Apartment Growing

The latter situations is the worse one because you share an HVAC system it sounds like.

One thing you have to worry about is the codes and fire inspection. Atleast in my neck of the woods they do these. I just had one done on 7/01. It was a real bitch. I rented U-haul and had a lot of breakin down to do. But beyond that if growin where you rent you wanna find a landlord who has a lot of propeties in my opinion. They usually are not around and the maintenance only comes when you call. This is just my experience and opinion

Back when I used to live in an apartment, before I started growing pot, a cop knocked on my door at about 3:00 in the morning. I had just smoked a few bowls and I know my apartment reeked. I opened the door and it turns out he was looking for the old apartment manager that used to live in my unit. Apparently their records still had her on file as living in my apartment. She hadn't lived there for over a year. So anything can happen people.

Maybe. Even if it does, don't they usually have something that stops one person's ventilation from blowing into the others? A blowback system or something like that?

I am also talking small grows. A Rubbermaid CFL grow or a small dresser turned grow cab, in which case you wouldn't vent into the HVAC anyways.

why does that matter? run a sealed room or exhaust/intake room outside or into th attic; either way your air flow has nothing to do with theirs

my best advice for apartment growing is this:

live there for a month or two to figure out the area and the characteristics of neighbors , foot traffic , maintenance assholes , inspections

once you've been there for awhile you know what you can pull off. for instance, a few people around me smoke weed and ciggs, so right there is a safety feature in case your odor control isn't up to snuff. younger people usually dont give a shit about weed smell hanging around if one of your filters quits working

my second tip is to do it in a ritzy place. get an apartment that you'd normally not be willing / able to pay for and make up the difference with your show and you'll reap the benefits of having landlords that realize your just a good source of income who lives the upper-middle-class lifestyle. what landlord is gonna want to inspect his place for grow ops more? the one who rents out his run-down apartment building or 50 year old rural rancher or the one who rents his luxury condo in a high-end area to a "software engineer"?

Make it look like you are an international weapons dealer, who sometimes grows drugs!

Keep some catalogs for MIGs, tanks and other Soviet hard ware. Some dangerous goods in the house too, just for an impression.
