Got hit by a car!

So I got hit when I was biking around today. Here is how it went down: cruising down the road in the bike lane going right around the speed limit ~20-25 and was going through an intersection as a car in a lane to my left made a right hand turn right in front of me. I smashed into the car, hit the pavement, lost a shoe, and ended up with a few cuts and bruises. The college kid apologized and shit happens. I was not hurt too bad, just hurts when I cough and like I said I have a few cuts and bruises. I got his number and he wants to give me a 10 sac and :joint: me up :woohoo:. My bike will be fine after I tweak it a bit. I think the solution is legit because shit happens, but at the same time I was hit by a freaking car because a guy did not check his mirrors. What do you think?

of coursed I lived man haha. It pisses me off because it could have been avoided easly, but I feel it would be hypocritical for me to be a hard ass on this guy because I've sort off made the same mistake before when I was younger and got off easy.

HAHA, there's some pretty funny replies in this thread :) A think a few of our fellow ICMaggers have medicated a little too much already today ;)

Or maybe I have, and that's why it's all funny to me :| Back on topic; Agreed. A dime? It better not have seeds. You should talk about how to drive properly while smoking a spliff :)

aaah...not sure what a 10 sac is? but a qtr lb might be a better settlement. after all...no police were involved, right? he'd be ponying up alot more than a q-p if the cops were involved. don't sell your live for so cheap, darling.

should have laid on the ground pretending to be dazed and waited for an ambulance. Once at the hospital you should have called you're lawyer, who could have run you through the do's and don'ts of personal injury - what to say to the people at the hospital, what not to say, what kind of pain you're in, etc. A lot of shit in the body can cause pain but they can't cure or figure out what it is, like nerves n stuff. You could have milked this dude. I'm always prepared for this, it's going to be my meal ticket.
With a good lawyer guiding you, you could be waiting on a check from their insurance company upwards of a few hundred G's, depending on what you claim hurts. You could say you whacked your head, and act kind of stupid around the doctors and they'll say mild concussion and then you could possibly say you may have brain damage and then you're all set.
Not enough people take advantage of the same system which fucks us in the ass each and every day. Remember - someone got a couple million for spilling hot coffee on themself. I think getting creamed by a car due to the driver's negligence is even more solid

If you did that to me after I hit you I would go to the hospital and make sure I finished the job. Learn to be happy with the blessing of escaping uninjured rather than racking up all that bad karma being a complete tool.

That's the problem man. How is the world supposed to become a better place if no one starts making a change ie not sue someone when you can? Also karma is a bitch, or at least I hope

I would wait until tomorrow to see if in fact you're are truly "OK"....The injuries associated with these types of accidents (aside from the obvious bumps and bruises) tend to show up 12-24 hours later....

Thank god there wasn't a car waiting to run you over when you hit the ground.

here is a little tidbet while riding a pedal bike an roadway you must follow the laws of a motor vehelcle............. you ran into him so you could be found to be at fault take the 10 bag and call it square
