We're moved out to the coldframe now... :) Temps will get down just below 50 for the next couple nights... They'll take it fine, especially with a hill type coldframe.. Now they start growing... Don't blink yer eyes... :)

Love the cold frame I use them too but I love the simplicity of this one
I have taken the time to rethink/redesign mine for this year too but always looking for a better mousetrap.

I would love some more details.

Hey guys, hope everyone's enjoying the new season! Spring is moving right along and we're approaching the solstice, only a few weeks away...

Paddi, just so ya know the flats hadn't been in there when I took that last pic in the cold frame. They were on a porch with an awning over it causing them to grow south... Had they been in there the whole time I think it would have worked out better, but they needed some warmth there for a couple days... Can always transplant deeper I say... So long as they stand up. I'm having to work with a few of them to get em to stay upright... Much more stretchy and it would not have been good... :)

Speaking of roots, I saw roots growing out of most of the early planted (erocket x dp) x dc and nhu x dc! Won't be long and they'll need moved... Now if it will only dry out...

Soxx, that plant is bushy as can be! Thats one solid flower! Weird that some of the plants had abnormal sexual structures... It happens... I will keep a keen eye out for abnormalities as usual... Are you getting some CM 07's going soon? :)

Did you do any training other than cropping and revegging? She is just so bushy and even! The nhu from last year was a very nice bush... I am not surprised! Thanks for posting up the update!

When you have containers outside be sure you can get to them at least once or twice a day. They will tend to dry out when its hot and sunny.... Wrap the containers in white fabric/burlap or something to block the heat building black plastic from getting sun... Will help keep soil temps cooler and maintain moisture longer... Plant in large containers... Stay ahead of the roots... :)

Hamstring... I have a couple shots for ya... This design kicks ass... I just made it till it was done... :)

Its got to be dry enough... the early bird gets the worm... :)

Hey bpb, glad ya found us again... :) Put your thumb and index finger together and rub the stem, gives ya the best idea of the resin aromas... :)

Hey wamen, great to see ya! Plenty of room in the coldframe so I though.. Turns out it couldn't have been much smaller! :)

They are on the move weedster! Love watching the beginning of the season fly by... I think its what I live for.... :)

Hey southernguerilla! That tiller was 100 bucks! It came with a screw as a throttle lever on the motor, but the machine works flawlessly... Super reliable and powerful... Does the trick! Just needs more weight sometimes with the dry stuff.... I need to get a tilling impliment for the massey fergeson... Then you'd see a garden! :)

Will be sowing the Carpatian and Auto Lhotse later this evening... 5 of each! :woohoo:

I work hard morning to sundown and then some... I need a complex and spicy food to make me realize its my down time... Love me some nachos... :yummy:

::::Transplant to Crop Stage II::::

::::Transplant to Crop Stage II::::

Did some CS2's... a good 100 of them... took a fair amount of time but it was well worth it... They're ready... I got better at it toward the end.... I thought I may have messed up a couple of the ones from the first flat.. A trainwreck was one of them, I got a kick out of that... I was still gentle... The weather was prime for transplanting... Dense fog all night and until late morning, and then the clouds lingered until the afternoon... Went to check on them this evening and they were ALL smiling at me... :)

Conetainers test. They're designed for tree seedlings. It allows them to form a tap root so they can root deep quicker and withstand the drought...

A couple weeks and out they go.... :)

Wow Pipe, looks like you have been keeping busy. Nice cold frame. And it sure does look like you will overgrow the world. haha :joint:

I really did not do any training the night hail ultra. When i harvested her the first time, I left 7 growing points intact on the plant to reveg from in hoped to get a real bushy girl. This was suppose to serve as a mother plant and take several cuts and have this strain in the garden for a long time. In the veg box, i just kept cutting the tops at nodes when it was getting pressed against the plexiglass heat shield. She bushed out like that on her own, and squared up by herself. Kinda neat and most bad ass plant I've experienced to grow. /end ramble. just smoked one.

Cheers all!

Love the idea and I think I could shrink this idea down for a guerrilla application. Find a good spot prepare for next year.

I would assume southward facing and the wood pallets keep the plants off the ground for warmth??? or from water/rain???

The earth mound/back wall serves as a heat-retaining reservoir I really like this.

I currently pack everything in but this could have some very intersting applications.

Oh yeah, I will need some nachos for all the hard work put into this great idea.

Thanks for stopping by to enjoy the thread guys!

Its a first for me using those cone-tainers, easy. I'll let you know how they work when I see the roots at transplant...

I bet the design would work wonderfully for a guerilla grow. Just be sure its going to shed rain if you use flexible plastic tarp. It will tend to collect water unless you're good... A 2x4 frame with cross supports in the center would certainly help prevent it from pooling...

The skids keep them off the ground so they get air and don't sit in whatever water makes it down.. Plus if you need to touch them up with water you can... I prefer to take them out of the cold frame to water though to prevent excess moisture from building up and creating a suitable environment for disease...

It is a lot of work scaramanga, but is it work if you enjoy it? It really doesn't take that long.. Most of the work is in getting them there and getting the flowers home... Of course there is a bit of brush pruning and weeding to do throughout the season... I plant somewhat densely to account for losses... 3 plants per hole... :)

Soxx, that would count as training what you did... Definately isn't shy about branching out though as far as I can tell. I only topped her once last year...

Yeah guys, don't forget the nachos... Gives you a bit of extra fire power once those beans kick in... :)

4 Carpatian and 5 auto lhotse are up! One of the auto lhotse is actually albino and likely won't make it if she has nothing to eat... :(

Got the first of the starts out last night. 3 (Erocket x Danish Passion) x Deep Chunk and 3 Night Hail Ultra x Deep Chunk. The rain set in today after sprinkling early this morning... Got the veggie garden planted up last night as well... Thank goodness it got done... Worked out just right... Part of the garden on the lower end was a little wetter than I'd have liked, but we were busy making money earlier in April when it was dry and I SHOULD have been working on the garden... You do what ya can... :)

Hey keke! I work long hours anyway, whats a little overtime into the early morning? I get used to getting very little sleep this time of year... :)

Forgot to include some sowing recently done...

Dropped 3 Sunshine no.2, 3 HTC Skunk IBL (BM), bubba kush x deep chunk, sour bubble bx3 x sbbx4, and pre98 bubba kush x b3n7/erdpurt! This morning a skunk has emerged... :)
