well you will learn at your madd mothers class about what some guy did when he didn't wish nothing ever bad to anybody but one night he drank three beers and left a little motel parking lot and killed her lil baby. I don't wish anyone to have to go through more than 24hrs in jail, but sometimes you need to go through some F***ed up ish to wake up.

I mean look at everyone with their SUVs and f-150s. I think they should all sit in jail for 30 days if they wanna drive around with that shitty gas mileage. After they sit and think about is it worth these 30 days of torture, hey, then let em have it. But I bet they'll throw in the towel after 5 days of the shit I went through and go buy a prius.

People that drink and drive don't think about the consequences. And yes I've done it before in my younger years. So I'm guilty of it to....

First of all, you had to have had more than three beers. You blew .07 which is more than three beers. On top of that the liver metabolizes .02 per hr and I'm sure between the time you stopped drinking and got into your vehicle, were pulled over, the time the cops spent with you at the scene and the period they have to watch you before taking a breath sample another hour to hour and a half had passed which means at one point you were at least a .11. Is that fair enough to say? And remember a breath test is going to show roughly .02 lower than a blood test would. If so, you drank at least a 6 pack.....

I did the crime, I served my time. You don't see me here complaining about having to spend a few bucks. It is very true that cigarettes, alcohol, and motor vehicles, along with firearms and pure negligence/ignorance, are responsible for more death and destruction than marijuana could ever be. The only thing the law has going for them on their war on marijuana is the Mexican mafia and illegal immigrants growing in National Parks. If that shit wasn't going down, there would be no problems. People should go to jail for causing problems. Not because they might cause a problem. Your suv is causing problems worldwide.

anyway, i think that there should be a no drinking and driving law. one drink is too much. not too many people can tell when they cross over from .07 to .08 and i am one of them. there has been studies that show when you get to .05 your reaction time is greatly slowed. if the law was zero tolerance, the bars would probably give free rides home or lose all their business. some bars here already do which is nice. when i was in college we had a "drunk bus" that would give rides home from the bars. it was some college kids that got together and supported it. it was great.


i'm surprised that noone has brought up Europe because it's like a death sentence if you drive drunk there. this is probably because public transportation is key over there. in the US everything is so spread out and a bus comes nowhere near where i live. a taxi costs $20 there and $20 back. there goes my budget for the night. i guess i could just take the taxi ride there and directly back and go to bed.

another thought. i wouldnt smoke and drive anymore either. police are really cracking down on that, here anyway. it's the same as a dwi.

no car right now. gave the last one to charity for what I thought was close to 4k, ended up only getting $750. last time I give to charity... but honestly, my life is a lot better since the police threw me in jail and impounded my car. bad things happen for good reasons? i dunno, traffic was driving me nuts and I was losing my hair. I used to drive waaaaaay more than I should have been allowed to in my whole lifetime. I loved pushing the pedal to the metal. Cars are great fun. But they are not a necessity. Neither are cell phones. They sure are great to have sometimes, but most of the time they are a nuissance or even a hazard. A guy ran over 11 people, no one died thank god, because he was drunk and text messaging on his way home. He hit the people making a left turn, parked his car, and ran home and got in bed. Turns out he was driving his roommates car, but they caught on to the whole charade. Wildest part of the story is my buddy lived on the corner where everyone got hit and when the guy took off he dropped his phone. my buddy snatched it up and the rest is history

Actually, all the things you listed are just tools for people to harm themselves or others with. Don't blame the tool, blame the user. No cigarette ever forced itself into someones mouth. No liquor shot ever poured itself. No gun ever jumped out of its case and killed the family while they slept. No motor vehicle ever started itself and crashed into a minivan full of children going to church. There is always a person controlling the tool and the person is the problem. Having said that, let's keep the hole in the ozone layer.... err global warming....err climate change...err...what's it being called this week? ... out of it. There's ample evidence supporting both sides of the issue.

My opposition to wasteful energy transportation has nothing to do with global warming. Its the ideals which support the infrastructure which destroys micro society. Its the industrialization forced on small communities which have no real place or use for them. If you seen pictures of working conditions for people around the world... well, I won't even get started.

But to share a little more about my own experiences. I'm on probation now because my 'friend' who I was giving a ride home to decided to open an unlocked car. I told him he was stupid, what does he expect to find in an unlocked car? He says he found $500 bucks once, so I stand there watching. Long story short, we both get busted. There was a brief case with a laptop in it. He tries to cover for me by saying he was with some other guy who had a slim jim. He turned his misdemeanor offense into a felony trying to cover up. People can be so foolish to put themselves in more trouble trying to avoid a little problem. Anyway, I took a plea bargain for community service, got forced into doing 30 days of caltrans. I thought I could get away with having a few days left to complete. Towards the end I met this guy at caltrans who had my same judge. he tells me the judge sentenced his own kid to caltrans and the kid didn't finish so he sentenced his kid to go to juvenille hall. some people got word of who his dad was in the hall and they stabbed him to death. needless to say, i finsihed up all my required work days and was told to stay out of trouble. all I could say in court was "yes sir". I'm still looking back at that dumbass decision I made years ago. I still feel like I was innocent, but I know I was guilty. Wierd?

Nothing is ever "purged from the record". If you had a jaywalking fine in 1932, I guarantee a visit to the courthouse and 15 seconds of searching will reveal it. Nowadays visiting the county website will reveal it if you have a name to search by.

Even when the case never goes to court there is still a record of the arrest. My stepson was arrested and booked the DA decided they had nothing so everything was dropped. A couple of years later when he enlisted it came out that he had once been arrested! It never goes away.

Many states have procedures for to expunge. You need to hire a lawyer and file the paperwork though. The lawyer I contacted said he could get all of my arrests that had no subsequent convictions expunged for $1500 per jurisdiction. Unfortunately I had one 3 in different jurisdictions and decided with the convictions there anyway it wasn't worth $4500 + my time.
