Here is the joint I burned this morning. I meant to work these pictures into the post above but after burning half of that thing this morning, it didn't work out that way. It's like the buzz RW describes at the beginning of the thread. You might plan on doing one thing and end up doing something totally different. That bud is fourteen grams

and here is a closer look. Its the same picture with auto adjust used on the right.

great thread guys
the deep congo phenos popping up here get their purpling from the dc side, the original mother fully mature goes to a golden hue this budshot is one taken a bit ealry but not bad at 12 g for a pure sativa. This years project is to play with the bx1 seeds i made last season and some more fun with the f1's and f2's. best of luck folks. keep it coming.

Greetings, Mr. Williams...

My Deep Congo buds have the same tufty orange hairs and a very similar structure. Thanks for posting that, it's great to see the finished product of the mother for comparison.

Hi Richard. Good to know what the mom looks like. I have some F2's going now, four girls and two boys I think.
Some week old pictures of two of the girls

And a male from today.

Deep Congo F2's
This girl got a little pollen on her lower buds this morning. A little early but I don't want the males around any more. Too risky.

And here are the males, I used the bigger one on the plant above and I will use the other male on one of the more sativa looking girls. I did not plan to make seeds when I started these but the bigger male had such a profound odor that he had to be used

A few shots of my Deep Congo F2's. Not my healthiest plants but they will smoke fine.
Dick Williams, could you tell me a little about your Deep Congo F2's? What types of flavors and effects did you get? Also when do you plan on releasing the Back to the Congo?

These pics are from 45-52 days flower.

This is a sample nug from the second picture

back to the congo

back to the congo

looking nice lean, I am partial to the first two with narrow leaves. My current project has a patch deep in the forest of congo originals which I plan on hitting up with "back to the congo" pollen, thus making the second backcross. This is the final version I plan on releasing, i.e. congo bx2. Hope everyone's summer is going well

So, are the seeds that Gypsy has listed @ the boutique now F2's or F1????
I thought I had read on another thread that the F1 had sold out awhile ago.
Anyway, fantastic work RW! I really want to get this one into my grow.

I have not released any deepcongos since the first release which was several years back now, so if there are any listed they are either the original stock or unauthorized copies. I have not released an f2. The next version as I said previously will be the "back to the congo" bx2

I too would like to know when the new stuff is coming out. In my opinion Deep Congo is one of the best strains that I've ever grown or smoked...

Man those look sooooo tasty!! I'm getting to these my next round of seed popping... My curiosity and desire for something more unique and less commonly grown is really getting the better of me...

Just said the exact same thing in another thread... couldn't agree more. I will be growing Deep Congo and whatever I can find locked away in its genes for the rest of my days. It really is that good.

Possibly...but I don't know why everyone makes such a fuss over bean age. I mean, I have successfully grown seeds that are well over 20 years old and they were simply "stored" (lost and forgotten) in an old jewelry box my folks had in the attic.

I personally have made beans that haven't been stored "properly" and a member had them sprout without any issues...they are about 3+ years old...easily.

I think if you know what you are doing and the seeds were of quality in the first place...age is not so much an issue as people tend to make it out to be. At least that has been my experience..

As far as the F2's go....no one is selling or offering F2's...those are just seeds that members have made for their own personal gardens and are sorting through for fun and finding nice plants.
