It depends on what strain,nutes & patient i have, but 400s rocks.. This is the 400w club & if u go a few pages back, u'll be able to get a picture of 400w yields ... With cheap nutes on my last chronic grow i got out like 2 & 1/2 Oz of dried & cured buds from 3 girls...



















But better nutes & doing it by the book u can get more than that...
600 is better... the more wattage, the more yield

yep,i just pulled 17 ounces from 3 plants with a 600 watt.If i pulled 2.5 id hang myself.

I had started my grow with 400 watts but ended up being able to use only 350 of my combined 400 watts. Its one plant, in a 5 gallon dwc, using GH Floranova grow for veg and And Floranova bloom for flower. Check my sig for pics. She may not be quite as filled out as most of u using the 400w hps, but still my best grow to date. How's about letting me join, I'll fight for it

my next grow will be using a 400w hortilux hps w/ nexgen ballest and air cooled hood. im hopeing for a little less than a lb off 6 plants. i just recently finished a less than 300w t5 light setup w/ 5 plants and a 97day sow to harvest got 7 oz dried. i cant wait to try out a 400w with my new genetics.

Is 16 oz realistic under a 400 watt light? Just wondering because that is my goal, well actually my goal is 17 oz. I think that is a tall order for such little lighting. I mean I do expect at least 8 oz off of my little 2 * 4 closet but I mean that is a lot for a 400 watt. I don't know what to expect in the future as this is my first grow in years. I mean I am going Aero and using DM Gold & waiting for my Liquid Light and Penetrator for my next grow. I also am using something call Sonic Bloom which has helped in it's own merits. If I get that much I'd be feeling crazy good about life.

Just wondering what could be reasonably expected from a grow under 400 watt light(CMH). I feel that there is a good shot at 8 + oz based on the amount of vegetation. That little 2*4 area is nothing but green but it only goes up about 28 inches.

What do you guys think is possible under a 400 watter?

I used a 400 watt in the same sized closet for years and regularly pulled 10-12 ounces from 2 plants in soil.you may be able to pull more but with a 600 you could pull a pound plus.

im aiming for 16oz under a 400w with 6 plants....need 3 oz a piece, i think i can get that...still too early to tell but i believe its definatly possible.

With a clone grow 16oz is about the limit IMO. It is considerably lower with a seed grow just because all your plants aren't going to be studesses (unless you get lucky or sow a lot of seeds and just flower the best ones).

There were some well documented grows on OG where guys pulled around 16oz with a mini SOGs. I think this is about the upper limit (with clones) as you run into a pretty big dilemma with a 400w light; if you pack in a lot of plants in a small space your yield per plant drops, but you can only fit in so many big plants (with space) in the footprint provided by a 400w light. Growing a 3+ oz plant isn't hard, but growing growing 3+oz plants that takes up less than 1.5sqft is.

Thanks for the advice. I think I may just add supplemental LED lighting though rather then go with a 600 watter, it is already pretty warm in there. I think that my closet may pull a pound under a 400 watt but it may be a mistake not supplementing a bit more light. It is scary how big a jungle it is under there. You should take a look at Sonic Bloom that is when my babies really took off. Definitely worth it. I mean I am pretty sure that there will be a bigger difference this time around as well.

I am kind of wondering what things will look like on day 35 things look pretty solid in there and that is only after 22 days.

Actually more then half my plants are studs(all seeds). And I do mean studs. I did an experiment using a magnet on half the seeds and the plants are beasts(except the auto flowers), the experiment worked wonderfully. I am just waiting for the yield difference between magnetic and non-magnetic. The non magnetics also turned into tall beasts. My next grow will be a clone grow, which will be so nice.

My biggest problem is these things are just growing so much taller then I'd like them to be so there are some plants that are literally bent into a U. They go out and come back they are just getting so big so fast I am having problems keeping up with them. I put a screen over them today they keep trying to touch the light, the leaves are getting burnt. I've had to bend 7 of the 9 plants(2 auto flowers). I really wish i would have flower them 2 weeks earlier. But half the plants were so far behind. Now I got a 26 inch bush of 8 trees 4 feet wide 2 feet wide. And there are 3 sativas that seem to be growing an inch plus a day(with 2 main colas a piece). I mean the drain is already clogged with roots and over fills the grow tray.

I can't wait to sort out all these issues the second time around. If I get 10 ounces this time around I'd say a huge success for a first time seed to flower grow in 4+ years. There is such a amazing growth rate that it is impossible to keep up with I can't wait to see yield. My partner seems to see a pound coming out of it. Would be so sweet but I think that is so much to expect out of a first grow. I can see 10 12 inch colas easily. There are also quite a few bottom branches reaching up, by my count 12 other branches reaching to the light, they look as though each will be about 6-8 inch buds. Plus the sativas are still noding out a bit. Should be an interesting yield for my first. I don't know how dense they'll be quite yet, I mean it is only day 23(wrote the other post but forgot to hit post yesterday). What kind of estimate you got with that type of grow? I spent an hour making sure all the lower branches that looked solid are at the screen. It wouldn't surprise me to see 2 liter + diameter on these buds as they are already around 3 inches in diameter.

Ugh so excited it seem like every day is so long watching them. Any predictions or guesstimate would be cool.

Here are two Unknown Dominant sativa strain...The beans hitched a ride in a really dank bag of nugs that tasted like fruity pebbles. I was told it was Jack Herrer but as it grows I doubt it...either way should be some kill...

They are about 33 days into flowering....Sisters....MMmmmm

my first run at a 400w hps isnt going great. i have an aircooled hood with a 400w hps hung about 3 feet from the floor. under it i have 7 ladies about 3 weeks in veg some a little older. they are pretty tiny and have no internodal structure yet. i tried lst a couple of days ago and the plants are bending back great but with no growth in the internodes. heat is becoming my worst issue bc im down south. my problem is as you can see on this page of my snow whites is there a healthy green with no issues, the dirt that those were grown in were all organic and is the same dirt used in the new ones. under this hps light that look really pale green but seem very adapted to the light, *if i bent the tops more theyd shoot up in a day or so) but the appearence of the leaves dont look very good. i didnt know if hps lights make plants look less dark green because of the color spectrum of the light. im working on getting my temps down but it just seems like i should go back to the t5s i started with.

Hi fellow 400watters,,, Im nearly 3 weeks from seed growing some femaleseeds.nl skunk special, femaleseeds.nl white widowxbig bud (x line) and seeds from various generations of the bruised nuts breeding program. I am currently running a 400w hps (sont t agro), i have a 400w hps son t plus which im thinking of changing to once im in flower which will be in about 3 weeks. I have a 1x1x2m budbox. here are afew pics

They are currently in 5" pots, im going to repot some tomorrow. Just growing them with tomato grow bag compost and water str8 from my tap (the lazy way) Check my thread out........
