unfortunatley most people are just sheep. It is an I.Q., and education thing... and Not formal education. I talking about education that only your folks, or other free minded people can give you. The civil rights movement is about unbrain(not a real word) washing the majority, so they see the truth about what is happening in america. Unfortunatly, when the majority in many places, "wakes up", violence does occur. Also, the civil rights movement is about peace, but it has had lots of violence caused by police, which is just as wrong.

I am aware that we do not have true freedom, but we have it pretty good. This is where the problem occurs. People should not be happy with, what I like to call, "The illusion of freedom". We really dont have free choice. we have multiple choice. We are free to choose from one of the options that is given to us. There are many other ways of doing things, other than the ways we are given, but we are brainwashed from birth not to see them. This all started here in the U.S. after the civil war when states rights pretty much went bye bye.

Luckily for me, both my parents taught me to question authority and ask why.
I't seems to me that all of the people here ask why as well, which is why the I.C. community is on the forefront of the current civil rights movement in america.

I want to say something about the thread subject, it's Obama's hypocrisy. Most of you have probably voted for him like myself because some of his promises to change and other positive shit and his promises to end the war in Iraq. He said war on drugs was an utter failure but recently he decided to fund Mexico government to fight Mexico cartel. Because of this there will be more violence and nothing will be accomplished. I just can't believe how big hypocrite he actually is to say one thing and then continue fighting drug war.

I am sorry if this insults some of obama fans but so far Obama was an utter failure and now I see why a friend of mine didn't want to vote - he said all politicians are same and they just lie to get elected. Obama already have his hand soaked in blood of innocent by his support and continuing funding of drug war not just here in US but in other countries as well.

we do have to give the guy a few years before we can call him a failure. Most everyone thought regan was a great president at the time, but his actions are one of the reasons we are fucked now. Everyone knows Bush jr. was a bad president, but depending on how his war effects the long term future, we might view him differently later.

It will take probably 3 years before we see the results of obama's plan. And we will see postive, or possibly negative, results of his work for years to come.

If I believe in anything it is balance. For every good thing done by obama for the united states, there will most likely be bad results for some people. (rich assholes get the shaft this time for a change.)

yes, the people do have overall control of the governmnent, guaranteed by the bill of rights. Americans are born with these ideals and will defend them in the system until the system becomes tyranical. Then thats what the second ammendment is for.

Our governmnent though, is not tyranical. It has been close to tyranical many times since WWII, but when the people pushed hard enough the government gave in, because the government is the pepole. This people vs. government idea in america is invalid. It is just people vs. people. Any citizen has the right to go in to politics. Hence the Bush family.

You dont have to be rich to run for a city, or town postion. once you are in an elected government postition you can speak up and other people in the gov. will listen. It gives a lot more credibility to the other law makers. The more people we have in any level of government speaking up for pot the better.

No one in our government forgets about the civil war in our country, and they wont let it happen again. Look at the civil rights movement. We dont need violence. We just need civil disobedience.

No one will ever be put into office that will change the status quo and if someone did get elected and started giving power back to the people, powers at be would either corrupt them or kill them. I know the Electoral College is supposed to vote in the favor of what the people voted but they don't absolutely have to. This is where corruption can break the people's votes. I am all for peace, but if the time comes I will fight. If one branch of government threatens the average american's civil liberities they will take it to to another branch. It is not until all three branches act directly against the majority, in a tyranical matter that violence is required. You guys can demonize the U.S. Government, but they are not like the Nazi's. They are not Stalin, or Mau. Civil disobedience will work until that point. I mean, have you heard of the hollocaust, or the great leap foward? That is what a bad governmnet does.

As an ex-military member, I was also shocked to see them out a CIA agent and not even care, people who give up a big part of their lives to serve the country.
