Here is a bit of info for the trully addicted population. Dr. Pepper stopped using cane sugar in the 1930's or something like that, and changed to high fructose corn syrup. Well, there was one Dr. Pepper factor (Dublin Dr. Pepper in Ohio...I think) that kept that same cane sugar formula and refused to switch.

For the true soda conisure, you can still purchase the original formula from the Dublin Dr. Pepper factory. You can either get it directly from the Dublin Dr. Pepper factory, or there are people even selling six packs of the stuff on ebay. Just make sure that the cans actually do have the dublin label.

Its pretty sad, but I actually had a six pack shipped out to me a few months ago. I am stoner that doesn't drink alcohol...what can I say...its not something I'm proud of.

You think you are addicted now with that cheap high fructose corn syrup stuff being passed off as Dr. Pepper...wait until you try this stuff. Before you know it, you are going to be having cases of the stuff shipped to you accross state lines and you'll have a $20 buck a week habit. There are addicts that drive hundreds of miles just to get their Dublin Dr. Pepper fix from the one factory using the oldschool formula.

Dr Pepper is THE BEST!

Dr Pepper is THE BEST!

Dr Pepper and weed are both addictive to me after many years of consuming both. I don't remember life without Dr Pepper as I drank it as a small child in Texas where it was invented. AND I am old.... In Waco at a drug store counter it was invented... just like Coca Cola in Atlanta. The formula is locked in a bank in Dallas and no it does not contain PRUNE JUICE as rumored....

But Texans are particularly addicted to it and when I moved to New York in 84 I was disappointed that restaurants did not serve it like in Texas AND HELL NO Mr PIB ain't the same. I think Dr Pepper is going world wide more these days and I like the Cherry Dr Pepper these days.....\\

But I drink more "sweet tea" these days a southern delicacy...lol....house wine of the south Dolly Pardon calls sweet tea. I noticed Mc Donalds here has started serving southern sweet tea on their menu/

I got pissed when TACO BELL dropped Dr Pepper for cherry pepsi....IT AIN"T THE SAME!!

But as a long time weed and Dr Pepper fan I understand what you mean.

Last time I was in Texas 9 years ago....we were driving from Houston to Corpus Christi and passed through Waco and stopped for some fast food/ My daughter and I ordered Dr Pepper and they stated they don't have it there...

WE said WTF it was INVENTED IN THIS DAMN TOWN!!!!!! LOL

So we need to form Dr Peppers Anonymous for us hopeless cases addicted....

Happy to know I am not the ONLY Dr Pepper and WEED HO out there......lol

Well I gotta catch up on my reading here as I have been gone a couple of days...and just had to comment on this post.:joint:

No contest, it's the pure cane sugar version of Dr. Pepper, which comes in the small glass bottles.:joint:

Ohhh man, the Dublin Dr. Pepper they have now with pure cane sugar, which i think Seismic is talking about, has me scratching holes in my skin if I don't get my daily fix. I've been to the Dr. Pepper museum in Waco, my Mecca. Had it made in front of me, by a soda jerk feller putting mixing the different ingredients separately.......truly a memorable experience for the Dr. Pepper aficionado. Smoking is not addictive, however growing and Dr. Pepper are. I still haven't tried the Cherry or any other variation of Dr. Pepper, but if you can ever get your hands on some of the "Dublin" Dr. Pepper, by golly getchya' some!!

They actually have Dr Pepper in Dublin???/

I am going to U.K. in the future for travel and I hope Dr Pepper has made it there. As well as Paris as my hubs wants to go across the chunnel and see the Louve[sp]

And we are train riding across Scotland. Hope DP made it there....

They might sell it in Dublin, but you sure as hell don't need go to Ireland just to get some some cane sugar Dr. pepper. Dublin is just the specialty distributor for the cane sugar variation I believe.

Refined sugar is actually more addictive than cocaine...

http://www.plosone.org/article/fetchArticle.action?articleURI=info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0000698

Our findings clearly demonstrate that intense sweetness can surpass cocaine reward, even in drug-sensitized and -addicted individuals. We speculate that the addictive potential of intense sweetness results from an inborn hypersensitivity to sweet tastants. In most mammals, including rats and humans, sweet receptors evolved in ancestral environments poor in sugars and are thus not adapted to high concentrations of sweet tastants. The supranormal stimulation of these receptors by sugar-rich diets, such as those now widely available in modern societies, would generate a supranormal reward signal in the brain, with the potential to override self-control mechanisms and thus to lead to addiction.

It's a tough choice, I can't seem to stop ingesting either of them. Weed is the only thing I smoke and Dr Pepper is all I drink, luckily the only side effects are the standard shooting pains down my left arm...

i quit drinking both dr pepper and mountain dew three weeks ago(not that im keeping track) no more soda for me! and i swear im went through withdrawals. it was prompted by an almost complete 40 day period without my meds(only 8 vicoden in that time period-no other pharmas) i started eating sweets like crazy and swole on up! so i decided to quit drinkin sodas. (drinkin 3 to 6 a day)not quite as hard to do as the pain meds, but it did suck!

Mountain Dew is poison....be very careful with the opiates dear....your Dr will let you get addicted and not even care. We are having an oxycontin epidemic here in Florida.

Weed and Alieve works for me. But I have been addicted to pain meds for true pain under the care of a Dr....but it is a downward spiral....
