Poll on Bud Squeezing

Tell me please, your thoughts on people visiting your grow who feel compelled or even necessary to touch your buds. I think squeezing can set buds up for, if not cause, rot due to bruising deep in the bud no matter how gentle someone "thinks" they are doing it. Not to mention the damage to trichs!! This makes ME CRAZY, and I fell like grabbing the offender by the neck and squeezing THEM gently. I even have a notice on the door: "TOUCHING BUDS WILL BE REGARDED AS A TERRORIST ACT AND DEALT WITH ACCORDING TO STANDARDS SET FORTH BY THE HOMELAND SECURITY ACT. PUNISHMENT WILL BE METED OUT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GENEVA CONVENTION."

People are still doing it though, and I don"t want to offend if it really doesn't cause or contribute to any problems. I don't squeeze my own let alone anyone else's. Seems to me they're either tight or not and by the time they're large enough to tell it's to late to do anything about it anyway.

Thanks guys for the replies. Sorry I've offended you with my "stupidity" sparkjumper. These two people are "mentors" and have helped me a lot with my first solo grow. I did not let them in to touch or squeeze the buds. I was under the impression that people on this site were here to help, hence the question. I'm not a squeezer, but I have lightly touched my buds on either side with the tops of my fingers in order to gauge their size and weight a bit better. I've not noticed any negative impact thus far, but I am very careful. I love touching my budz!

exactly. ill touch lightly to get a good impression of where im at but anyone who comesn a grabs a nug gets a sharp whack to the head

I don't 'squeeze' mine, but I do that thumb/forefinger thickness gauging. It's not so much a squeeze, but a light touch. As for showing people, well I don't do that personally and I'm legal. Don't show people your grow!!! You can only be betrayed by people you trust, remember that. Even if they are cool as ice, people talk, and sometimes the wrong people listen.

I touch mine now and then very gently just checking mainly for borg or mould etc
I would not hesitate to kill if someone was to "grab" the shit out of them though. But i have no friends so problem solved lol

The first thing I thought was.
What the hell are people doing walking around in your grow in the first place? Let alone squeezing buds.
And if these people are your "mentors" then maybe they know what there doing, and if not, why are they mentoring you?
Not to rip on you, but I can't even imagine ever willingly letting someone into my grow area.

Anyway, I have given the occasional bud a light squeeze to see if it's as dense as it looks, but that's about it.

so true unless it's the same question over and over again by the same person. your question on the other hand isnt a dumb 1 i touch mine and sometimes allow few local growers to also we never squeeze just gently touch. touch to see how dense and to get the goodness on the thumb n forefinger. to cut down on PM and mold keep fans inside flower erea running 24/7 this keeps plenty of air circulation going and your chances become less of gettn PM or mold. for real humid ereas i suggest a dehumidifier my fans only shut off when i clean them other wise they run 24/7 including my carbon filter

that's interesting. most people that come around my crops don't want to touch anything. they're afraid they're gonna fuck something up
I usually encourage a light brush of the resinous outer leaves so they can enjoy the smell.

How about squeezing during the drying/curing process?

I feel like I kind of have to to feel if they are ready to jar. I feel the sticky on my fingers every time though.
