Genius X DeepChunk SOG T-5

I think I have finally amassed enough knowledge to actually make this happen. I have decided on a soil, short veg , sog, I find I had originally planned to do a much larger HID grow but thinking about the yields makes me uncomfortable. I’m a pretty regular toker, but I don’t really don’t want that kind of weight around my home. Let me know if you guys think I'm missing anything, or if you have any suggestions.

Light:
10,000 Lumen T-5 Fluro Fixture

Seems like there are a lot of options regarding using fluros, from what I can gather these might not be a bad idea. Should I use two fixtures double the wattage?

Fan & Odor Control:
PVC Elbows for passive intake and light catching
Panasonic 110 CFM WhisperCeiling Bathroom Fan w/ 4" Duct

The CFM still up in the air until I find the right piece of convertible furniture to put my cabinet in. I plan on using the fan to create a carbon filter similar if not exactly the same as the one in this thread.

Genetics
Canacopia Genius X DeepChunk from HempDepot

“Genius, mother to the Apollo 11 seedline by the now defunct Brother’s Grimm Seed Co., mated with our chosen Deep Chunk indicas. The resulting seeds produce flowers that retain the classic appearance and flavour of the mother, yet are vastly improved in terms of stature and growth characteristics. The Genius was floppy and in need of staking for support, but this generation of seed is more upright and self-supporting. Yield is above average (325-400 g/ sq m)

Flowering: 8-9 weeks.”

Miscellaneous Things:
Liquid Close Range PH Test Kit
Mylar
Weather Stripping
Temp/Humid Monitor
Flat White Paint
Timer
PVC Elbows for passive intake and light catching
Plant Sitter Automatic Watering Sensor 3 Pk (For Vacation)
Panty Hose to cover intake vents

Soil:
Fox Farm Ocean Forrest w/ Added perlite

Im a DIY’er so the premixed soil isn’t exactly my cup of tea but for the first round, that’s what it’s going to be

Nutes:
Whatever the all in one fox farm bottle is called.

This is a sick collection of equipment! I think it'll be fantastic. One thing to note, my elbows beam a hell of a lot of light out the back as they are. I still have to apply aquarium filter pad. It would be best to have each elbow attached to a second elbow, to give you 180 degrees, just that wasn't doable for me. Anyway, awesome. Great equipment choices.

T5 should be a good start. From what i've found out they are the Cadillac of fluorescents, going to use them to build my new cab too! More lumens will mean more buds for the most part but don't over do it. I would rather have two small SEPARATE grow spaces each with 10,000 lumens then one over sized piece of furniture with 20,000. This is because you could run two completely different grows, have redundancy in case one grow fails and you can also stager the harvests. I can much easier find a spot to fit a 4 bulb 2ft T5 fixture then a 8 bulb one.

I would start with one T5 @ 10K lumen first and get your skills down.

FFoF with perlite is a damn good soil! you can always run two small grows one with fox farm soil and one with your custom mix and see which does better!

I stopped by my local rebuilding center to look at cabinets, I found a couple things that looked like they might work. I am going to go back tomorrow morning and make a final decision. After I get my final measurements I'll have a couple of questions about # of plants that are appropriate for the space and maybe a change in style from SOG to SCROG. Light and Fans are on their way, and I have to send out the money order for the seeds when I go pick up the cabinet tomorrow. I think the only thing that inst coming in the mail is the carbon for the filter and the soil. Both of which I am guessing my local hydro store will have?

Yep you're hydro store should have filters and soil. Alternatively you could make your own filter if you are trying to save money. Make sure you add some additional perlite to FFOF or coco to help with drainage.

I think you misunderstood me, I said the carbon for the filter that I plan on building, if you're interested the link to the "DIY panasonic whisperlight fan + carbon filter" is in the op and here.

I think that eventually I will upgrade to a hid light, and I'm glad I'll have a quality veg light to reuse! Waste not want not.

My hydro store doesn't carry carbon, just pre made filters. I think you can get commercial refillable filters though, so you never know, yours may stock it.

In your country I think you can get it at home depot I read on here

I'll give them a call before I head to the store so I know what to expect. Im really trying to avoid chain stores in this endevour. I try to support the local stores whenever I can.

I'm really starting to reconsider my soil choices. I found out that there is an organic garden center less than a mile away from my house that lets you mix your own soil. They literally have these wooden crates labeled "Bat Guano", "Worm Casings"..etc.

So exciting! although I think that FFOF might still win out for this grow. I don't feel like I have read enough about soil to know exactly what I want yet, or at least comfortable enough to go ask about my "Tomato Plants".

Internal measurements

Height: 36"
Width: 21"
Depth: 24"

I've got a little under 2 square feet of floor space. Now I have to decide what style I want to do. I'd like to keep it under 6 plants because that is my states medical limit. So I figure 6 plants in a SOG style or 4 plants scrog or maybe 2 big plants. Although with the cfl's and their penetration I think that either SOG or SCROG would be better. This is an aspect I am having a hard time imagining. Help?

Looks like this will be a good one.

That cabinet looks like it will be easy enough to light to light proof.I hope you post lots of picks as you work on it.

I like the micro grows.
