Who has the best Affy?

G

Guest

I used to get cakes of afghani hash in the early 70's, wrapped in sackcloth and I fell in love with its heavy narcotic stone and the strains that produced it. Ive grown a bunch over the years, both landrace and hybrid alike. From HGF's to Deep Chunk, there are a few offerings that I havent grown but not many.

In my mind, Maple leaf indica has no equal, either hybrid or landrace. Sweet, narcotic, vigorous, resistant, tough plants, it represents everything that old affie hash had to offer. Wonderful in every respect, ive grown it for years. None that ive grown have come close to measuring up to her. None.

Suprisingly, I would put Nirvana's in the top 5. Its consistent, potent and a quality plant.

I now have numerous packs of the Mazar Sherrif from gypsy. Ive grown a couple of mazar landraces but Im about to give this one a try.

In truth, "Afghani" strains cover a range of plants from big plants to compact, early finisher and late, uplifting or narcotic. Ones true favorite affie would probably depend upon the effect they desire. I love the redeye narotic "hashish den" type of smoke. MLI is the girl for that.

like Silverback told the nirvana afghan should be good
if your looking for an outdoor affy you might try some Nordic seed banks as we have a good acclimatized version here
deep chunk is also good for a potent stone
but its hard to get, expensive and doesnt yield much and not good for out door if your far nordic but shes good for use in crosses

good info silverback! i'm going to agree with Nirvana as that is one of the only "true" afg's i've grown, but as far as smoke, def a DC or DC cross

Nirvana Affy. So far I don't like it. Does not look indica to me.

THAT'S what I'm looking for! Thanks for the heads-up Silverback. MLI it will be.

silverback: Wow, you seem to be quite the Afghani-expert. :)

Since you say you've tried most offerings... Have you tried Afghani Special from KC Brains? If so, how was it?

I´ve tried sensi afghani and i was truly disappointed:no:
4 fems out of a package, i had two fenos, 2 plant each, 1 feno looked like a real sativa, stretched alot after switching on flowering, very branchy, many branches were as big as the central bud, floffy buds without resin, smell and anything, i used this feno to make hash because it was unsmokable.
The other was a short branchy indica looking plants feno with more dense, resin and better buds than the other feno but still not really good, 1plant tasted like hash after smoking, that was the most positive.
I expected much more:badday:

Sensi's Maple Leaf was probably the best afghani but this was the first year they released the seeds, the new maples coming from later vintages where more vigorous and high yielding but lacked of quality and taste than first ones had.

Deep Chunk has a real high quality aroma and effect. Resin production is amazing in selected plants. I'd go a for a DC vigorous doble indica cross.

sb, from the shots and reports I have seen recently, and from the first hand example I have flowering, I don't think a man of your stature is going to be very impressed with the MiS that is being offered as freebies. I have had a very vigorous and healthy girl in flower since Mar27 and I am just now starting to see some trics. She was verry slow to develop flowers, although they are very nicely structured and looks like they will fill in well. Almost a sativish pattern.
I cannot imagine this being a hash plant of any sort. Not unless the last couple weeks turn it into a tric producer, it is not showing selective signs of being a good resin machine. Now, that isn't to say that it doesn't have a kick ass stone to it...as it may well have. I am sure that a veteran like you has smoked herb that looked like hell, but kicked your ass. This may well be one of them, but I would not dedicate any precious area to her. Just a heads up, knowing that the spring plant is fast approaching.

Isn't the landrace MLI the one that Baba Ku decreed all hash would be made from?
If so, then that alone makes it a collectors jewel of jewels.
