thanks for the info luaith! i was going to ask you when to chop. they are vegging along nicely now and some have real tight internodes and others are stretching a bit. some have a real peculiar smell when the stems are rubbed. i definitely have a crinkle leaf mutant and some other leaves are a lil distorted. i assume this is the GK shining through, no?

PDG, i am not sure about coco. the mix is very simple and since the promix doesn't have nutes i am guessing you could mix the soil with coco. i will be doing a coco run later this year so i may try it out. thanks for the kind words too!

I have been researching the OG and Bubba and I thank you for showing me the growing characteristics.

no problem luaith. i really only have one that is crinkled very very noticeably. some real tight inter nodes on about half and a little stretchier on the other half. going to be real interesting to see what i get. i will clone then throw them all into flower and go from there ;)

preface and question(s)...

currently run coco+perlite in buckets, w/ wick from top bucket resting in bottom bucket. never empty bottom bucket. run-off gets wicked up.

q: using the mix detailed, could a gardener simply place wicks in mix, run wick to container below, w/ only water in it (preferably 30-50 galllons), and never have to do anything again? (except refill container w/ water when needed)?

no indv. hand watering, no drippers, no pumps, no hoses... just pre-mixed media w/ ferts included, and wicks running to big container of water? maybe airstone in water & thats it?

i would say yes. all i do is hand water. and i dont always do it to runoff. you should never have to flush with this mix either. if the wick system allows the plant to drink only what it wants when it wants then i say yes, it should work and i would love to see the results!

would luv to show results, but am sticking w/ imaginary template. if/when/else conditions permit visuals w/ out potential for hazards, will surely contribute full galleries.

21 usc 801, 841(d) still on books... thats why garden only tomatoes, lettuce and basil...

have run several methods, and find that less=more.

next method will probably be the pre-mix in a single bed, or other trough, w/ wicks. zero maintenance.

enjoy your garden!

a small update minus pics...

transplanted OG clones into 3 gal bags. i have one that i am keeping an eye on for a mom but want to make a run from clones to be sure. they all smell great but i have two different structured plants. one more viney and one that branches up more then out. all seem to be yielding the same, great tric covereage, awesome stench.

i also transplanted the 2 confirmed BS2.2 x GK females into 3 gal bags. i am waiting on the others to sex. i have some males i have to can soon but will let them hang out for a moment longer.

i am waiting on my test seeds to get here from karma genetics and ojd. these will be the next ones i pop.

i added another light tight vent and a wooden door to the room. the poly door wasnt working out. it was a pain in the ass and still leaked light no matter what i did. temps are even between the two sections so i may keep the flouros after all. i will just have to can the 8 bulb unit for 2 4 bulb ones.

i will take pics in the next few days. nothing much to see. the bitches in flower suffered a pretty bad k def which i am trying to pull them out of. yield will suffer but other then that all is well.

peace.

Good to hear things are moving along, Phillthy. Look forward to watching yer run with Karma's gear. That should be fun for you.

Shitty to hear about the K def. What went on there? I don't remember what yer using to feed or soil and bout to head out for the night. I'm the curious type that likes to find out how stuff works so don't mind me. :D
