm pleased with their progress so far. They seem to be okay despite temperature issues in the room (90's :spank: - this will be fixed).

Anyway, hopefully this will interest someone and I can contribute to the community somehow. Thanks for checking in.

why are the temps in the 90's? is that fluro putting off that much heat or is the room just always hot?

they don't look to be heat damaged though so thats good.

get that 250W CMH as soon as you can and those babys will take off.

do you already have a hydro setup ? if not stick to soil, but if you already have something made make sure you take your clones at the right time. if you are just growing for yourself i would just get some ocean forest and some grow big for soil transplant into 2-3 gallon, veg them about a month under the 250 and then hit 12/12 flower them out and take clones from the bottom of the plant when you are trimming the lower popcorn branches around day 10 of flower and put them in your hydro setup while your plants are budding. thats what id do but i don't know your whole plan how you have it worked out so this might not work at all for you but its a thought.

NorCalFor20: Thanks for stopping in. Temps are so high because it's summer time and my grow cab is upstairs in our attic. I've got an A/C for the room, but it hasn't been performing too well. I think its working fine now though. I do already have a decent amount of hydro gear. I will just need a new reservoir and tray with net pots & hydroton. I already have airpumps and airstones (I like to grow DWC). Your suggestions are basically what I intend to do, except I'll probably veg them a little less just because I have a fairly small area to flower in.

My wardrobe cabinet is 46" wide, 18" deep and 48" tall, so space is an issue. My last couple of crops in that cabinet were vegged too long and somewhat overgrew the cab. I really need to be able to take clones successfully and timed properly this time so that I dont have any problems next time around.

I realised after posting this that maybe I should've put it in the grow diaries section? I do intend to provide regular updates to this thread... Maybe a mod can move it? Thanks

basiclly the soil was completely dug out and replaced with fox farm ocean forest and perlite and watered with fox farm grow big during veg also used big bloom in veg as well it is essentially EWC and ok to use in veg. then in flower it was given tiger bloom.

edit: i believe the strain was romulan
