Yeah its a full coco blend.

Its basically just one 15gal pot with holes in the bottom that sits inside of another 15gal pot that only has one hole that is connected to a hose for the water drainage.

+rep that is exactly the way I need to rig my drain to waste coco setup...

Thanks M BLaze for contributing

Im glad I could help :smoke:

Its really a very simple and basic setup but it works great. I'll take a close up pic of the pots to show exactly how I have done mine although theres not really much to it but as they say a picture speaks 1000 words (or something like that anyway lol)

Cheers

Heres a couple earlier pics from a couple months ago of my current plants which shows the pot setup more clearly. They are all linked up with a single hose during the earlier stages but once they get bigger I run hoses individually so its easier to move/rotate the plants around the room and also because they are being fed larger volumes the drainage works better aswell.

These pics were taken just after they got a trim:

How long after that trim did you flower?
You trim quite a bit.. care to tell a little more about your method?

M Blaze, do you find that using 15 gallon pots matters more than 5 gallons, I just figure 15 gallons is unnecessary and inefficient. Or do you do this so you have to water less? How much do you water and how often? Did you do any transplanting or just straight into 15 gal?

Have you thought about hanging those lights vertically?

Those pics were taken on the 23/2 and they went into flower on about the 4/4 from memory. Id have to check that to be exact.

I am pretty full on with the sissors mainly because I grow them so big the lower branches dont produce big enough buds for my liking because they dont get enough light so they are just suckers.

I havnt tried using smaller pots in this setup. Would smaller pots allow for as much growth? I have heard a lot of different things about root mass and pot sizes as some say they need bigger pots to support their size and others say they dont. Whats your thoughts on that? The roots in these 15gal pots do end up massive.

They now get about 4-5 liters 3 times a day and the clones went straight into those pots and they stay there for the whole grow.

I have been very interested in the vertical lighting methods and I will be trying that next time.

Thanks for your comments

Hi blaze very inspirational plant, I see you have a nice run to waste set up that seems to work magic for you. I have one question for you. Q: how often do you water & how much water (nutes) do you use per plant in one watering,( eg 200ml ). Cant wait to see your new bouncing girl triplets at full bud. Nicenesness

He already stated how much he watered, conehead.

ANd blaze, i'm not sure about the buckets. I've heard mixed reviews as well. Some say 5 gallons is plenty and others would disagree. I haven't ran any tests.

Definetly try vertical sometime.. highly recommended.

Thanks guys, as mentioned before they get about 4 litres each 2-3 times a day during the flowering time but they get much less during the veg. It all depends on how dry the medium feels as to how much water they get. As for nute levels they vary throughout the grow but we try and give them the highest nute levels they can handle without showing any signs of overfeeding.

not bad man....yea i use that the sort of set up normally ...same pots ...i use 30 ltr perlite with a clay ball base ...recirculating .....in the top pot i have a hole at the top/side and use a feeder ring (bought or homemade) use..what is it 14mm ? tubing and connections ....veg about 18in high and wide topped at the approx 8th node...veg for around 4-6 weeks...snap down the branches around a week before flower so the plants grow lower and dont get so lanky and also gives the side shoots time to grow up instead of out....

was using 4-5 400w hps in a 10 x 10 ft room...6 plants...looks like thou you where on a winner with the unknown strain there...i was only getting 10oz -1 1/2 pounds per plant and 1 1/2 was rare cause i was always testing strains not many times only growing the one strain in the room..
..so i was using two rez's so when i found i had a longer flowering strain i could switch the quicker ones too flush...had extra drain holes on the rez that i blocked off and unblocked to add the plants that needed flushing when needed...

sorry for the long post...just good to see someone with a similar growing method....keep up the good work :D .HH. =]-~
