Hahaha! That Mr.M......

Hahaha! That Mr.M......

He's right! You really do have to keep on the lookout for early flowering males as to keep things from getting seeded!
Also, if you ever have the time to prepare a Blueberry for scrog you can pull a wonderful carpet of it! I personally love the smell and the taste of these when smoking! Pure enjoyment! Keep the pictures comin'! :joint:

Thanks for all the insight ppl! I have a very watchful eye when it comes to my garden. I am on the look out for males and mr herman. Also looking for that perfect female. But with only a 5 pack(1 sprouted and died)and 4 left over I doubt I will find a keeper. I will however smoke some of this shit up provided they are not all males. Is there a paticular pheno I should be on the lookout for? I know out of the 4,I have one that is really uniform, perfect shaped leaves, all leaves the same size, has purple stems and is very pretty. 1 other is
a for sure mutant. The top grows sideways instead of uniform like the others. It also has 2 arms at one node that are uneven. One arm sits higher than the other. It also seems to me the most vigorous of them all. It is an ugly lil fucker though. Pics to come of the mutant soon as my camera battery is done charging. Keep It Green :joint:

Small Update

Small Update

I am not to impressed with this strain so far. Up to this point I have 2 mutants and 2 regular looking plants. The one is really bad, growth at internodes is wild and unpredictable. See the pics below. I hope I get at least one female out of this bunch that is not a mutant. One I can flower out and see what happens. I am thinking about putting these outdoors and be done with them, whatever happens, happens. Anyhow, let me know what you guys think! :joint:

I'm going to pop in here briefly with a few words on BB...

First, if you get a mutant or two, keep them, you are blessed. Helpful if they veg under blue light. Often the most potent, sticky buds result from mutants...

BB is slow to veg- it's an IBL! Just as you're getting tired of looking at them sit there they'll burst into flower... The veg smell is often astringent which then transforms into a sweet blueberry funk during cure- it's subtle...

Encourage branching. Not too much water. Light nutes (your's look great!) BB shines outdoors if you can keep the bugs off...

here is my Dp blueberry

I didn't think that she was anything special , but that was my fault.

I was having so many spider mites and i didn't wanna spray poison on my plants , so i harvested her early , like you see here on the pic.

Smell was very fruity and deep , no berry smell.

But all in all i would have to grow it again in spider mite-less conditions , the aromas' where interesting. Just needs to be harvested a bit later

after starting 30 out of 50 of dp's blueberry, i gave up on the strain (and the breeders), most were hermie freaks, i also saw this in their cali o, orange bud and flo. if you want blueberry then get chimeras blues x grapefruit it tastes like dj shorts blueberry but yields better and i havn't seen any hermies in any blueberry x grapefruits

that sucks man , i must say i never saw one hermie in my 10 pack , but that's nature.

if sumthing like that happened to me i would also be pissed at the breeder lol

Ah well

It's a branch of the same tree, I heard things didn't end well; so kinda stolen or to be accurate not returned as business went bad.

DJ Short originated Blueberry. He also supplied Dutch Passion with the strain they provide as well, they were his seeds. They are the basically same. With DJ's you will find more phenos.

LOL, nothing went bad... He was just not involved in the process DP used to select their keepers and whatnot, but he did help test "finished product" and help make suggestions based on that.

Here is DJ Short's side of the story in regards to the differences in DP & DJ Blueberry:

Quote:
I worked with in Europe. At this company about 50 seeds of each variety were sprouted, but I was once again mainly left out of the selection process except for sampling a number of finished products and making selections based on those (which is enough, actually). I never got to see any of the live plants from this selection process at company number two in Europe. I also contributed seed-stock for three more varieties there;
Blue Moonshine, Blue Heaven and Purple Passion.
The owner of this company was satisfied with paying me the minimum amount I would consider adequate.
Fortunately, part of the deal was my ability to remain Independent and work with whomever else I pleased.
Quote:
FYI the Dutch Passion Blueberry stock (50 seeds) was the identical stock used for the True Blue (>200 seeds). I did not do any selection on the Dutch project except for finished product analysis, but I assume that they did not select any individuals with leaf anomalies. I hope that helps clear up some of the questions regarding differences between these varieties and their overall selection.

And yes, it's known to be quite picky. I still love it. One of my favorites, hands down.

Mutants are also very common, and are usually very nice keepers. I have one I started from seed a few weeks ago that grew a very heavy\thick stem and split\topped on its own. It's filling out nicely and is sure to be a keeper. Let's just hope its a girl :)

I've heard some people gripe about hermies, and some people say they've never seen em. I have yet to see one myself. Don't let it get you down, sounds like you just had some real shitty luck. Take care

Thanks for all the support and positive Vibez. I am sooooooo glad someone else has grown this out besides me. I think I would have said "fuck it" by now. I am really surprised to see mutant`s as keepers, never would have thought. They are slow as hell in veg. What is the flowering time on these anyways? I have heard some people say 50-60 days, others saying longer.....I have been giving them fox farm grow big, started at 1.0ec and got it up to 1.5ec gradually.
What is the highest levels of nutes I should give these babies? :joint:

With Blueberry is it always so damn slow in veg? I have one vigorous plant and that one is a mutant. The others are growing but sooooooooo slow. I hope they flower faster than they veg :joint:

Dp blueberry... isnt anything close to Dj's and i dont believe its his genetics at all.. Dj's BB is alot more sativa... The dp BB got 5 females or so maybe 6 4 of them hermed on me and i kept one till this last run prob 6 months or so.... the one i kept was ok nothing special turned purplish if you let it go long enough.... just bland... kind of fruity but not very BB ish.

My other BB Taste EXACTLY like BB smell like it to... i do hope you get somethign better then me and ill be hanging outto see how it turns out gl...

There it is,so DP`s BB and DJ`s are the same. Only DJ did not have anything to do with the selection process. I am going to buy some of DJ`s if/when he restocks. He has all sorts of stuff I would like to try out. I believe DP`s whole blue line is from DJ,at least that is what it says on Dutch Passion`s site. :joint:
