word up man appreciate the qiuck answers so i'll definatly be out looking for a bigger res and i'll have to go get some 2 in cups i see what your saying about the bigger cups sitting lower, good call. i think i read that you veg about 2 weeks? and you must be using a bubble cloner(those things are da shit) i made one outta a rubbermaid tub with a few air stones and get roots in 2 weeks with just plain water 1 week with clonex solution man i love that thing.
the strain im going with is a clone from a clone from a friend one of those type deals not really sure what it is but it produces like a motha ran 2 thru an aquamist a friend has with the 6 in net cups ,nice rooted clones, vegged two weeks, finished in 8 weeks, 8 ounces of one and 6 off the other using advance nuts with light feedings. thats what turned me on to areo then i found your thread and bam-ba-lam.
do you forsee any problem(besides the weight, def will have to make a good support system) running 8x8(or 7x7) rows of the 2 in net cups with about 4 in space rim to rim, with 16 of the sprinkler heads with the misting caps spaced evenly underneath.maybe a 30 or 35 gallon res? i expect that if i lollipop em i should be able to get close to or as much as doing 24 bigger plants spaced out more. but with those fat juicy colas i saw in your pics:yoinks: they were so beautiful and thats mad bag appeal and i think it would be worth a little weight to see someones jaw drop when you hand them those. plus no one likes getting a bag that looks all shitty:noway:anyways sorry to keep bugging ya i'm just a firm believer in two heads is better than one and you obviously know your shit so thanks again and congrats on quitting smoking :dueling:keep it up

Pirate, Just a quick question. I have a 39w x 39h x 18d space in my cabinet for flowering. I am really liking the aero method. I am looking at to different styles. One is a tray with maybe 8 sites and the other is just a 5x5 pvc post cover with four sites. If I go with the tray is the height of 6" deep enough. I think that is how deep your trays are correct?

On a second note your grows always look great and inspire alot of us. Thanks

Pirate thanks for taking the time to show how you "do it yourself".
My brain is processing all of the information. Just read the whole thread in one sitting.... wow. Looks like all I need to plan a little system.

Great work on the not smoking thing.... you still fighting?:dueling:
My deadline is the 4th (Independence day) Wish me luck.
I keep thinking of it as an IQ test..... I am very arrogant and can't stand to think I'm just stupid :noway:

Thanks man.

I think your space is to shallow (deep) for a tray.

I would go with fence posts or a tub if some sort if your limited to 18 inches deep. Rubbermaid type. Home depot has some pretty nice looking tubs for around 30 bucks. Very thick and heavy with a yellow top. Check em out.

6 inches is deep enough for a tray. however...If you do the tub......It will act as a Rez / root zone / growth top....all in one thereby saving space for canopy height. A very viable option.

Whats up Hippy !! Welcome to ICMAG.

Well........its along story about my smoking. I'll try to keep it short.

The morning of day #4.... I received news that my incarcerated brother has been diagnosed with an advanced case of a terminal desease.:fsu: The good news is that he gets out in less than 2 weeks. I hadn't quit smoking long enough to overcome the stress of that news and I gave into temptation.

I did realize that.........there is no point in TWO dying of cancer so I will not allow myself to be suckered into my own delusion. I am re-quitting on Thursday now that I am over the initial shock of such bad news. I still can't sleep or think much about anything else but my brother.

The prison will not give us ANY info whatsoever except that........Yes he is alive. We are totally in the dark on everything else. All we know is we received a "Deathbed" letter from him and he didn't know if he would make it to release. It is that bad.

I want him to die a free man and in my arms. Not in a prison cell !!!!

I thought I read about somebody converting a bathtub or sink to do
a super-charged aeroponic but it did not come up in a search.

Using pirate's method old bathtubs can become aero units like the aquamist.
Just lay the acrylic across the top and sprayers down under & has a drain built-in. Old sinks too. Fiberglass or porcelin.

Here' an old method I remembered the other day from a wheelchair bound person.

Take old refrigerator (from the dump) and strip out the doors, shelves, compressors, etc. lay down on its back, construct a drain out and it can be filled with soil for soil grow or it could be supercharged aero by laying the acrylic on top and sprayers inside.
You can put wheels on the back/bottom to move around.
The Pirate method can be used in many containers.

In fact I'm laying down the pirate-method-gauntlet for the aero challenge.
Turn an old claw foot bath-tub into a pirate-method aero with/ pics.
I don't have the room but there is an old tub behind the garage.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Pirate.

I'm sorry to hear the news about your brother. I hope you and he find the closure you seek. I'm not a praying man, but you and your family will be in my thoughts.

Thanks for all your advice.

Thanks everyone !!

I will know what t he hell is going on in a little over a week.

I'm not sleeping with worry. Without a doubt I can say that my little brother.(who happens to be 37 and not so little) is my best friend and has been for our whole lives. We've stuck together like glue.

so a little advice for anyone wanting to make one of these wonderful units. stick with the 3x3. once you get to the 4x4 the plexiglass has to be specially ordered and its a pain in the ass. but i should have mine set up tonight so i'll try and get some pics up for everyone to enjoy if you dont mind pirate

indeed when i was arrested after spending 3 days in county complaining to guards that i need xanax because i was taking at least 30 mg a day and them just laughing at me. I ended up in the hospital two hours after getting out for five more days and had over 35k in medical bills.

I do not mind if ya post some photos of your unit. And you are so right about the 4x4 verses 3x3.

This is why mine are 3x3. Far easier to work with for many reasons.

Hey,

I'm considering doing something with aero for my veg space which all i require is 3 plants.. with about 40cm in grow height (flower room has about 1.8m)

could you combine dwc style buckets with aero? as in the res is also the aero container? similar to i guess the aero cloner's all in one rubbermaid style thing?

i just need to get the plants about 1-2ft before transfering to the flower room..
