Cat Piss....WTF is this plant?

So yeaaaa,I got this seed from a friend who claimed it was Granddaddy purple. However I am always skeptical about seed just "given" to me. Due to the fact most people do not know what the hell they are talking about when it comes to the good ol chrondo. So,I know the people on IC know what the hell they are talking about so here goes.


During veg this plant smelled like a skunk. Real early in veg too. By the time the 4th-5th internodes were present the plant stunk. Upon putting her on 12/12 her stretch was minimal and she budded up pretty fast. She now reaks like cat piss.....BADLY! Her nuggets are dense and covered in standing trichomes
She likes mild to high levels of nutes and seems to be finishing nicely. Any help with this would sure be greatly appreciated. This plant was grown from seed not a clone. She is starting her 7th week in flowering. Pistils just starting to orange up.

In my experience, the ones that had what you are describing were worthy of trashcan as far as taste and smell, as well as the high level.. two thumbs down.. but hey I would try it before pulling it.

Thanks for all the responses. This plant got NO topping,no fim. Only trim it got was on the bottom early on in flowering. I will keep this post updated as she finishes. No worries there! She is a nice one. Flowers are getting fatter by the day. More pics to come as she finishes,keep it GreeN!

cat-piss is not such an uncommon occurence in certain phenotypes, does this plant have colombian and/or african genes in it? i once crossed a colombian sativa to a swazi red, pure cat piss smell, it was a good strong high, and the taste can be real good too. however my plants had thinner leaves than those in the pic.
i would let her finish and cure her well and try it. if you don't like it you can always make hash.

My thoughts exactly! I am not sure what the genes are in it but that damn smell is intoxicating. I hope it does not taste like it smells. Her fan leaves are fucking HUGE. I cut some lower one`s off today,one`s that were gone due to lack of N. They were huge. I do still have 8 more of these seeds. I just threw one down to see if it was what I was told it was. Got a female and the smell went from skunk to cat piss in like a 2 week period. She is LOADED up with standing stalked heads though. All over her,everywhere one looks there they are. Can`t wait to see!

There was one recent case where 1 weird plant that looked like an afghan smelled like piss x1000, had great resin production, good vigor and production, but tasted like piss too. I mean, it was really fuckin' bad. Smelly smoke. I hope you don't have something like that one.

If I am cursed with something like that it will be turned to hash so fast. I will not smoke bad tasting weed. If I was still buying weed from a street dealer then

i used to get a strain that was called Cat Piss..it smelt exactly like cat urine..wreaked..I believe it was supposed to be a Hawaiian Haze cross...

I've always associated the cat-piss smell with good weed. I have a plant that smells like cat piss with armpit undertones. She's definitely a keeper. The smell fades after a cure to a peachy/tropical fruit smell.

I was real curious about this plant so I cut off an arm this past weekend and dried it out. It was a lower arm but damn was this nug FAT and COVERED in happy lil trich`s. I smoked a bowl of it and I must say,it does not taste like it smells and I am higher than african giraffe balls! Update with pics of the plant tomorrow. Keep It GreeN!

I've smoked a strain that smelled like cat piss like whoa....some of the best smoke I've had in a while. Waiting on a re-vegged clone and should talk my man out of trashing the strain....got siiiick hash off this plant.

Don't throw it out...you may fall in love with it.

I recently had 1 outdoor that smelt like cats piss badly after dyring the smell wasnt as strong, it got jared and stored as i had others with alot more apeal this was pulled out after a 2 month cure and wow just like weedninja it had a fruity smell quite inviting and the smoke was killer i wish i had taken cuttings as it was the only seed out of an oz of bagweed oh well live and learn

It could be something with Northern Lights in. The Ssh cat piss pheno got it from NL if i remember correctly.

I remember back 99 when i was living in Utah, i bought several times a variety that the locals called cat piss,,,, they didnt know what strain was... but it tasted acid, and smells like spicy acid... could be and hibrid mostly indica ... nice memories from wassatch front, snowboard and nice budss.

pretty sure u found a haze cross. in my experience of smoking the only buds i grew or smoked that had a cat piss aroma was haze or haze crosses..i actually found one in bagseed onetime, nice find.
