hitching used to be fun ,
i hitched half way around europe when i was younger and would always hitch in the uk to save train fares ,
i enjoyed hitching so much i got a job delivering cars and would hitch from 1 delivery to another ,on my trade license plate i used to have wanker written backwards so if someone looked back in their mirror after not picking me up it called them a wanker lol,

in those days i would gladly pick a hitcher up just for the company ,these days i wouldnt :noway:

I hitch-hiked right across the U.S.A when I was in my late teens......best way I found to do it was to find a truck stop, chat up the waitress and get her to put a sign up behind the cash register concerning your destination and then hang out till one of the truckers said OK......

I went from Poughkeepsie (upstate N.Y.) to Mobile (Alabama).....to Baton Rouge(Louisiana)......to Dallas/Ft Worth(Texas) then on to L.A. and up to San Francisco once......took 5 days and I still had the same $5 in my pocket when I got to S.F......those truckers were good people, fed me and mostly were good company all the way.......

But the most unusual hitch had to be from Bongao to Zamboanga in the Philippines, the boat left me but the mail service collection by small plane saved me :woohoo:

I have a few times, mainly cuz i know what its like.
i walked 3 hours from isle of palms (rich ass snobs) SC, to mount pleasant before i was picked up one time.
That's a hike dude. Isle of Palms is okay - it's a wannabe Cape Cod. The houses were sweet though. I remember taking the bus all the way from downtown Charleston to Ise of Palms, was like an hour. I wonder how much houses cost there. They're all just waiting to be battered by the next big hurricane though
