I had a pit bull survived parvo at 6 months old.

I think your buddy will pull through just fine! Dogs are amazingly resilient, upbeat, and positive members of the family.

I'm sure he's thinking about you just as much as you are about him!

...blazing one up for a speedy recovery...:joint::joint:

im really sorry Betty, that sucks. However, I can NOT relate with you on the surgery part - most people don't have thousands of dollars to throw down for vet bills. I've had to put plenty of animals down due to a broken this or messed up that - because we didn't have the money to pay for the vet.
You have a lucky dog. Most other people would have posted the same as you did, followed by "so we had to put him to sleep, seeing the vet wanted 5k."

well, I don't have thousands of dollars to throw down for surgery really either. I've basically begged and borrowed the cash for the surgery and am thankful that I have that kind of support right now. I know I could easily lose him for lack of funds. It's a heartbreaking societal issue, the lack of financial options for vet care. It's been a very emotional, exhausting and testing day.

Here's a pic of my darlin. Thanks for all the great vibes.

good to hear you have people you can count on. Poor little guy. Wonder how long he'll be "laid up" after operating?

Hi Betty ....beautiful baby you have there! Looks like a nice, strong boy!

I'm sure he'll pull through just fine.

When I adopted my rescues, I signed a contract to carry insurance (41.00 dollars monthly) on them....I thought it was crazy at first, but your story brings it very close to home for me.

Good Vibes :joint:

Sending you warmth and comfort...stay calm for him, he can sense your emotions. He's a young boy, he should recover well...glad he's okay.

I hope everything goes well! I have a dog and he got a hole ripped in his face (.50 cent) size and he is better now..... I hope your dog gets better soon.

I'm so sorry to hear that. = ( Losing a pet can be very difficult. I had to put my dog down when she was only 10 yrs old.

My thoughts and sympathies are with you AtomicBetty.......I have a young Boxer called 'Brutus' who earlier this year decided to chase after a stink-badger and got squirted in the eye which led to a nasty infection that has left him blind in one eye and made him very sick for a few weeks.....the vet was going to remove the eye with surgery, but he responded well to the anti-biotic's and it has cleared up now and he has been eating well and has put on a little weight........and basically is fine 'cept he is blind in one eye ....

I live for my dogs....all 9 of them and love them to bits.... if they get hurt it hurts me too like it is hurting you just now.....I hope that your dog recovers and gets back in shape soon.....youth is on his side and dogs can be incredibly resilient....all the best....

*to possibly help cheer you up a bit here is a pic of the whole pack (minus 3 new one month old puppies from Zack and Pow, a Rottie and a Dobie).....
