Here's an update! Just finished watering and had them all out of the cab so I figured I'd get some pics. Dropped 'em onto a towel to get those last few drops of water and started snapping.

The last two shots give you a decent view of my few mongoloids and runts.

Are you the one that has done HPS and LED at the same time or does somebody else have the same led setup as u goin?

thank you kindly....yep, I'm the hps/led guy.Just gettin a little more serious about going green-thats what drew me to this very informative thread.I was never aware that cfl's could produce such killer results.I just like the idea of being kind to the planet, while growing kind.LED's by themselves-eh, but combined with cfls' I noticed immediate results-like, within a day! I'll post my thread for ya, and thanks again.peace

bf74 your setup looks killer, can't wait to see the nugs. I love CFL and have all my seedlings starting under them. LED's make me drool man, I can't wait for the market to develop so prices get lower.

CFL & LED nice combo, great idea.

thank you, and wait 6months to a year- these ufo's will be a dime a dozen.When the newer higher wattage diode units come out-they'll have so many of the damn things in surplus.Thats why I cant really recommend them at the moment, why buy one now when a couple of growing cycles from now they'll be giving them away.thanx again.peace

She's been nothing but a pleasant surprise. I pulled the seed from a 1-bowl nug a friend gifted me for the sake of trying a new flavor - he and I go back and forth like that a lot. I have one other seed ('Key-Lime Skunk?') from his nugs in veg. This bag was labelled 'Northern Lights,' but who knows if that's true, or what the dad is... he doesn't grow 'em himself.

In veg, she has a nice spicy, earthy, kinda dark and warm scent. Stronger than average, she stank up the room before she hit 12/12. Once the trichs came, the colas started to smell like limes and oranges - a good, clean, sharp citrusy bite to them. The vegetation still has the earthy/spicy smell to it and the combination is like a bowl of dank oranges. It's very nice.

I was looking through the social groups today and there's no group for microgrows or for CFL grows.

Do I have to have a certain rep or something to start a new group or am I just not finding the appropriate button? Lil help?

I'd like to have a CFL Social Group if possible.

Hey there Stikik22. Check out AFC Greenhouses google little greenhouse.com. I purchased a Batwing reflector and a Hydrofarm CFL reflector hood both on sale. They both came with a mogul socket and power cord and the Hydrofarm reflector has an on/off switch and is a dedicated CFL fixture I have a 200 w cfl that has 6500k and it is being used to veg and it is a quality piece of equipment. I am looking at some other CFL's that have the 2700k rating as this seems to be the the one to flower. I also use a 600 hps in a different area to flower but as the summer nears I may be switching back to cfls as heat may become an issue in my DR 150 Secret Jardin tent. Could anyone tell me if the 6500k watt bulb would have the proper spectrum to flower. I picked up a 70 hps security light from Princess auto for like $50 and will be modifying it so it can be used as a remote ballast flowering light as well. Safe and happy growing to all. Cheers.

She smells like blueberries and hash, with a slight ammonia funk. Glorious odor, and very strong. Excellent smoke.

dude strainbrain that "northern lights" does sound like some NL that was my first proper smoke of decent bud.. zesty, citrusy to smoke, but with a light taste not overpowering fuggy like lemon skunk, really happy stuff.. ahhh memories.. always loved nugs like that since but they're rare now.

You're a lucky lucky man.. i'm going to have to sift beans to try and find something like that.
