I think I've pretty much concluded the term doesn't have utility for me. I agree with a lot of the posts here in that what they describe are negative attributes-the unwillingness to pursue difficult goals, being lazy, etc. But what do I care about these things? How do they negatively effect the people around them? George Carlin once said something to the effect of show me a guy sitting around not doing anything and I'll show you a guy who isn't fucking things up that bad. It's worth considering that some of the most ambitious people in the world are the biggest destroyers of our moral and intellectual progression.

A job does not define a person. I know a few people who are making literally 88% less money than this time 2 years ago, and they feel lucky to be employed.

Exactly......I always had "irrational hope" and had the courage and tenacity to do well in my life....I accepted responsibility for myself and my family and worked very hard to get educated and provide for me and mine.

Accepting responsibility is the key to success. Most often that is....some ppl are ill mentally and physically and it is harder for them.

...anyone who hates on another person, man or woman, because that person is betterlooking than them. Not claiming to be one of the 'beautiful people' myself, but from many years of observation. Real goodlooking guys have to put of with a lot of bullsh*t, just for the fact that they are beautiful. If you're not beautiful, then you have no idea what I'm taliking about....it's like another dimension. People react to you in a very negative way and, if they can get away with it, make life as hard as possible for you. Beautiful people will never (usually) comment on this problem, for it makes them seem real petty and too vain...not classy at all, but you would be amazed at how hellish it can become. So if you hate on anyone for the simple fact that they have 'something' you do not or have any kind of blessing, then you are a complete loser. It does not have to be goodlooks...it can be anything. Haters are getting more bold nowadays, more so than in the past. It's the culture and sociology............

As you get older guys you realize that outer beauty is not what is really important as the inner beauty. The young are a little superficial and in time they will learn that true beauty comes from within. Outer beauty is genetics and luck.
