Pure Power Plant vs. Power Plant...

I've heard that you can't go wrong with Power if your a sativa lover. My question is, who puts out the superior version? DP or Nirvana? Or does anyone consider a different variety better than these two? Looking for info from those who have grown them.

Much thanks!

BlueCrow,
I have not grown dp's power plant to finish but I am in the process of growing it. I popped 3 seeds in early april or late march and made an early mistake by not using a seedling mix but a potting mix for more mature plants with fertilizer already in it at a higher dose than they should have received. It didn't phase 2 and one was always stunted. Around 2 weeks in 1 of the 2 took off and left the others behind then came the trials and tribulations. I sprayed some Repels All by Bonide and got mauled by armadillos. They broke #2 plant in half, dug up and tossed my #3 plant and nothing thank goodness messed with my best one. I am 31 degrees north and they all started flowering over 3 weeks ago which really surprised me. As of today my best plant is over 6 ft tall and the other 2 are about 4 ft due to stress from me and the armadillos. In less than 24 hours the dug up plant looked like nothing ever happened and in 48 hours the plant that was snapped in half had completely healed and no longer needed a splint. I am very pleased with their abillity to take allot of abuse and keep going. I would definitely grow it again based on where they are today with what they have been through. I checked them today and the smell is coming on strong. If you have issues with mold it is supposed to be a great plant for that. As for nirvana's I don't know anything about them. Good luck.

the 2 strain got nothing to do with eachother.

They are both very good strains though(although some will disagree:D)

PPP looks frostier but i like PP more

I have some shaky info, all according to what I've heard other people say,

Nirvana's PPP gives a higher yield compared to Dutch Passions PP and it has a higher tendency to purple, however, it isn't actually "Pure" PowerPlant, it's a Powerplant hybrid, I'm not sure but I think it's crossed to Skunk#1. I've also heard one or both of the strains have Durban Poison in the lineage, (someone else also claimed it has white widow in its lineage but i'm skeptical). One thing that's been inconsistent is that some reports say they reek up their entire apartments, meanwhile others recommend them as low odor. Also, there used to be a video on youtube of someone who yielded 7oz off one plant in DWC, but didn't specify if it was DP or Nirvana, I remember they were baseball bat sized buds. Be sure to do a google video search, there's a bunch of clips of this strain. FInal note, I've consistently heard potency is generic.

Hi
I did quite a few runs with DP PP a few years ago and IMO it is an excellent stain to grow and smoke. It is a big yielding 8week sat-with more of a speedy than trippy hit. A stretchy strain that is v vigorous as long as you keep the nutes light-the only criticism i'd make is that the smell/taste is a bit generic-other than that i'd throughly reccomend it-just don't get the fem seeds as they hermie easily.
As for Nirvana's PPP-my friend did it and it seemed v different to the DP version-ok bud-nothing special. I don't know how (or if) it is related to the DP version.
cheers

I grew Nirvana Power Plant and got two females. They were both some of the best plants in the garden. For the price they really can't be beat. They were frosty and had great bag appeal. The buds also pretty dense and the smell was complex and a little bit fruity and sour. They also had a good strong high that to this day is my favorite high of any of the weed I've grown. The high wasn't the strongest but I could smoke it any time of day and it didn't put me to sleep. The high could be called "generic" only if you weren't paying close attention. I find most weed is "generic" mostly indica and this plant just wasn't like that. I smoked ounces of this stuff and it is very good. Everyone I smoked up wanted more Nirvana Power Plant. In fact I've got some growing outdoors even though it might not finish here.

Power Plant and Strawberry Cough were some of the tastiest weeds that I first tried, so they were among the first for me to try from DP.

As far as the strawberry cough, don't bother - a spicy, generally peppery smell with a 5% smell of strawberry, barely any fruit.

The PP on the other hand - was spot on! It had this citrus flavor after the cure that I remembered from first trying power plant. The high was motivating, especially before work. It was more of an energetic high that allowed you to avoid hitting the brick wall that a lot of indicas will smack you with. I would not recommend DP for anything except their power plant

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

I myself did come across some Strawberry Cough awhile ago, and remember being completely unimpressed by both it's appearance and aroma. Buzz was mediocre. I know "street" labels rarely mean much, but this acquaintance swore up and down that it was legit.

Nirvana def wins the cost comparison, but I'm kinda reluctant to give them business due to their history in questionable methods of acquisition.

DP sounds like the kind of entity to support, but I've seen reports on their stuff that makes me think their genetics to be a bit of gamble, in regards to consistency.

I ran into an old friend this morning and proffered this topic. He told me that while PPP was fun to grow, he only gave it two runs on account of the finished product not being as potent as he wanted. Told me to save that money and apply it to a pack of SAGE instead.

Hrmmmm...

I grew out PPP and loved it. Stinks for sure. Great yields too.

Actually, those and Satori are the only repeat bean purchases I have ever made. Might get some more too. I really like it.

I have grown Power Plant many times from DP and White Label seeds and loved them both. PP is excellent strain in any way i think. Certainly going to grow some more some day.

i love powerplant - definitely speedy, almost rushy high (great for an old raver like me)
superb party weed or for early evening if you fancy feeling a bit more energetic. NOT a bed time smoke. smooth soft smoke, not much taste from my experience.
i just got hold of a cut of the 8 week pheno which will hopefully be good. apparently you need a good pheno.
never tried pure power plant

lol - pp is one of those that opinions differ wildly on. my mate wont smoke it because he says its not strong enough but to me its rocket fuel. what i like best is that i get these moments of utter clarity on it when my mind works really quick (or at least thats the impression i get - im probably talking a crock 'o )

the tail or comedown is quite stoney, to be fair, but thats a couple of hours later :)

havent grown it myself yet but my friend who i built a big room for got cuts of it for his first grow - 7-8 weeks - very fat indica-ish bud structure. im not that good on smells - ill have a good wiff of a bud later! .i now have that cut and will grow it soon.

i also got some from amsterdam and this is kept in the freezer as the wife and i's ultimate party weed (so far ;) that was very frosty and stronger - although my mate is a bit slapdash about his grows so im hoping i can get a slightly better product from his cut!

the 'have to get a good pheno' bit was something i read somewhere....

Now when you guys are talking stink, are you referring to the actual skunky, malodorous quality that some herb develops, the bane of all indoor grows? Or are we talking something like a faded, fruity thing in the air? The talk of coconut notes is promising though! I run filters, don't get me wrong, I'm just running with the stealth theme here.

Gotta say tho, an almost mature flo is one of the most amazing smells I've ever encountered. Even outshines the blueberries! I once had a solitary female from good bagseed that was just an unbelievably bad smelling plant. I need to stay away from the ones that actually smell like a skunk, or there abouts.
