Purple with yield?

Thanks Dank Frank and Rainman, I've never heard of those before. Maybe I should test them out. Are they basically the same thing as the smart pots I see at the hydro store www.smartpots.com ? I think they both support the same idea. Rainman have you ever done a side by side or have you just noticed a greater overall result. Thanks guy. I learn something new every day.

Awesome bud shots in this thread... Here is something very different...

Angolese sativa X Purple Paki Chitral from ACE seeds

check the thread in the ACE vendor forums...
http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=93523

Dubi & Charlie Garcia are top notch breeders and these girls have a great high and good strong yields :joint:

Damn that is something different. Very nice! The bud is basically purple from the beginning or so it seems. Very interesting. I bet that plants turns colors no matter what temps they're in. Thanks for posting De La Luz. Is this your current grow? If so I would love to see how that baby fills in. Feel free to post any time.

my camera doesnt show the purple colors as good as they are, the angolese cross is basically purple from week 2 flower,

Grimweeder- Those are some beefed up purple plants right there. I can't seem to find anywhere that has this strain. Must be an older release or I'm just not looking in the right place. Its awesome how you can see each stage of those plants. I can see it start off with De La Luz's and then pick up with yours. In that second photo is looks like it would be a bitch to trim but in the top one it looks like it fills in and it is the simplest. Very cool. Thanks for adding your pics!

The photo I placed was a smaller side branch tip (which does look a bit leafy) but for some reason it was a better photo to show the color than some of my others (some of you folks are EXCELLENT PHotographers as well as growers!!:joint:)

one out of three plants in this strain turn purple from the onset of flower. They are not effected by cooler temps. Some are "green" in color thru most of the grow and then may turn magenta and red or pink with then help of the color temp.

Grimweeder nice grow!! I have three different ladies going of this strain, all real nice... my heaviest ...#4.... also comes in at just over 4oz a plant in about 9.5 to 10 weeks. On the last round my main cola snapped due to weight and I had to "split it up" to finish. Nice sativa centered high as well.

De La Luz, grimweeder awsome yields. How long are you vegging for? Hydro or Soil? Light size?

Also, about 8/10 Purple Rhino turn purple/pink/black no matter the temps. 2/10 will turn green.

hi guys, i had 2 green phenos aswell, both green ones yeilded around 5 oz dry weight each, i gave a veg period of aprox 6 weeks maybe a lil bit less grown in 11l pots in coco under a 600w hps cooltubed.
my branches on the beefy purple one didnt snap but the whole plant tilted over to the side i dunno if you can see from the pic but it was really dodgy as to wether it would stand up or not.
wasnt too difficult to trim the smaller lower brances were quit simple it probably took me less than half hour to trim whole plant an get in hung up. i could have given it another 5 days probably but needed the smoke lol.

the only thing bad about the keeper is it did spit out stealth nanas from 8 week flower kinda meant a slightly early harvest but since ive had it ive grown out 4 generations of clones (not keepin a mother) an the nanas trait has gone. i wasnt gonna keep it but think i will now.
defo gonna get more of aces ppc crosses but i got a few other indoor purple strains to try first.
also got me hands on the ppc s1 seeds. got a nice pheno but not something i can afford to fill my room with, to low yields. good 4 breedin tho

OGMAN where can i get some purple rhino seeds??

Damn that honestly looks like the grape ape I have. Tell me a little more about it like the aroma or any other info you have. I've only grown a couple purple strains but others on here have grown plenty more than me and they will come through.

ok well it is a weird smell, like artifical almost,a grapey cotton candy smell to the,i got the cut from arcata's i center here in humboldt and when i got them i was stoned and he told me some bs like its 3 strains combiend....

then i call them and ask they tell me its probably renamed p urkle... and that barney is just what the call it "down south" (where ever that is)

anyway im thinkin its either, purple kush, grape ape, or purp urkle

Hello Everyone. I still can't believe how great this thread has become. I have taken everyone's advice to start my own mix so that is what I am going to do. I am currently doing all the planning work and am going to start in about 3 or 4 months due to work I do over the summer which I can't grow in:frown:. The males that I am expecting to have to chose from are: Querkle (Subcool TGA), Lapis Mountain Indica (Cannacopia), Deep Chunk x Genius (Cannacopia), White Russian (Joey Weed), and Purple Wreck (bagseed). Its going to be hard to pick one of those. I will chose based off of the female plants that are offered at the time.
The females are basically limitless but include for sure: grape ape, romulan, super silver haze, plum frost (never heard of her but my buddy said she is awesome), GDP, and trainwreck x pineapple (which I haven't heard of either but my friend vouches). Those are the easy access ones but I can also get many many more from clubs, and others who offer clones for sale. My plan is create my own purple with yeild and I am very confident in completing my task. Thank you all for following. If you have any picks of males that you like say them but I will also open up another thread in the future that go more in detail about what is offered at the time (female clone wise). Thank you all again!

O and I need to do a shit load more reading. When I do shit I like to do it right.

