bears show is lame its all about entertainment not survival they just make him eat gross shit for the wow factor. les is the real survivalist, bear is just some douche who like to pretend he rugged just because he can eat bugs i think he is more cutout for jackass then a survivalist show...

I can't believe people even watch these shows. Your never gonna get lost in the woods haha. I live in North Jersey right outside New York I get reception everywhere haha. To me the deep south is the Jersey Shore. Both these guys probabily get gay with each other in the woods anyway. Its like Brokeback survival men city disco with these two haha.

I can see it now.

Bear would be a cheap shit and his camera crew would jump into the fight, all the while Les would be walking around setting up camera's and checking angles.....

funny shit

Well when your an avid backpacker like me, getting lost is a possibility.

Just becuase you have no desire for adventure doesnt mean one wont be sprung upon you. Unless you are so happy with shit hole jersey that you never want to go outside it.

I doubt they have even met even each other, so dont share your sexual fantasy in my thread.

ZEPPLIN im just making fun no disrespect to your thread, my appologies.. If you are an avid backpacker/mountain man then I guess these shows are important. Sometimes I forget the rest of the country lives in the woods. Us city people forget that. I usually tend to think that everybody lives in a city.. But I have been to West Virgina (all good music fest) a few years back and to be totally honest... I was oblivious/amazed that people actually live that far out in the middle of nowhere.. God fobid if you get a heart attack or something. Up until that point the farthest north I've been was NYC, the farthest west i was was Philly, and the farthest south I ever was was Wildwood/ Atlantic City. But traveling to West Virginia was def an expirence I remember. Just out of curiosity why do you think some people seek to be so far out off the beaten track? For me my whole neighborhood is tight nit. My two brothers and me all live on the same street. Along with my mother (she lives in the next rowhouse) plus my little sister has her house across the street. The rest of my family dosen't live in this country but my whole block is like a family kinda. They are all of the same ethnic background and I can walk everywhere I need to be. Plus all of my neighbors familys live within blocks of thier houses. Do people who live out in the woods live the same kinda way? Is thier family all from that area? I would imagion because if not How do they even find West Virginia or other small middle america places??

I live "in the city" out of necessity because my career of choice requires a big local market. However, I enjoy being outdoors, not necessarily because it's "off the beaten track" but because I enjoy the serenity of nature.

I don't understand most of what you're trying to say/ask though.

Funker I can understand that. The most of nature I've ever seen was when we drove to W.Virgina. They have mountains everywhere which was pretty cool. But in no way did I feel like hikeing up those dam things. I hate the Jersey Shore as well. The Ocean stinks probabily from everybody pissin in it and I hate the sand. I love the Atlantic City Boardwalk tho. They have casinos right on the boardwalk it's a fun place to go. Expect to drop alot of cash tho if you ever visit, especially if you bring a girl. They got high end stores everywhere and it gets them distracted. You know how females are. Basically what I'm asking is why do people chose to live that far out of the way? Why do people live hundreds of miles from everything? I just don't see it as being practical or fun. In the city there's tons of girls, tons of places to eat, drink, gamble, meet people. I don't understand why someone would knowingly move to somewhere like West Virgina. No offence or anything but why do some people want to be out in the woods? I like having alot of people around, especially my family. I see my mother, sister and my brothers everyday. I see my neighbors and friends everyday. I hit on a new girl everyday. I could eat in a different store everyday. I also could meet people from other parts of the world of different cultures everyday. But in places like Masontown West Virgina.. Your surrounded by nothing kinda.. Do you understand what I'm saying? Why do people move to the woods? And why do people stay there knowing there's a whole world out there.

you are all cool. I am just quick to whit. I know you didnt really mean disrespect. Also I know that NJ has some very nice forest. One of my room mates went to drew. Which is a pretty bad ass school, for the pro pot type.

Also, you gotta travel to the rocky mountains. You havent seen mountains in the US until you have been to the west, or alaska. you will love it. In rocky mountain national park you can drive up tp a 12,000 ft peak, so if you are not an experienced hiker, then you can still experience the top of the world. check out my picks. Also living out in the woods can be very very peacful, you can grow nug out there and there is no one to stop you generally. Just dont make it obvious from the air.

Also lola, hunting is just fine as long as you use as much of the animal as you can. If you trophy hunt then, donate the rest of the meat to a local homeless shelter. If you get lost in the winter you will have pretty much no choice but to shoot some sort of mammal that doesnt hibernate. waste will be eaten by scavengers though. The winter conditions will make that food a prize.

:)

bear is a trained military expert. les is a survival expert, through his documented experiences. his experiences were first hand accounts of his first time having to survive in those areas. That is pretty hard core. he just went out and did it.

no no no this thread topic is all wrong wrong wrong. If I had to back either bear or les to get out of the wilderness alive my money would be on bear everytime. Bear would remain in good spirits and can drink his own piss-filled snake if he has too. Meanwhile Les would be wallowing in his own self-pity haha! Its got so much to do with PMA

My family started living on the land I live on in 1805.

I like it here in the country surrounded by nothing.

If I wanna run naked through the woods, nobody cares... It's a good place to not have to deal with Govt. as much. Easy to grow weed and hide a still.

If you already have 100 acres of paradise, surrounded by other privately owned land, why go anywhere else except to vacation? My feet hurt when I have to walk on pavement all day long. Here if I run out of sugar, I can get some at a neighbor's house a mile or so down the road. It's just like Mayberry still in the country, except for an occasional crackhead or crank head.

Yea I always wanted to see snow covered mountains.. Also I wanna see the desert.. The farthest I've been from NYC/Jersey and still in America was the one time I went to the All Good with some friends. I want to see alot of places but actually since I am city at heart I think I would rather visit other cities.. Like Tokyo, Hong Kong, Madrid, when I visit Sicilia I go to Palermo.. I have no desire to see an island ever really. Well a tropical island like Jamica. Sicilia is an island of coarse. Anyway off topic. Take it easy..

^Then you should go to Vancouver. It a city with mountains near by, it is pretty chilled out, and relaxed. It is one of the most diverse cities in the world.

I like the way bruce parry takes all the shamanistic drugs, but he gets caught in the trap of trying to analyse it too much for the camera, rather than experiencing it
