is a complete waste of time and total insult to medical and recreational cannabis use, cultivation and breeding.

Don't waste your time on this garbage movie.
It will only piss you off like it did me.

it's not like normal was funding it....

although PE didn't do much for the movement, it's not nearly as bad as what the fast & the furious did to the import tuner scene....

It's my opinion...and I'm sticking to it.
Waste of time and money renting this piece of crap.
Script was filled with all the ignorant stereotypes the legalization movement fights hard to put behind us.

As far as comedy goes, it was painfully too stupid.
So bad that me and my wife were tortured waiting for it to finally end.

My advice, don't rent it, spend your money on a worthwhile movie like "Gran Torino"

didn't see it all, didnt think much of the crime plot but the early scene with him scoring the weed was hilarious, the guy playin the dealer was great, the retro touch was cool :D

10k i know where yer coming from, to be taken seriously about the medical benefits ... but you know weed IS different, enough that many can joke and laugh about it. don't see too many comedies about people snorting mounds of coke, or bangin stuff, those movies are always saaad ... or hear about people talkin bout setting up other legal stores for drugs and the govt taxing them :yoinks:

I liked it alot. It was fun, and lived up to any expectations one could set for it upon knowing who made it.

I don't think it's their responsibility to "represent" medical marijuana.

Most people smoke pot to get high. Plain and simple.

I enjoyed it. There's a whole segment of the cannabis using population who does so in an incredibly irresponsible manner. I thought it represented this slice of cannabis reality pretty well. Not condoning it, just saying it exists. I liked the scene where the two dudes show up to the stoner dealer's apartment to get some schwag and ask if he can get them some pain pills. This reminded me of so many of the toolbags I used to deal with when I was younger and had me cracking up.

I agree man , I seen it and it was rubbish..Not a good stoner film , its trying to hard to be funny and fails miserably..The film was good for the first 10 mins and then downhill all the way from there.... IMO a good stoner film is Tenacious D and the pick of destiny..I thought that was a briliant film WITH A FEW SPLIFFS.

Spoiler alert...

Spoiler alert...

I was sort of bummed out by the phone call scene at the end where he blames his social and relationship problems on smoking weed. Seems like some self loathing going on with Rogan-wouldnt' be surprised if 5 years from now he's the anti drug cliche, talking about the ails of herb.

Admittedly, though, I found the film to be harmless and funny as hell. I thought the dealer as well as the semi shady "friend" were absolutely hilarious parts, well written and well acted.

For a movie that was suppose to be a one-liner easy to watch laugher, it fulfilled it's obligation to me, and then.

I think I fell asleep in the middle of it, I'm not much of a comedy fan to begin with so based on my 1st impression of the film I won't be putting forth the effort to watch it again.

Pineapple Express was so great!!! I really loved that movie. I laughed so hard because a lot of it is so true! of course it is all crazy with the guns and all that but that is what makes an exciting movie these days. I didn't walk away thinking that all marijuana movers are uzi toting asians or what have you. It's a comedy!

Seth Rogan, and especially James Franco did an awesome job! And Danny McBride what a great character as Red! xD

It's a movie, and more specifically a comedy. If you expected ANYTHING seriously resembling realistic "medical and recreational cannabis use, cultivation and breeding" then you have some serious issues. lol

How you figured it had anything to do with cultivation and\or breeding is beyond me..... Seems like you got the absolute WRONG impression of this movie when you chose to watch it.

Still a GREAT film. :)

the movie was made an intended to be that way...it's not like they made a movie NOT knowing the things about weed.. it was hilarious and a great movie. you look to deep into things and are expecting a drama when it was a comedy.
