That's a cute little list you got there

This is part of my point. If I had the space, light, time, and interest an 18 pack of MNS SSH for $160 might make sense. I don't want to spend a year growing just SSH so I buy the cheaper GHS 10 pack.

Am I misinformed, buying into the hype, or making a rational decision based on my needs and budget?

Probably not as I suspect we have different perspectives and are growing on different scales and for different reasons. Different stokes for different folks.

I do it primarily because I can't buy herb that I'm willing to smoke, but there is definitely some sport and love in there as well.

what nobody has asked is why do some growers face hermi problems with feminized seeds from (most/all) co's..while the GHS staff says they never had any probs..

I have no doubt that in ideal growing conditions at the company's rooms GHS feminized seeds can give 100% females with no probs whatsoever but what happens if plants are bit stressed? Stress can be from many things , ie pest attacks etc , its not only light/nute related stress.

And why are there good growers that still seem to get problems even in a stress free environment?

Proper breeding means that the plants that were selected during breeding were stressed-tested..so growers don't have to face dramas later on..

Another thing..someone mentioned what are the long term issues with feminized seeds..
how is the cannabis genepool affected without not much real breeding done with all this feminized seed revolution ??

I d love to get an answer on that from the GHS staff since they work making fem seeds..
I have grown a couple of packs of feminized seeds in the past . Have to say i had no probs whatsoever with hermis..but personally I would never spend money on fem seeds or breed with such plants.

l33, i think an even more imparitive issue is the long term health concern of the chemicals used in femming..like tobacco we just finding out about the chemical effects used in them..
i don't like fems either..although i had no hermie issues with the only gh pack i grew..

Groady, I don't think there are any real threats to your health after you get your seeds. I believe what you feed your plants may have an effect on your health, but not the process to create femm'd seeds. I can also say, I don't know, so my opinion is just that... TALK!

Yup,With absolutely no apologies.
Black-Pack,Old School,Very Early In The Game Before more indica was bred into SSH to shorten flower time when Shanti was the Breeder GHS SSH stock,yes.
And I've always given credit where credit,I think,is due.
Newer SSH is dandy with me,I have some fresh MNS SSH in the Vault that I plan to give a run sometime in the future,along with the now-defunct Federation's Romulan. Perhaps I'll breed a few SSH/Roms,just for kicks-who knows?

SSCDH was a one-shot release,I bred it for myself and some close,grower-type friends (who happen to live worldwide) to compliment the sour funk of the SSSDH with a more rotten-skunk/haze hybrid.
Anything using my SSH Mom takes months of extra planning and that crazy bitch flowers for about 100 days,so I have to start her flowering months before anything else. The definition? A p.i.t.a.,but worth it,in small batches.
If I had a Farm the size of Shanti's old Swiss place,I'd be happy to make more. As it is,I'm limited in scope,comparatively.
If the world would just legalize cannabis,sigh.

Maybe MNS should start selling half packs. As more states in the US turn medical there are going to be a lot more people with small medical grows purchasing seeds. Most of these folks, like me, will have small multi-strain perpetual grows and will not have the space, time, or interest in sifting though 20 seeds of one strain, particularly one with a long flowering time that takes up a lot space. I suspect that they would rather have a 10 pack of seeds at half the cost; I know that I would. For me the extra 5, or 8, or 10 seeds doesn't make a difference because I'm probably never going to get to running them all.

BTW - If I knew for certain that I could of gotten the F2 freebies I would of just ordered something else and run those. I haven't had much luck with freebie request though.
