Ultimate Super food, Raw Cannabis?

I'd need to see some more evidence of the claims in that paragraph to believe it. that'd be cool if it's true but i'd like to know where he gets this info he puts on his website from. if it's true, people could be using that as a natural anti-depressant, because that's exactly what tryptophan is...that'd lend more truth to the belief that cannabis is a cure-all.

awesome info andre!!! Thanks A bunch

im gonna harvest a bunch of pot leaves, roughly chop em up, add a tomato, a cucumber, half a red onion... sprinkle some ground up bud on top, maybe some croutons and u got urself a refreshing summer Cannasalad! Just add ur favorite dressing

I been eating my lower buds for years.... depending on the strain, that shit is spicy! not how pepper is spicy tho..... very different. So you may have to find a strain thats right for u.... Prolly the best bet if ur gonna be eating cannabis is to find a low potency, leafy strain.... So u dont have to fight urself not to smoke it!

I here ya lol but in all seriousness the best plant for eating would be a non hybridized wild landrace, they have the most electric energy and raw power

this sounds really cool.

1st question- When are you pulling leaves off, in veg?? Flower? End of flower? And do we still flush the plant before we take its leaves.....
GREAT questions! Would the nutritional value decrease at all with an "aided" flush? i.e.. final phase?

In regards to your first question i'm still not too sure, i'm thinking you want unflushed leaves because the chloryphyl has alot of nutrition but if your gonna smoke the weed you def need to flush it. What i would probally do is use green healthy vegging leaves (if i planned to smoke the weed). Another point i thought of, if your gonna start eating your cannabis plants its probally a good idea to grow organically.

This is what i can come up, still not too sure but you def want leaves that are green

http://www.appliedhealth.com/nutri/page6991.php specifically "Bees require 10 amino acids in their diet, same as required for humans, plus arginine. The specific amino acid profile and content of pollen varies. Amino acids considered to be essential to humans are invariably present in pollen in sufficient quantities, although earlier reports have suggested the amino acid's tryptophan or phenylalanine were in short supply."

that's pretty sweet :joint: wonder if cannabis pollen has the same amounts mentioned in those websites...

Do you have any sources for that or is it an educated guess?

Also, how do you prepare the cannabis, do you dry it just as if you were gonna smoke it or is it best fresh off the plant?

Thanks for any info.

I saw a show on TV a while back. In it, an African shaman was walking along a jungle trail. There by the side of the trail was a big (4 foot) BEAUTIFUL cannabis plant- looked about 3/4 weeks into flower. As he passed it, he casually grabbed a young bud, popped it in his mouth and continued down the trail.

And as with all leafy foods, the younger leaves/buds would be more tender and tasty.

I just dry my big fan leaves and blenderize them to put in "magic muffins". (Hubby gets better pain relief with edibles.)

I'm about to try this. I am cutting down 3 SR 71 Purple Kushs this morning and I will save all of the leaves with NO resin to put in a salad. And with this PK the fan leaves are huuuge!

I was thinking your right Andre, about the organic part for sure. I use chemicals so eh.....Not to excited ALTHOUGH I flushed my plants for about 2 weeks, some bottom leaves were yellow but most of the leaves turned purple and stayed green. I am guessing if I hopefully flushed all the major chemicals out then the green in the leaves now should be what I am after.

I will just take the fan leaves wash em off a little, chop em up, and like someone else said add tomatoes, some other veggies, and some dressing. At the very least I feel very very good about recycling my fan leaves I usually throw away. Hopefully they will help my system too. PEACE!

methinks I will try mixing some male pollen into raw honey. This will go on to biscuits with cannabutter and sprinkled with dry leaf powder. Aside from the biscuit should be pretty healthy, eh? :yummy:

I'm also curious if there are any studies to show that eating cannabis slows or hides the effects of opiate withdrawl.. I've been eating a calyx or 2 and my stems on every bowl I smoke for about a year now. Recently was dropped down quite a few milligrams of my methadone and I went from 60mg to 45mg in 3 days and to my suprize I haven't felt any dopesick feelings like most folks would going down that much. I have been arguing with my counselor that cannabis helps majorly is Substance Abuse treatment the same way the methadone does but it is ALOT safer and not nearly as addictive.. I used to get sick every 2 weeks or so and I noticed it was when I didn't smoke durring the day and at night before I slept. So I made sure to have enough meds to last me before I started to detox off the methadone and it's been working GREAT! The cannabis stops my cravings for opiates as long as it's a nice strong indica so I think there should be more research done for this... I think it has ALOT to do with me eating the cannabis trim covered in crystals and the stems of leaves have lots of goodies in them what do you all think???
