What size light? I grew that warm and got a real nice harvest with a lot of air circulation.

I am running a 600w HPS system. The plants don't seem to be suffering at all I was just wondering.

My males have stretched more then I thought they would and I was wondering at this point if I break the tops and bend them over are they going to continue to grow and flower putting out pollen.

If I am running alittle warm at 80-85 degrees but have a high rate of air exchange and circulation should I be ok in flower ?

I am growing in a small walkin closet with a 6" Vortex Fan pulling out 450cfm with a 4" passive intake with a desk fan in front of it sucking in and pushing out into the grow space. Plus several smaller desk fans moving it around the space.

Yeah 80 - 85 is okay for fully established plants. Any higher then that you would be pushing it though. If you find that you do run higher like around 90 you can get buy but you really need to supplement with CO2. Unfortunately I don't know much about doing that. Nor do I fully understand why it lets plants handle higher temps.

Personally though, I feel it is better to control the temps with good ventilation and avoid using CO2. For the average grower I feel the costs and hassle are greater then the benfits.

Yeah they'll continue to grow and put out pollen, maybe not from the tops where you break them, at least not at first. The areas below the break should continue to grow normally though.

Males typically do get a good bit taller then females. Marijuana doesn't rely on insects to spread pollen, it uses the wind. By being taller the male increases the likelihood his pollen will reach a female and pass along it's genetics to a new generation.

my dad is 54. he has not grown since 84. I have been growing sine I was 17.i am much older now.
Things have changed so much in terms of genetics, he was used to growing mexican seeds outside.
I am used to growing polyhybs inside and out.
I have a method that is simple and works really well.
He fought with me on buying a t5 light for seeds and clones, his idea was the window sill. He was amazed at how well the plants do under the t5, yet he continues to blow off advice I give him. Example: I told him to not worry about pinching back the clones until they have established a root system. I went to my parents house to hang out. I checked on his plants (transplanted two days ago into soil from RW) he topped them.
He just wont listen to me at all.
Old farts, how can I get my dad to listen to me so that he will grow the pot i grow(and he loves to smoke)?

Ask him if he would consider growing one plant your way so you can see which way is the best. Chances are they may both work.

Well unfortunately for many of us Old Farts we get set in our ways and it's hard to change. Then when a younger person comes along with a better way sometimes pride gets in the way. Especially if that younger person is someone we raised. It's possible it's your delivery. If you come off as being annoyed and frustrated with him he might be closing uo and not taking in what you're saying? Then again it could be a ploy too, to get you involved so that you all spend more time together.

One thing you could try, would be to try to find some one or some people to echo what you're saying, preferably someone closer to his age. It's harder to ignore things when you got several people telling you the same thing. Like the old saying, "If one or two people tell you that you have a 3 foot long tail it's not a problem to ignore, but if 10 people tell you that you have a 3 foot long tail, then you better turn around and take a look for yourself."

Another thing would be something like Gold123 was suggesting.

I haven't worked with either of those strains so not knowing how long they take to finish I couldn't tell you. In general whatever the breeder's suggested harvest time is, it's usually within a few days of accurate +/-. So look that up on the breeder's site and if it's a 60 day strain or less then you should be okay, but if it's more of a 90 day or longer strain then you could have troubles or have to be able to finish it indoors.

If it's the one I'm thinking of even though it's mounted to what appears solid there is a fabric covered opening for the exhaust to breath thru.

I have an old cast iron sink (basin?) that is covered with porcelain that has cracks in it (the porcelain not he cast iron). Can this still be used as a reservoir even if it has some rust coming though? Can anyone foresee any potential problems with this? (Iron burn? if thats even possible) BTW this is for a DIY aero that is in the works. Thanks

Try using something like some pool liner material, or maybe get some construction grade plastic and double it up...
Would make cleaning the res out easier in the future, just cut some more and line it, and be done with it...

I have realized that his is just being contrary to everything I have been trying to help him with. I will try to get one of his friends to help me "set him straight" as it were.
Funny thing though, I brought some of my grass over to smoke with him; He really liked it, said it really rang his bell. three days later I came back by with the same pot, but told him I bought it. he complained about the all three aspects of pot. flavor, high and smell. said he wasn't impressed with the "high dollar" shit. go figure.
plus he transplanted his plants with peanut butter on his fingers. nows its all over the grow room. lights, pots and plants had peanut butter all over them.

Hey PFMJ, bummer on the house situation but alas, as they say, "Shit happens".

As for PG well I only have 3rd hand info but supposedly the site had some sort of hardware failure either just before or while the owner went on vacation and as such isn't likely to be back up until next week at the earliest. That has the ring of truth but you know how crazy things get when a site just disappears.

Rumor has it that a bunch of the site members migrated over to TCC having already developed memberships before they went invitation only. Supposedly Gad posted there that it was a hardware problem initially but I haven't heard any additional alledged word from Gad. Most of the members that didn't go to TCC are at www.opengrow.com many of your PG friends like wpw and The Joker are mods there. It's a pretty cool site but near zero tolerance for anything not grow related. No politics, no tank, etc. In fact membership started growing at OpenGrow when that charming fellow you used to compete over mojo with, made it his personal mission to run PG into the ground. He also seems to have driven a wedge between Gad and Prawn. Prawn claimed in a thread at OpenGrow that he really hasn't had any involvement with PG for weeks. So as much as I hate to have to accept it even if PG comes back up it's not coming back anytime soon if you get my meaning. I could be wrong though, that's been known to happen to me on occasion

Good luck, with what you describe sounds like you got a challenge on your hands. The trick I would think would be to get at the root of what makes him want to be contrary. If you could get past that I think you all would be okay. I must say though, if he's at the point of lathering his hands up with peanut butter before transplanting, and I know he's your pops and all that but, he may need more help then you can give him. I hope I'm wrong but I can't for the life of me think of any sane reason for smearing peanut butter all over things while transplanting. You also describe him as being unable to remember and tell he's smoking the same bud from three days ago which is pretty bad unless he's just constantly smoking all sorts of bud which face it, that's also pretty bad for an old man. One good thing, I'd gather it's his opinion that homegrown is better then commercial, at least he got that part right!

i accidently had my timer on 12/12.. for 10 days.. i check it yesterday and put it on 18/6. i totally did not mean to veg it.. do u think itll go back to normal vegging growth? or am i screwed
