SSH is without a doubt one of the top 5 hybrids found in seed on the market that satisfies nearly all that grow her...i also highly recommend MNS MangoWidow which is (NL/Sk/Hz x Brazil Sativa/South Indian hyrid) and is some seriously CHAMPION material...i think if you are looking for a good HAZE Mr. Nice seeds is the first place to look as both Neville and Shantibaba have combined their great work under one company...all the best
SSH is ideal for daytime smoking,, it's sure not wake n bake material.. far more refined in outlook... just a couple of hits and you want to be off exploring stuff. Great for gardening

Thanks guys she is a woudefull strain to grow. Her nugs are very dense(hard as a rock) Can't wait to try some of the F2 freebies I got.

I think I have the same. It smells acrid and tastes just the same. Has a good strong high and is a an average yielder. The leaves are shriveled and pointy and there is yellow pigmentation streaks in the middle of the leaves. A real freak. You're so busy marvelling over the unusual taste that ya don't notice right away that something kicked upside the head.

I simply did not want to whine..... It's all good. I could have paid a little more attentio to the beans... I tried to germinate 8, and my friend got 3 to pop from the other 7.
No hard feelings, I would order another pack of SSH from him, but I may wait for the NL#5 X Haze that I heard he was releasing soon.
The MRN SSH I grew from the one MOM... DOES have many positive aspects.... I am smoking a 2 month cured indoor bud now... Highly refined buzz, FO SHO'..
I do not love the flavour (personal tastes). But, when I can enjoy it infrequently, the "Daytime" buzz is truly special... Also packs a punch, and can be smoked hit after hit, with no loss of energy....
I don;t think I ever tried it in a joint, maybe today is the day...
The 84 days in flower was my first issue. The flavour the second... Having said that, many people I know in Holland would say it was absolutely brilliant. A lot of the Sativas in The Nederlands taste like this..
It yielded very well, with long, running beautiful crystalline buds, so some may say to factor that in... The Local Club finally saw the light, and asked me for more... No, working on other things now...
I am running 4 clones of GHS SSH at day 36, from 2 different moms. - indoors and out. 2 clones of each of the 2 phenos that I got from from 5 (standard..?) GHS souvenir seeds given away at the C Cup two years ago....
At day 36, indoors, they both smell absolutely wonderful, and similar. The Bud shape is like the classic SSH photos, lucky me...
One is taller, less branchy than the other. They both have Needle-thin leaves, with high crystal production all over.... They look like they will take 70+ days... VERY THICK PISTIL hairs...
The more squat one (#2) is very happy outdoors, with thick green stalks....
I am impressed, and did not expect to be. Rumour - and ONLY RUMOUR - had it that the pot contained in the souvenir cUP pack was from a pound of Shanti-Grown SSH (It was spectacular).... And that the seeds also contained in the nifty-bubble-pack were not the same as the pot contained within.
Who knows......???? Not me...lol

thanks all for posting and helping make up my mind. so to sum it up: most everyone loves and has had success with SSH (freebies or not). Everyone and their grandmother has grown it. It's an easy-to-grow and vigorous sativa, taking anywhere between 8-9 weeks thru 14, but 12 being a good target. Smell can vary between spicy to incense to sweet floral, generously coated in large trichs, and many folks have said it's one of their strongest and favorite keeper strains.

i thought it was the super lemon haze that won it in 07? might just be me i'm pretty stoned,
nope SLH won in 08 and is better IMO. I just finished a SLH grow and it is very very good Some of the best I have grown. The taste,smell is lemon candy with a hint of skunky dank covered in frost. The yield is very poor though head stash for sure.

With all due respect to all concerned, although I do like the smoke, and the yield was pretty durn good, I am not keeping the Mom of mRN SSH....
I still say 84 days is ridiculous to spend indoors on anything...
Will see how the souvenir GHS SSH seeds 2 phenos do. As I said, I expected not much... But, they are looking great at 37 days 12/12.. Both phenos. One is more spear-shaped buds, the other rounded tops, that look like they will hook up.. Both look to be good yielders.. Both smell similar. A strong cannabis/minty/dank smell. Hard to describe at this juncture. Not a terribly uncommon
odour, but when one rubs some trichs and smells it, it is a GREAT, strong smell.
None of that "SnoCap" foody, garlicky, grassy funk that my ONE MRN SSH MOM provided. Although, it did cure to a decent flavour, it is not one that I like.
Crossing fingers on the GHS SSH's... Clones taken.

is it strange or unheard of for a SSH to take longer than 11, cuz week 7 ain showin a whole lotta calyxes and hairs, and i think i may have started giving her ass carbs too soon, cuz this arjans is lookin like it may finish right on schedule wit tha 11 wks maybe 1.5-2 wks longer but tha bud already started frostin, and this nevilles is a whole nutha level of bush, almost scarely intrusive with space consumption, ye but is 13-14 wks outrageous for the Super Silver Haze?? My first attempt with it and i dont know, all helps will be appreciated...

Can you describe this pheno in a bit more detail, pics maybe? I've always been interested in off smelling strains (pukey/shitty/pissy) I love awful smells.
84 days aint that bad considering it supposedely has a healthy sativa stretch to it and requires very little veg time. No personal experiance with this strain, just what I've picked up on the boards.But whats the diff between 84 days flower + 1 week veg after rooting and 60 day flower + 3-4 weeks of veg after rooting, seems to me it just about evens out.
