Thanks stihgnobevoli, Here's a couple pictures for you, one from inside and one from outside, it should explain things better for you.

I wish I had that much space in flower. Really nice, clean job. Maybe you already said but what kind of exhaust? You can get cool 42 watters on the internet.

thats some really nice carpenting(sp?) i wish i was that good with a hammer. i got a cabinetmaid right now full of light leaks. but i like the dimensions. after i move im gonna trash it and build another one with the same dimensions. prolly a few inches deeper, and im gonna mount the doors with inside hinges. the spring kind that pull the door laterally while its closing so theres no gaps on the sides.

Thanks Jilla. :D

Discobiscuit, I have a PC fan that I will be trying out. It flows 33CFM so hopefully that is enough for this little bitty cab, I would hate to have to buy a different one. I'm hoping to get it installed today along with finishing the lightproofing, but I am going to help my brother work on his setup today so I might not get the chance to. Cool 42's huh? What's the difference?

stihgnobevoli, It's (carpentry) lol, and yeah, if you can swing a hammer at all or use a drill and can cut a relatively straight line with a saw, then you can build this just as easily as me. I rate this job as a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 because it was SIMPLE and anyone could do it. Hell my child could have done it and they have no skill in making things at all!
I promise you, it's not as hard as it looks and if you just take your time and do it slow, you can make it look professional and functional easily. :D
I was thinking about making the front into a door with hinges but that would have required me to spend money....of which I don't have right now LOL

White, yeah not too long huh? LOL I could have had it done in one day if I didn't have other things to do :D Thanks for the big ups!

You'll only need a stronger fan if your plants stink enough to justify a scrubber. I made a mesh pencil holder DIY scrubber and it reduced air flow 40 to 50%. The carbon also absorbs a good deal of heat causing temps to go up. There are alternatives to carbon scrubbers if stink is low to medium.

CFLs come in different color temps.

Cool - blue light, good for veg as it keeps nodes short and plants compact. You'll see cool CFLs at the store in various watt sizes. For some reason, 42 watt cools aren't that popular and are mostly found online. I think they're 6200 Kelvin

Daylight - white light, also good for veg. These would probably be good in flower, imo. Mostly found online in 42w size. I think these are 5000K

Warm - red light, will be just fine for your veg cab. Warm CFLs will grow slightly longer nodes thus slightly stretchier plants. These are about 2700K. Warm CFLs do well in flower.

The no hinge door is better than hinges and a great idea imo. Hinges pose problems with alignment and make light leaks a pain in the ass. That cab is really stealth! If you get a chance, I'd like to see a pic with the door on please. Nice job, can't wait to see if full of plants!

DiscoBiscuit, post #10 has a shot of it with the door back on after the mods. I agree, a non-hinged door is easier to lightproof...my grow tunnel was a pain to lightproof, but made easier by my offset style door. So I guess I bought the wrong bulbs for veg huh, LOL, I was just getting what I saw Lifeless use in his little rubbermaid tubs. Oh well, I guess I can upgrade eventually when I get money(I borrowed the lights from my friends setup LOL :D )

My bro cancelled on me so I just might get this done today, the wifey told me to get some yard work done though so we'll see :D

Thanks man, looks good.

Nah man, they'll do fine. Depending on the strain they may do better. Cool CFLs work for me cause I don't have as much head room in veg as you do.

Well that's good to hear, I am working with more Sat dom plants so maybe they will like it better :D

So here's the weatherstripping done on the door and the box and the lights wiring has been secured to run down the back corner of the box. Now all I need to do is cut the hole for the exhaust, mount and wire the fan, mount the ducting, and apply some reflective tape to a couple places and she is ready to be filled up! :D

Looks great Smith, think I might have to go on a quest for some of those mylar boards after seeing how clean they look in yours.

I did my Veg under mixed, but primarily Red CFLs with Sativas, they turned out pretty good so hopefully you won't have any problems either. I guess it could depend on the strain though like Disco mentioned.

Lookin forward to seeing this in action. Any ideas on your grow medium yet?

Thanks for stopping in Fluorobuds :D As I said before, I don't buy them, I make them. Here's a somewhat crappy picture of the ones I have left still sitting in my garage

And here is what is going on in the dresser as of right now :woohoo:

And you would never believe what another trip around the block procured me tonight :nanana:

The wife said :noway: that I already have 2 and I don't need to make any more!
To which I said :cuss: and then she said :bat:and then I was like :asskick:and then she was like:whip: and then I gave in and was like :bow:and then she was like :bis:and that was the end of that.

Thanks Snowkitty, I really appreciate that. :D It's easy once you get into it.

Oh yeah and about the grow medium, I'm thinking about a small DWC system in there to use it as a veg and cloning chamber for my big setup but I'm not sure since I would have to build something and go buy an air pump and stones............guess I'm gonna have to do it though.
