hello tent users. i recently purchased a secret jardin (not sure on model # but floor measures 39" across)

as far as my ventelation goes im a bit confused on the setup

i bought:

carbon filter "can 9000"

4" to 6" converter (i think this goes from ducting to fan, so i didnt have to buy 6" fan but im not sure why he had me get it)

two 4" centrifigul fans

6" sun tube

things i havent bought yet:

a small fan for the inside

all my ducting and clamps

so from the research i have done so far it seems i only need 1 of the fans?
this will be in my bedroom, i am going to get air conditioning asap since the outside temp will be rising soon.

im trying to fig out how to mount the can filter (inside or out) ( advice here please ) then procede to set up all the ducting

i found a post a few pages back and a few pics in this thread that have given me ideas. but some have also confused me.

the fans i got are pretty hefty so im not really sure how to mount any of this stuff


this is the best advise i found a few pages back. anyone have any other posts or threads made on this?

This is a pic of my fan and carbon filter. There have been no probs with weight....touch wood

My tent's set up....air gets sucked through the filter, over the light and out side the tent. Because of how the homebox is set up this causes a negative air presure making the home box very sturdy and tight.

Same again with the set up......some white widow drying too.

ok found this... all looks perfect for my setup, but where is the fan mounted?
also i have seen lots of pics with this style of light tube not using the wing refletcor...i bought one with mine, should i use it?


CARBON FILTER-------->LIGHT--------------->FAN----------->VENT OUTSIDE.
Summary: Pull air through the carbon filter, through the light, through the fan, and then attach the other end of the fan to a vent outside. You could also do CARBON FILTER----->FAN-------->LIGHT------->VENT

also thoughts on mixing 4 dws buckets ( 3 gallon ) and 2 5 gallon soil buckets in same tent ( secret jardin 39" ) under 600 watt hps/mh???

should i not include the soil buckets and just go with 6 dws buckets? my pump can do 6 i think

i think it would be cool to have both soil and hydro, yay or nah?

probably told you to get 2 fans, one for exhaust and one for cooltube.

most likely gonna be like this:
1 - outside air--->fan #1--->cooltube--->exits tent

2 - carbon scrubber--->fan #2--->exits tent

this way, one will pull fresh air across your bulb, keeping its ventilation separate from the tent's ventilation so you can still cool your light while sealing the tent in the event you want to add co2. you can also run the tent vent 24/7 and have the cooltube fan turn on/off with the light.

grow tent vs cab?

grow tent vs cab?

I'm a noob grower, preparing for my third indoor crop, trying to learn how to make it better than the last. I'm sharing a flowering room with my bf and we are working with limited space so we have to veg in there too. He built a veg cab and inspired me to build my own veg space. The last grow I was working in had a separate bedroom for vegging so I have zero first hand experience building/using a cab/tent. Was just wondering if anyone could throw me some pros and cons they've experienced with either or...which is more efficient for ventilating/being light proof, etc. Thanks guys and gals!

LOL so your BF makes you gorw your own weed? thats Unreal! but prolly innefficient, just put the two together lol,
The tents let out a little bit of light but not enough to if you had a veg tent and flower tent in the same room as to interrupt the flower tents light schedule, the light from the veg tent wouldnt be strong enough to fuck with the flower cycle so yeh ou could put both in the same room, ive been thinking of doing the same thing, but nah im too lazy and I would have to dance around too much shit as it is.

ok so no pics yet. nothing but frustration. hooked up vent setup with fans outside the tent and it made way to much noise. so going to try like this. i guess im not as handy as i hoped with this. thoughts on diagram? should i support the fans seperately? or will the yoyo light retractor be good enough? thanks for any advice

yikes i just realized highonpottery recomended fan #1 to be on other side of the sun tube

diagram looks like what i was referring to. i dont think it technically matters if you push vs pull through the light, but i thought push so the fan stays cooler. idk if the yoyos will support the fan, but you never know. definitely gonna be noisy though 'cuz 2 fans = 2x noise. for the light's fan you probably don't need a fancy inline fan (ie: canfan/vortex). you could probably get away with one of those cheap inline duct fans or a large axial fan.

I found it is quieter if you put a little bit of ducting between the fan/filter or fan/light.

lol no he doesn't make me grow my own weed, more like I insist on being a productive grower too and am sick of using bfs equipment to grow with soooo i want to build my own grow shiet and take advantage of using his equipment so I can get the genes that i favor and bud them off then vend them to get my own grind so I can stack and buy all my own equipment someday. he's totally hooking me up though lol i'm just trying to get on a more independent path as a grower because I think it will help me experiment more comfortably without fear of fucking up anyone elses harvest.

I am still playing with my gl120 to get the best venting setup. I have a can fan pulling air from the carbon filter, out the top port, over the top thru a duct muffler and a small 188cfm duct fan pushing air over my 600w hps out the side port, angled to blow away from the bottom passive air intake.

With all that I gt about 7 degrees above ambient, but am trying to get it down to 5

so i put in a order for 2 secret jardin DR80, after waiting over 3 weeks since the place i order from was on back order i finally receive the tent. Only to my suprise they sent me 2 growlab 80 instead!!! I know growlab is the new design but i've heard a lot of bad reviews on them. Should i send it back? I figure since its here already i might as well just keep it instead of going through the hassle of shipping it back and having to wait again for the correct tent. But if the growlab is really that bad i would rather send it back for a refund.

I have a growlab 120 and it seems to work fine for me. It just has the lil pinholes here and there like every over tent

hey guys i have the sunhut xxl older model but im ntoicing where i hang the lights from the top ...they only give you two options well its not centered above my canopy right...anyone had to drill there own holes and adjust it?
