snakes make horrible pets... but imo anything other than dogs / cats make horrible pets (aside from barn exceptions if you can handle that).

its just a shitty thought of keeping something in a small cage just so you can pick it up or look at it here and there... i got a gecko and i feel really bad b/c all he does is sleep, eat, and look at me some times... what a shitty life.

i think if you had a massive room dedicated to reptiles w/ living plants and plenty of space that'd be different... and that vivariums (not tiny ones) are fine for things such as dart frogs... but still, the greed we have is kinda sad.

i totally aggree

we used to have birds in a cage , but when my stepfather died i opened the cage.

Ok so many of you will say , you dumb fuck , those birds can't survive in the wild.

True , but i was thinking this way at least they won't have to stay in a stupid cage.

Really keeping birds in cages is just sick.

They should lock people up for that:2cents::2cents:

Here's a picture of a baby field mouse that was rescued from the jaws of fluffmaster flex today. His little eyes aren't even open yet...I'm guessing he's about 2 weeks old, so he gets a syringe feeding every 4 hours for the next month before I can release him (into an unpopulated area of course). At least it will be warm by then and I can let him go. I haven't named him yet and of course I'm going to get attached to him...but he's a wild animal. It's the most precious thing...feeding him from a little syringe with a nipple on the end of it...he's only 4 and a half grams right now.

I have 2 reptiles and I can tell you that they have personalities...my male and female are totally different...my male is the one that comes out when he hears my voice, he gives "kisses"...and my female is kind of a bitch (I love her for that). I don't know...but my male knows when I'm there...

Iguanas hate people...I really like them though. I saw some HUGE ones that were in a terrarium at Margaritaville in the Caymans. I should have cleared up that I have leopard geckos, not snakes....they are really adjustable to being handled by people, love to bury into your neck and shoulder for heat...which is adorable to me.