I decided to also post a couple more pics. Mostly Grape Ape. The last one is blue cheese but I don't really like it to much so she doesn't get many photos. Once she fills in she might look a bit better. The hairs on her started to turn brown really early and just made he look ugly. I think she still has quite a bit more weeks to go. Opps I just realized I didn't include her. well maybe later.

I hate spider mites. They don't seem to do much damage to the actual plant but just makes her look so bad. I just moved from an attic to an actual room and the attic was so packed that it was really hard to get in and inspect my ladies in the back. So this run I lost a lot of confidence but I know shit like this can happen and better than that I learned a valuable lesson.

elmanito- Thanks for sharing your purple. I have never heard of Viking but with a 6 week time and large yield you can’t go wrong. Is this strain still floating around?

This strain is still floating around nowadays and even hybrids of it like this one from GA crossed with Kulu Manali.

I germinated several beans from this strain this year and shall take some new pics.

Namaste :canabis:

Elmanito - Great pic and lets just say the yeild looks ridiculously obscene!!! That was a trimmers nightmare I bet!

Sir - I will give you this advice that was given to me on breeding. Essentially you want to concentrate your main focus on selecting the best male you find. It easy find females and clone only ladies to work with but true breeding males are much harder to locate and select simply because we dont often keep them around if recreational growing and even less often do we understand what to look for in that male. Grow asmany seeds as your space will alow and flower all the males out fully. Only then will get an as to what the end product will potentially give you in across.

This guy came courtesy of a pack of Outlaw's Double Purple Doja x Bubba Kush(pre98). Went Purple early and stayed that way until it went jet black. It made tons of pollen and had a grapey inscence smell when rubbed. Unfortunately I killed him after collecting his boys for some more crosses. Wish I woulda got into doin my own before I did. Good luck and keep it Purple!!!

Purple and yeild can go together, but purple and potency ive yet to experience, dont get me wrong, grape ape, purple jolly rancher, grand daddy purp, mendo purp, ect... are good but none are on the level with bubba, diesel, jackie or ogkush when it comes to potency.

The mosst potent purple ive ever smoked was some bubba, diesel, jackie or og that went purp from low temps lol

Blackberry from back in the days from SomaBlaze and MeMy is hands down the weakest purple/maroon bud ive ever grown and smoked to this day

Elmanito- That is one FAT BUSH. I can't believe it got that big because in my opinion my GA didn't grow much at all through both veg and flower. Each one of those spears is like its own plant. Nice grow. Thanks for posting that lady!

Rainman- Thanks for your tips. They will come in very handy. I read a couple tips on selecting a male out of the grow bible by jorge. So your basically saying that I should start all the seeds. Look for my males. Set them aside to find which to keep and then bring in the females once the males show a little of what they got and I find the right one to cross with. Correct? I just ordered some GDP x DPD and Doja Berry by Outlaw and I so I have put those into the mix of possible males too. They look very promising. Those male photos are amazing. Very nice shade of purple. Thanks again for the advise. When I figure everything out with what to cross ect. I will be sure to invite you to the show. Expect sometime in fall which will also have colder temps where im at. If you have any more tips or websites that helped out your process shot them over to me. I haven't jumped on this whole project yet because I have all summer to do research but it is always good to be pointed in the right direction.

OG#1- Thanks for stoppin by. I agree that those two combos are hard to come by. Its too bad about your experience with the blackberry. It seems like people get some mad weight off it. Hopefully it is better nowadays then "back in the day". Temps are also my worst enemy as it gets pretty hot in northern cali especially in the summer month. Man I don't even grow then due to work but I wouldn't even want to anyway. Its burning where I am at. I am glad I can produce enough ganja to last me through those month. Thanks again for the comments.

OG#1 - You know that all herb varies from plant to plant and I will agree that there are some purples that are terrible on that side. The Blackberry being the most notorious for sure. Prettiest!!!! Weakest!!! Purpliest!!! Plant for sure. I have found that Urkle tends to be the strongest of the common purple cali varieties but there are more less known purple strains that are incredibly potent. Purple Indica and Afganny are 2 that come to mind. The PMB or Purple Monkey Balls is another. They are there and like all other searches it takes a little time. Those guys are off the charts in potency and not so much in taste. They also dont yield much. I think the goal here is tree fold but I could be wrong.

1. Taste - Gotta have that deep grapey smell and taste
2. Yield - They yield like shit even when vegged long periods. I would like at least 2-3 ounces per plant.
3. Purple-ness -You want a pheno that goes dark with or without cold temps. Most Cali purps already do this.

Now this is a purple that I could go for! Give me the yield of the girl in the above photo with Bandit's plant's colors and the smell of grape incense and I am done looking!!!

Good luck gents!

That is the purple of my dreams! I think that is basically the goal of my breeding. It almost sounds impossible but we'll see. I am excited to be adding the outlaw genetics to my collection because I think they are great genetics from the start and then if not you can always add or take what you wish from them. I have so many different combos in my head I'm going crazy. I've gotten really good advise from so many people though and I know what I'm looking for. Special thanks to Bandit, Dank Frank, and Rainman-you guys have been helping me out through this whole thing. Just harvested a couple plants and might put some photos up soon. For some reason I can't trim for a long time. At times I wish I had one of those trimming machines. Well take care all!
